The work of building the Espace Montmorency complex is progressing smoothly. The construction site is dominated by five big cranes whirling round in an incessant ballet, an impressive building site that will become the largest mixed use development project in Laval. It is also unique in many ways for its promoter, the Montoni Group. "We chose to build this multifunctional project in a single phase so that future occupants can fully enjoy the Espace Montmorency experience as soon as the work is finished, with delivery scheduled for summer 2022. That way, building occupants will not have to endure the inconvenience of living and working on a job site for several years," explained Dario Montoni, the company’s president.

oncern for clients’ well-being has been part of Montoni’s DNA ever since he founded the firm, an added-value that is apparent in all his projects. "We build in accordance with the needs of the occupants," noted Mr. Montoni. "The building is conceived as a shell around the people who will live or work in it. People are our paramount concern, so we design buildings that they will find appealing and attractive." A SINGULAR URBAN PROJECT He is especially proud of the concept developed for Espace Montmorency with his partners, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Selection Group. Located at the crossroads of major highways and connected to the Montmorency subway station, the 1.3 million square-foot urban hub will include a mix of buildings: two residential towers consisting of 700 rental units, office spaces and a 180room hotel with an urban spa, plus a two-storey commercial podium of shops and restaurants. It also offers underground parking for 1400 cars, as well as green spaces. The architectural design is by the Sid Lee Architecture team. For Montoni it is one of his first projects to include residential units, but won’t be the last.
