Prism DRR Newsletter 2022-23 August Edition

Hello Rotaractors, Warm Rota Greetings to everyone! It is my absolute pleasure to pen a note for the second edition of DRR E- newsletter prism. The purpose of the newsletter is to showcase various works and projects executed by clubs of RID 3240.

I believe teamwork is the key to success. Be it Rotaract or anywhere else, when we tend to work alongside others with proper coordination, we always achieve our goals. Working as a team also make new bondings. In fact, we all start to bridge the gap between the clubs and enhance our budding friendships. This is how we perform in bringing out this bulletin. We have tried to make it constructive and informative.

The Motto of Rotary is "Service above Self", and we take this to heart with all of our activities!

With the ideology of philanthropy community service and Charity we have found a better way to engage with people than by changing their lives in the process.

The post gives us the opportunity to fulfill our passion of giving back to the society and serving the needy, enjoying entertaining programs and enhancing fellowship with club members and other Rotarians and Rotaractor.

I also realized the key to leading a group of leaders was not by leading them, but by following them, working alongside them, sharing a common belief.

Successfully inducted two new Rotaractors to RAC BOLPUR SANTINIKETAN in this Membership Development month of August. The meeting was presided by PDRR Rtn. Tuhin K. Chaudhary. President of RC Bolpur Shantiniketan and Ex Rotaractor, Rtn. Soma Singha and Rotaract Comm. Chairman of RC Bolpur Shantiniketan, Rtn. Dinabandhu Singha were also present.

RAC Bolpur-Santiniketan and Rotary Club of Bolpur Santiniketan And Inner Wheel Club of Bolpur Santiniketan jointly organised a three days free medical camp,collaboration with Rotary Club of New Ballyganj and Rubi Hospital.

MEGA MHEALTH EGA HEALTH CAMP CAMP

Rotaract Club of Burdwan in association with Sharanya Multispeciality Hospital organised a Mega Health Camp on 9th of August at Tejganj Children Welfare Organisation, Burdwan.

A team of 6 doctors including general medicine doctor, dentist, eye specialists and dieticians successfully conducted this checkup and almost 150 people consisting of children and their parents were benefitted from this camp. Required medicines were also distributed by Sharanya Hospital. The chief guest for the event was Sri Krishnendu Kumar Mandal, SDO Bardhaman Sadar South. We thank sir for his giving his valuable time and presence. Thanks to our event chair Rtr. Vinit Khandelwal who made this event happen. Special thanks to Suvodip Dutta and the whole team of Sharanya Hospital for their support and cooperation throughout the event. Thanks to President of Rotary Club of Burdwan Rtn. Mukti Sarkar and members of RC Burdwan for their presence and support.

Rotaract Club of DSMS College Celebrated the 75 Azadi ka Amrit Mahatsov at DSMS College in Presence of Respected TIC Mr.Subrata Pandey and other faculty members, Club advisors, students of over more than 200 witnessed the auspicious occasion with beautiful programs like dance, singing, recitation to embrace that beautiful day.

"Rotaract movement has everything for which we are becoming a follower of it " The orientation program of was organized on 24 August 2022 in DSMS College lobby by Rotaract Club Of DSMS so that the newly joined students of 1st Year will get an insight into what rotaract club actually is and how can they contribute towards it. The welcome address was given by Club Director Rtr. Nandini Paswan .

Distribution of study materials to underprivileged children at the complex of RC Durgapur. We thought of bringing smiles on their faces and what better way to do than this.

Tree plantation on Independence Day. Planting more trees and protecting the ones present is an urgent need for the generations to come.

76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the auspicious occasion of 76th Independence Day, RC Gangtok South, RAC Gangtok Hills and Interact clubs of Gangtok organized a joint event at Tathangchen School. We celebrated Independence day along with it a dental camp was held at School premises and Cleanliness drive in and around Tathangchen area. Around 120 150 people which included local people from Tathangchen Area were present during the dental camp.

DISTRIBUTION OF SANITARY NAPKINS

On 22nd of August 2022, RAC Gangtok Hills, youth wing of Rotary Club of Gangtok South, distributed sanitary napkins at 4th mile, Junior High school. The club also sensitized the students from class 6 to class 8 on menstrual health and hygiene. The club provided 400 packets of Sanitary Napkins at Dochum Junior High School on the same day where the other member team of the club had reached out there.

