REGISTERING FOR ACE ASSIGNED COURSES

Please note that our station has a partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools – Adult and Community Education. This aids with our mission and helps promote our training programs throughout the community. Some of our courses are coordinated with our partners and both registration and payments in these courses have to be completed with them instead of with us at the Training Department. To guarantee your spot and register on time members can enroll online at https://aceclasses.fcps.edu or call 703.658.1201.

ACE closes the registrations a week before the class start date. However, if you have any questions about the course or the registration process or if this deadline has passed you may still contact us at the Training Dept.

COURSE DISCOUNTS

(These do not apply to membership or camp fees)

Course fees are due in full when registering with us or with our ACE partners. However, our Training Dept. offers the following discount programs. Discounts are issued to qualifying members once the course begins by our Accounting Department.

• Senior Citizens (age 60+) qualify for a 20% class rebate. For bookkeeping purposes please provide a copy of your driver’s license at the time of the membership registration

• Students qualify for 20% class rebates as part of our regular training courses (High school, Middle schools and local college students all qualify). Please provide a copy of your student ID or latest school registration letter

• Certified members can also earn class credits towards station training classes when they volunteer in approved shows. Please review our volunteer information for further details about this program

Refund options can be combined but not exceed 50% of the original course fee

WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS

To withdraw and receive a full refund or course credits for future classes your request must be received two business days prior to the class start date. Students who cancel with less than two business days of the first day of a class will not receive a refund. However, students will have the option of applying the course fee to another class (class credit) or transfer to the next available class. Processing of refunds takes two weeks and our Accounting Department issues the refund by mailing a check to the student.

COURSE CANCELLATIONS

If inclement weather, an unexpected emergency or insufficient enrollments necessitates canceling a course, we will notify all registered students by email and/or phone as soon as possible. Registrants in canceled courses should contact the Training Dept. for information on a possible makeup session. Students that have paid for a course, which gets canceled, have the option to transfer their enrollment to a future class, receive a course credit, or receive a full payment refund.

TARDINESS OR MISSING A COURSE

Punctuality is very important in all courses. If you know you will miss a session ahead of time, students should contact the instructor and the Training Department as soon as possible. If you are running late for the class please contact the Equipment Room at 571.749.1111 to have staff relay the message to the instructor. If all students are late or do not attend and staff has not been notified of the situation, then instructors are authorized to declare students as

Cont. Tardiness or Missing a Course a no-show and cancel the class after 30 minutes. The course will not be eligible for a make-up session.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

During inclement weather situations please call us at 571.749.1100 or check our website (www.fcac.org) for updates regarding possible early closures or cancellations due to the weather. We tend to follow the same inclement weather closings as Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale campus.
