UBBO Plaza is many things at once: it´s an novel Interior/exterior lounge for the mall, it´s a new grand entrance, it´s the place for sports and unique ac�vi�es, it´s a ground-breaking blend of art, retail, and urban-space. UBBO Plaza is many things, and can be even more.

Flexibility, open spaces, surprise and discovery, comfortability, and security were the key elements of this project.

Planters add vegetation and protection to the lounges and the plaza. They also organize the space, circulations and can be used as seating.

UBBO Plaza has an impact not only in the shopping mall, but also in the surrounding areas. The project becomes a new urban park, provides new retail options, and hosts an unique artistic&cultural spot in the city.

Blue Bridge view: The grey Terrazzo area contains activities and the wood-like floor is circulation

“Acoustic clouds”: The sound absorbing panels also works as solar protection.

E x te r io r l o unge The plaza translucent-PET cover provides an unique Interior/Exterior feel. As this area was provided with the necessary protec�on from the elements, it became a living space where diverse ac�vi�es can happen.

Art embracement

The plaza contains many ac�vi�es such as: retail, bars&restaurants, art gallery, skate-park, forum, virtual-reality room, climbing wall, special events, and more. This is the reason for the plaza being so flexible and capable of handling diverse ac�vi�es at the same �me

The open and explicit connec�on between the mall and the plaza is further reinforced by the integra�on of elements of the plaza into the mall, genera�ng a transi�on gallery where light is the background that allows to host small events and special retail op�ons.

Surprise and discovery are an integral part of the plaza and Art is part of the reward for it. In walls, ceilings and with sculptures on the ground, renowned interna�onal ar�st and the design team at TS have given the plaza an unique personality and became a reference in the city.

Unique & nat u ra l The plaza is inspired in nature and the materials&colours chosen for the floor, walls, and ceilings reflect that. Bespoke equipment was designed as a contrast element inside the space in order to be easily seen.

Material & Colour

Blue & Green are the background colours of the plaza. They identify each bridge and helps to find the activities within. This is paired with the natural mood of the plaza done with the materials chosen.

Low impact and easy to fix materials were chosen whenever possible.

Planters Unique design by TS made with a PET-Polyester compound, these planters also work as seating and space divisor elements.