Isn't it so comforting to be around our grandparents? It's the most blessed feeling. Listening to their stories, laughing with them and being their strength. �� So, to celebrate their presence and their love towards us. The Rotaract Club of Inspiria joyfully organised an event on Senior Citizens day on 22nd August 2022 in collaboration with Go- Happy Club at Inspiria Knowledge Campus. The motto of the event was to make sure all the senior citizens around us feel loved and cared for. ✨To celebrate the occasion all the members of the club brought at least one senior citizen with them. The event was filled with cultural events such as Dance, songs, poetry etc followed by fun games. Some of the performances took them back to the 90's reminding them of how they enjoyed music. Overall the event was successful and all the guests took back tons of memories and love.❤

NATURAL SOLLUTION FOR THE FUTURE

On the 28th of August, the Rotaract Club of St. Joseph’s Darjeeling RID 3240 participated in the sapling distribution, conducted by the Rotary Club of Darjeeling. Around 15 members adopted a sapling and will be taking care of it for a year. The plant will then be transferred in a plot, the following year.

PROVIDING NON-FORMAL EDUCATION

On 31st July 2022, the first official meeting of U&I volunteers was conducted at Mary ward,Southfield college, Darjeeling. U&I is a volunteer based organisation in Bangalore, India. In Darjeeling, it is the first campaign being launched under the initiative of U&I Teach with the motive of providing non formal education to the underprivileged children.

"SENSITIZATION OF ANTI-RAGGING IN INSTITUTIONS"

Rotaract Club of Assam University, Silchar conducted a project on "Sensitization of Anti Ragging in Institutions" on 2nd August, 2022 in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority where two of our previous serving rotaractors, Rtr. Mun Choudhary and Rtr. Madhu Chandra Chakraborty, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA, Cachar. As a part of the session we imparted knowledge about what constitutes ragging practices and what can be done to prevent it . Also, the legal procedures in place for justice for people who have suffered some kind of ragging was imparted to three batches of students.

Rotaract Club of Assam University, Silchar on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan conducted a project "Bandhan" where all the rotaractors tied rakhi to each other and promised to take care and protect each other as a family. We also tied rakhi to the President of Leo Club of Silchar Signature to promote brotherhood between the clubs.

Rotaract club of Dharmanagar has successfully executed an inter school debate compitition named "Word war" wherein students from 7 schools from our locality showed their active participation. The debate was executed in 3 rounds covering as much as 12 topics.

The purpose behind this compitition was to enhance the soft skills of the students such as presentation skill, active listening skill, critical thinking etc.

RAKSHA BANDHAN

The Festival of Raksha Bandhan is all about celebrating the most special bonds. Raksha translates to the "Protection" and Bandhan translates to "Bond". On the eve of Rakhsa Bandhan Festival, we the members of Rotaract club of Dharmanagar tied sacred Rakhis to the wrist of BSF jawans at Baruakandi Army Camp on 11th August 2022.

On 6th August, Rotaract Club of Silchar , Rotary Club of Silchar, and Aster volenteers, youth wing of Aster DM health care collaboratively organised a health camp at Sadirkhal, Silchar. A total of more than 300 people got free health check up.

MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP

On the occasion of 75 Years of Independence A MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP was organised by ROTARY FAMILY OF SILCHAR, ROTARACT FAMILY OF SILCHAR jointly with ROTARY CACHAR CANCER BLOOD BANK. With the support of Rotary Club of Silchar, Rotary Club of Greenland Silchar, Rotary Club of Greater Silchar, Rotary Club of Silchar Central, Rotary Club of Silchar Pink, Innerwheel Club of Silchar, Innerwheel Club of Silchar Saheli, Rotaract Club of Silchar, Rotaract Club of Silchar Royals, Rotaract Club of Assam University Silchar, Rotaract club of GC college Silchar, Rotaract club of A. K. Chanda

Law College, we managed to collect 53 units of blood for the ROTARY CACHAR CANCER BLOOD BANK.

So under this project, we have visited her house for the 2nd time and provided her all the subject wise books necessary for academic year 2022 23 namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Also, We have given special attention to boost her through counseling both morally and academically.

In addition to that, we also promised to keep in touch with her and aid her in her journey to become a doctor.

