YR 3 // SEM 1 // PROF. PARGA // PARTNER: FEIYANG WU
This supportive social housing project focuses on issues of gentrification and the “right to the street” in Central Harlem.
From our research we found the many issues of displacement and community disruption that came with harmful zoning laws implemented by the local government.
This project looks to create a cultural hub for local and displaced Harlemites to organize and come together to maintain their power as citizens within’ the city.

Synthesis project from first year that looks at making a concept clear through form and details to create cohesiveness throughout the design.
This project gave me an opportunity to explore the triangulated form and speculate on the structure needed to support such an architecture.
This studio gave me an opportuntiy to diagram my architectural ideas and explore how to break down my concepts into something quick and understandable.
13
I also had an additional focus on public and private spaces in the interior and developed an alternate window system for spaces that were meant to be private to contrast the extremely public window systems which are attached to the galleries.

This diagram showcases how circulation and thresholds interact with the public window system on the facade in order to highlight it throughout the project.

YR 2 // SEM 2 // PROF. SALAZAR
This project reflects on the relationship of contemporary and historical methods of capturing landscapes and the role of protected viewsheds in Olana State Park.
In light of Olana State Park’s history of using a “protected viewshed” to protect the local environment from industrial development, I wanted to create a design that enhanced the visual experience of these significant viewsheds in the Catskills.
This project uses a simple structure to allow art to be showcased and experienced against and within the landscape.

It is imagined that the structure of the design is simple enough to be deployed, moved, and expanded as needed throughout the Catskills region. As seen in the physical model photos, at a smaller scale they’re realtively simple and move-able, while larger installations may be more permanent or complex.
VIEW SHED
The main focus was on the Olana State park due to its historical significance, but in the research process there were multiple locations where it is imagined the network of “View Shed” installations could be deployed to encourage sight-seeing, tourism, and art throughout the Catskill region.

Photography is one of my favorite ways to express myself creatively. From landscapes, portraits, to heavy image manipulation and massive amounts of editing, I enjoy experimenting within the medium! Additionally, through my photography I document my travels.
This semester I’m currently studying abroad in London! Through the program, I was able to visit Madrid, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen. I also had the opportunity to participate in a signature seminar focused on sustainability that allowed me to visit Norway, Finland, and Stockholm.
HOBBIES
OTHER WORKS
I engage creatively through multiple outlets outside of architecture including character design, 3d-modeling, graphic design, and photography.
I have a developing interest in 3D-modeling. Currently I’m learning through self-teaching and available courses to further explore the medium to enhance my architecture and personal work.
