Here’s what Jay Sawyer of Glenview, IL Has To Say About the Open Internet Preservation Act Introduced In 2017 Jay Sawyer of Glenview, IL, calls the Open Internet Preservation Act that was introduced by the U.S. Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) in late December 2017 a big decision. He says that the bill does not reinstitute the Obama administration’s regulatory framework, but it does aim to prohibit Internet Service Providers from blocking and degrading internet traffic. He acknowledges the other side because the opponents of the bill believe the legislation doesn’t sufficiently regulate the Internet Service Providers. Jay Sawyer of Glenview, IL further says that the Open Internet Preservation Act that was introduced by the U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-La) would help amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit blocking lawful content. He feels that it would limit the authority of the FCC and pre-empt states from imposing their own standards.