RAKHIS MADE UP OF THREAD AND SEEDS

Rotaract Club of Silchar Royals has celebrated this special occasion of Raksha Bandhan with the protectors of our society and with our guide Rotary Club of Greenland Silchar at Tarapur, Rangirkhari Police Outposts, Orbit Hotel with an initiative of "rakhis made up of thread and seeds" The ultimate aim is to promote plantation with the minimum effort.

It is a step towards working on the issue of reducing non-biodegradable remains of rakhi and replacing them with seeds that can be sown anywhere and it will lead to growth of little greens.

RAC SILCHAR ROYALS in collaboration with RAC AGARTALA CENTRAL have executed Sanitation Drive in the worst affected places of Silchar. We thank RAC Agartala Central for sponsoring the drive. We look forward to work towards our goal of serving the society.

PROJECT-UDAAN

White pigeon symbolises peace and that's what Rotaract is about. Everyone deserves independence, human or animals, so Rotaract Club of Hailakandi Green City participated in the district project UDAAN. We uncaged two white pigeons which symbolises peace and harmony in presence of our members.

The great grand most awaited project finally became a successful one! We conducted it in collaboration with our Parent club on 15-08-2022. Flag hoisting was done and along with March past competition was being organised. Prizes were distributed and some games and dance competition were being held.

Interschool quiz competition on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was organised on 17th August where 13 schools participated.This project was on the topic of Indian freedom movement which aimed at enhancing knowledge of the students regarding the freedom struggle.

BLOOD DONATION

Blood donation camp was organised by Rotary club of Tinsukia in which we collaborated.23 units of blood were collected.This project would help to save lives of many people.

Our flagship Project revived for the third consecutive Year. Ekhaj 3.0 Rotaract Club of Rongali Guwahati had distributed 30+ prepared food Packets to the people around Sukhleswar Temple.

PRE-NATIONAL

We, the Rotaract Club of Rongali Guwahati, celebrated the pre National Sports Day with various games that our parents and we played during our childhood days, along with our parents and elders to remember their childhoods, on the occasion of National Sports Day, which will be observed on August 29, 2022. We conducted 4 games activities that was 1) Marble and spoon game, 2) Sack race, 3) Thread & Needle, 4) Musical Chair Sergeant at Arms Jaybatra Banarjee from the Rotary Club of Gauhati West, Community Service Director Sudha Laskar mam from the Rotary club of Guwahati Icons, and parents of Rotaractors participated in this truly fantastic endeavour. Along with their parents, PDDR Rtn Dr. Mantu Paul ( District Chief Advisor), PDDR Rtr Deepjyoti Das ( Principal Aide to RSAMDIO President ), and PDS Rtr Amrita Das were also present at the event.

On 2nd August'22, the Rotaract Club of Royal Global University had exchanged the letterhead with the Rotaract Club of Silchar Royals.

2ND INSTALLATION

On 20th August, 2022 the Rotaract Club of Royal Global University, Sponsored by the Rotaract Club of Guwahati City, conducted its 2nd installation "PRARAMBH". The event took place at the seminar hall of the Royal Global University, Guwahati.

The new President, Rtr. Taher Amin Barlaskar and Secretary, Rtr. Harsheeta Bhartia along with the other office bearers for the year 2022 - 2023 took over their positions and responsibilities.

75 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

Rotaract Club Of South Guwahati celebrated 75 years of Independence of India along with Rotary Club of Gauhati South, Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit & IFRM 3240.

ROTARACT CLUB OF SOUTH GUWAHATI held its FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY HELD SUNDAY, AUGUST 7, 2022 ON GOOGLE MEET Guest Speakers ZS- Rtr. Saswati Das, ZRR-Rtr. Mrityunjoy, RCC Rtn Priyama Goswami, Rtn Rajesh Bhatra, PDRR Rtn. Mantu Paul. It’s a very intellectual and interactive session of 45 minutes. The sessions included all the valueable and concise information, from discussion on the main aspects of Rotaract, to benefits of joining the Rotaract club. He also made an effort to inject the Rotaract virus in the young Rotaractors, in a good way. The interaction got even more interesting with the active participation of the the Rotaract members in the QnA segment.

WOMEN'S COLLEGE

The main motive of this project was to distribute food to street dogs. And we got the opportunity to help them. We have distributed almost 20 street dogs.14 members were present in these project.

RAC Imphal collaborated with RAC Pune Pristine Paradise for their project PEHRAAV wherein we made an Instragram Reel highlighting Manipur's culture.
