WINTER OPERATIONS
What YOU Need to Know!
Snow Removal Operations The Town’s Road Operations crews make sure that roads are “winter maintained” in accordance with the provincial minimum maintenance standards (O. Reg. 239/02, as amended). The minimum maintenance standard sets out the requirements for patrolling and snowplowing based on the class of road. This includes the amount of time that is allowed to pass before snowplowing is to commence, as identified by the class of road. Unfortunately, there will always be some snow plowed into driveways (windrows) as a result of snowplow operations; this is unavoidable.
We remind you that it is your responsibility to clear the snow deposited at the end of your driveway.
Winter Parking Bylaw Reminders Residents are reminded that parking on town / public roads is restricted during our “Winter Months”. The Winter Parking Bylaw states that; “During the months of November 1st to April 30th, no person shall park a motor vehicle or permit a motor vehicle to remain parked on any highway between the hours of 12:00 am to 7:00 am.” Vehicles found in contravention will be subject to penalties and may be towed at the owners expense.
