Jayla Rogers is a third-year interior design student at the University of Florida who works with professors and peers to grow as a creative individual. Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Jayla has always been interested in the arts and design. From choir to journalism, Jayla seeks out ways to express herself, finding interior design to be a perfect fit. From her time in school and her previous endeavors as an editor, Jayla has developed proficient software skills in Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and PowerPoint. Furthering her career while in school, Jayla plans to commence the first steps of becoming NCIDQ certified during her senior year, while also seeking certifications under LEED and WELL. She has also made steps to integrate into the interior design profession through her active participation as an ASID member.

Interested in a career path that is human centered, Jayla has found a grounding in universal design. She hopes to empower the client with a unique environment that meets their needs and provides an equitable experience for all. When designing, Jayla considers four main principles: layers, flexibility, uniformity, and hierarchy. Throughout her educational career, Jayla has worked individually and collaboratively with peers to produce designs that meet these initiatives.

layered. flexible. uniform. hierarchy.
