"Building businesses and restoring communities from the earth up, through mineral export "
Founded on February 13, 1975, as a privately held entity owned by the Government of Jamaica, Jamaica Bauxite Mining Limited (JBM) emerged as the cornerstone of Jamaica’s bauxite industry to effectively manage operational partnerships within this sector.
As global dynamics has reshaped the mining landscape and business resilience and environmental guardianship has propelled JBM’s focus on a transformative journey that we today embrace and redefine the operational blueprint of our current strategic direction and that of a forwardthinking enterprise.
Today, JBM stands at the crossroads of transformation, having meticulously restructured operations to synchronize with initiatives to further shape a future of boundless potential as a national conglomerate with four distinct yet interconnected domains, manufacturing, and distribution; real estate development and management; bulk export facilitation of limestone, and sustained responsible mining.
‘MoreThanMining’
It gives the JBM great pleasure to introduce the ‘101 Industrial Park and Commercial Complex Projects’. Our company is embarking on a trajectory of maximizing strategic assets which offer immense partnership and growth opportunities for investors, developers and clients.
JBM is the owner of over 4,000 acres of land in the parish of St. Ann, inherited from its traditional core business of mining. We have evolved in recent years, refocusing on our Port operations. The 101 Industrial Park & Commercial Complex projects have been strategically conceptualized from a perspective to reposition rural land endowment as an interconnecting part of the logistic hub to the JBM’s Port, Reynolds Pier. Our motto of ‘'building businesses and restoring communities from the earth up, through mineral export'’ has been a driver of these development projects, supported by our tagline “More than Mining”.
The territorial placement of 101 Industrial Park & Commercial Complex in Lydford, St. Ann is ideal, due to its locality between two urban major cities - Kingston and Montego Bay. These advancements will facilitate human capital and technology development in the surrounding communities by attracting high-growth product and service industries.
The master plan includes an ecosystem of high-technology Business & Knowledge Processing Outsourcing spaces, warehousing and lightmanufacturing units, Commercial Retail units and a supporting housing development. The projects will be a hallmark for the Parish of St. Ann and contribute to the National Development 2030 Vision of economic growth through job creation.
JBM is enthralled about the prospects of realizing the 101 Industrial Park & Commercial Complex over the next 18 - 36 months; and is inviting strategic partnerships, investors, developers and/or potential clients.
