A MEGA JA JOB SHADOW EVENT FOR 1000 STUDENTS! APRIL 2021 In April, JASoCal hosted

VOLUNTEER PERSPECTIVES ON VIRTUAL TEACHING...

In the midst of the challenge of our lifetimes, teaching JA Personal Finance in a virtual setting reminded us of the mission of JA and the powerful impact of the curriculum. The remote technology platform was convenient and intuitive to use, enabling us to teach from the convenience of our home offices. It included all the materials with notes and tips for interactive exercises to engage the students.

YOU MAY BE WONDERING, HOW DID IT GO? During the first session, we were caught off guard that the students were audio only. However, we sensed increased engagement as we went through the material because it was subject matter that was relevant to their lives. We covered budgeting, financial statements, debt, and other financial concepts.

2 RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES DECEMBER 2020 & APRIL 2021 JASoCal also served our local community by hosting two fully booked blood drives in our JA Finance Park facility, in partnership with the Red Cross. Donors gave a total of 89 units of blood which can save up to 267 lives.
