Bingo News

Bingo takes place every Sunday at 3 p.m. and Monday–Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom. Admission is free for members and $10 for nonmembers. Members have the chance to win full jackpots and nonmembers can try to win half jackpots. Don’t forget to play every Tuesday and Wednesday to qualify for the monthly member prize give-away.

Deadlift Competition

March 1-31 • Mon.-Wed.

6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Patrons are invited to come see who can deadlift the most weight. This contest will have categories for men and women. The person that deadlifts the most weight in each category will receive a prize at the end of the month.

FIVE-MILE CARDIO CHALLENGE

March 1-31 • Mon.-Fri.

5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Patrons can use treadmills, spin bikes or rowing machines to complete this challenge. Each patron is to make sure a staff member records their time and distance. At the end of the month prizes will be given to the person with the longest distance on each piece of equipment.

Springtime Bench Press Competition

April 3-30 • Mon., Wed., and Fri. • 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Patrons are invited to see who can bench the most weight. There will be categories for men and women but no weight class. Each patron is to make sure a staff member verifies the weight benched. The man and woman who lift the most weight will be awarded a prize at the end of the month.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

April 3–30 • Tues. • 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This circuit training will run for a duration of two hours in the morning or afternoon and is designed to increase cardio endurance and core strength. If interested, please give us a call and make an appointment.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING CONTEST

April 15 • 2 p.m. Show off your three-point shooting skills in this contest. The shooters who make the most three-point baskets from the five designated locations will be our new champions. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female winners.

BRAGGING RIGHTS CHALLENGE BOARD Year-Round

Everyone is welcome to compete against present and former patrons to make it on the METC Challenge Board. Challenges consist of the fastest 2,000-meter row, most weight bench pressed, deadlifted, and lifted in a squat; most pushups, sit-ups, pull-ups, fastest one mile lap and most tire flips completed in two minutes.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY 5K

March 11 • 8 a.m. Dress up in your finest Irish attire for the chance to win a prize. The event takes place at the Pershing Field, bldg. 3212. Transportation will be provided for students, volunteers, and other participants. Pickup and drop off is at the Aquatic Center starting at 7:30 a.m.

Ncaa Bracket Mania

March 14-April 3

Interested patrons can submit their brackets to the METC Fitness Center staff NLT March 10 to be eligible to compete in the Men’s’ NCAA Contest.

1,000 METER ROW CHALLENGE

April 1-30

Patrons are invited to see who can complete a 1000-meter row in the fastest time. There will be categories for men and women and each patron is to make sure a staff member verifies the distanced rowed. The man and woman who row the most distance will be awarded a prize at the end of the month.

Mondays and Thursdays • 11:45 a.m. This workout is 45 minutes of dynamic exercise that includes a mixture of cycling and upper/ lower body exercises. This class is for all fitness levels.

Circuit Training

Tuesdays • 11:30 a.m. This 45-minute class is designed to increase cardio endurance and core strength.

BOOT CAMP/CIRCUIT TRAINING

Wednesdays • 11:30 a.m.

This class is a mixture of plyometrics strength training, core strengthening and cardiovascular exercises set to upbeat music.

This high-intensity bodyweight training workout is choreographed to the beat of the music. Pushups, squats, burpees, and lunges are staples of this routine.

Spring Break Junior School Of Golf

March 13-17

PGA Teaching Pro Charles Bishop is conducting a junior golf school during spring break. Youth ages 8–15 are invited to participate and learn all aspects of the game. Fundamentals such as stance, grip and posture will be covered as well as the swing, putting and chipping strokes. There will be two sessions each day: 11 a.m. to noon for youth ages 8-11 and 1-2 p.m. for youth ages 12-15. The fee is only $75 per participant!
