In 2019, when we last gathered under the tent for our Centennial Celebration, little did we know what the next few years would bring.
In Greenwich for Good YWCA 100 Years Celebration I June 1st 20194
Dear YWCA Greenwich Friends, We are thrilled to welcome you back to our beautiful campus for our 2022 Gala to celebrate and support YWCA Greenwich.
Despite the many challenges, YWCA Greenwich remains focused and devoted to our mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We are so very grateful and proud of our Board, staff, and loyal supporters such as you for their perseverance and dedication to YWCA Greenwich during this unprecedented period.
Tonight represents a turning point in many ways as we celebrate together and look to a brighter future of service to our vibrant community. Thanks to our generous supporters, the teamwork of our Board and staff, and our strong partnerships in the community, YWCA Greenwich is now positioned to address issues and gaps in human service as they emerge, as well as strengthen our signature programs that bring thousands of neighbors, from babies to seniors, to our campus every week.
Navigating through the unknown phases of the pandemic, we maintained key services for the community and those in need, including increased domestic abuse services, summer camps, pre-school and afterschool care, aquatics, fitness and educational pro grams advancing our mission, all while prioritizing the health and safety of our families and constituents.
President and CEO
Finally, we are deeply grateful to our wonderful co-chairs, Sabrina Forsythe, Douglas Graneto, Andrea Sisca, and Stacy Zarakiotis. Thanks to their creativity and commitment to this event, we are able to gather together and celebrate with a festive party featuring great food, decor, and music - they literally have been planning this evening for three years! We salute and thank each of them for their outstanding leadership and efforts.
For those attending this beautiful event, thank you again for your continued support of this key community institution. Please enjoy the evening and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Sincerely, Mary Lee A. Kiernan

It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the YWCA Greenwich’s Gala! We are honored to co-chair this event for such an amazing organization and thrilled that you have chosen to join us, especially since the pandemic has kept us apart for the last two years.
Thank you for generosity, support and friendship to the YWCA Greenwich.

Prior to our Centennial Celebration in 2019, we hosted this event elsewhere. But then we realized that there really was no better place to host a party than in our own backyard –– a place that YWCA Greenwich has called home because Toni Wyman and 17 families raised the funds to purchase the land and erect the building that exists today after outgrowing the original YWCA on Milbank Avenue. Our founders provided safe, affordable housing for young single women, and subsequent leaders launched the first and only domestic violence program in Greenwich. From the women’s suffrage movement and the civil rights movement to our recent work against human trafficking, YWCA Greenwich has consistently promoted women’s empowerment, inclusion and dignity for all. Your generosity this evening and throughout the year provides much needed financial aid that enables chil dren and families to participate in our organization’s preschool and after school programs, summer camp, and fitness and recreational programs. Each year, we provide over $200,000 in financial subsidies to members of our community who are in financial need. Your generosity also supports our domestic abuse services that are provided wholly free of charge, as well as a variety of other free events and programs that make YWCA Greenwich a vibrant hub of learning, recreation, friendship and service to others. We are deeply grateful for your support this evening and throughout the year.

It has been an honor to be part of this impressive organization for the past few years. To my fellow co-chairs, Sabrina Forsythe, Andrea Sisca, and Stacy Zarakiotis, it’s been a pleasure working with you, and a wonderful experience all around. Douglas Graneto
Beyond the excellent family and fitness activities that it is known and loved for, many people are unaware of the important community work that the YWCA is involved in, such as supporting victims of domestic abuse.
