BOATER’S SAFETY
This is a great time to take advantage of all the great boating available at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake and surrounding lakes.
Outdoor Recreation requires a Boater’s Safety Course certificate from Texas Parks and Wildlife in order for customers to rent their powered boats.

Resale Lot
Are you interested in selling a vehicle? To place a vehicle in the Resale Lot, patrons must have proof of insurance, registration and the vehicle must be in their name. Call for more information about pricing.
Trail Rides And Pony Rides
Reservations required for all trail rides.
Trail rides cost $30 and are available for patrons 54 inches and taller and that weigh no more than 200 pounds. It is also important that the riders be able to manage the horse themselves. All riders must arrive 30 minutes
The 3D Archery Range consists of a course with 30 life-like animal targets such as bears, black panthers, deer and alligators. The targets are set up between 5 & 55 yards at various distances. Traditional (Long Bows and Recurve Bows) and Compound Bows are allowed but no Crossbows. The RNGRC has Recurve Bows available to rent for $15 each. Registration for the Competition Shoot is 8-10 a.m. and participants may start the course as soon as registered. The cost is $10 for E-1 through E-4,

The Fun Shoot registration is 8-11 a.m. and participants may start the course as soon as registered. The cost is $5 for E1 through E4, activeduty or medically retired, $15 for ages 13 and older and $5 for youth 12 and younger.
Archery Range
Thursday-Monday
8 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
The Rod-n-Gun Recreation Center offers an outdoor archery range with targets ranging from 10 to 60 yards at 10-yard intervals. The targets at the range are crossbow rated. A daily pass is $5. The cost for an annual pass is $40 and $65 for a family of two. Each additional family member is $5. A DoD ID cardholder can sponsor up to two Non-DoD ID cardholders for $5 per person. The Range at Camp Bullis is 100% ID Check. All guests must report to the RNGRC and present a DoD ID card. Guests must be in the same vehicle as the sponsor.
SPORTSMAN RANGE (GUN RANGE)
Saturdays & Sundays
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Patrons must be age 10 and older and be with a valid DoD ID cardholder. All shooters must come inside to sign in. Cost per day is $10 for E-4 and below, $10 per DoD ID cardholder and $15 per Non-DoD ID cardholder. DoD ID cardholders can sponsor two Non-DoD ID cardholders. Please call before coming out to check on weather and unit training restrictions.

WALKING/RUNNING TRAILS
JBSA Lackland has 100+ acres of walking and running trails that run from JBSA LAK Outdoor Recreation to Gillum Fitness Center all the way to Stillman Park. Bring the family to enjoy the outdoors in a nature walk. There are plenty of bird species, wildflowers, turtles and catch and release fishing in Leon Creek. We have even seen deer at Stillman Park. You are welcome to bring your dogs but please remember to keep them on a leash and clean up after them.
Enchanted Rock Rappelling Trip
March 26 • 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Join us on a Hill Country adventure where we will summit the famous Enchanted Rock and rappel from the top. As we hike our way to the top, we’ll learn all about the cultural history, geology and flora & fauna of Enchanted Rock. We will team up with “Rock About” climbing outfitters and perform multiple rappels with the longest one being over 300 feet long! We will also have an opportunity to eat lunch at “Old German Bakery and Restaurant” in Fredericksburg before our adventure.

Government Canyon Dinosaur Hike
April 29 • 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Join us on a seven-mile interpretive guided hike through Government Canyon where you can see real dinosaur tracks in person. You’ll be able to learn all about the dinosaurs that left these footprints and about local flora and fauna that call San Antonio home. The cost of this program is $20. All ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian). The program includes roundtrip transportation. Spring Camping Promotion

The package includes one 4-6 person tent, four sleeping bags, four mats, one lantern and one cooking stove. The cost to rent for one day is $42 or $70 for a weekend.
Randolph Archery Range
The Randolph Archery Range is located between Eberle Park and the East RV lot and is ready for target practice. Archery passes can be purchased at Outdoor Recreation, bldg. 895. The cost for the daily pass is $5, cost for an annual pass is $40 and $65 for a family of two. Each additional family member is $5.
Eberle Park
Be sure to consider Eberle Park when planning your next family gathering or office party. Eberle Park must be reserved prior to use. You can rent each pavilion for $35, the grill and serving house for $20 each and all the facilities for only $50.

ANNUAL PASS SAVES YOU MONEY!
Purchase a Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Park at Canyon Lake annual pass for $100. Buy one and enjoy the lake all year. This pass gets you into the both Sunny Side and Hancock Cove sides of the park. Otherwise, the daily entry fee for the park is $15 per visit, per vehicle. Annual passes include a vehicle and boat/trailer pass and are valid for one year from date of issue. You can also buy a spousal pass for an additional $35 as long as they are over 18 and have a valid DoD ID card.

Boat Driving Course
March 11 & 25 and April 15 & 29 • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how to drive a boat safely at the JBSA Recreation Park at Canyon Lake Hancock Cove Marina. This two-hour boat driving course covers boat operation, rules of the water and safety guidelines. The cost for the class is $40 per person and there are limited spots. Give us a call to reserve your spot. You must have taken the Boater’s Safety Course through Texas Parks and Wildlife to be able to take this course.
Kayak And Paddle Board Class
March 11 & 25 and April 15 & 29 • 10 a.m. to noon
Please join us at JBSA Recreation Park Hancock Cove beach for a two-hour class on the kayaks and paddle boards. The cost for this class is $20 person. Give us a call to reserve your spot.
Star Gazing
March 11 and April 1
8:30-9:30 p.m.
Join us for a star gazing class on the lake. See the solar system and beyond like never before though powerful telescopes. We should have excellent views of many of the planets in our solar system in addition to constellations and deep space objects this time of year. This is open to all DoD ID cardholders. The price for this class is $10 for children 12 and younger and $20 for age 13 and older. Give us a call to reserve your spot. Start time may vary or the class may be rescheduled due to weather or low visibility.
Beyond The Marina Boat Tours

Enjoy a 1.5 hour chauffeured boat tour around Canyon Lake. Encounter breath taking scenic views; discover the lake’s history and the town that still resides beneath. Open to all DoD ID cardholders.
