My Story A year ago, I moved to Canada to pursue a diploma in Computer Programming. It was really exciting , but it also that I was stepping into a completely new field. I had zero experience in programming, so everything I was going to learn was completely new to me.

At first I didn’t thought much about programming, but soon I realized programming was not simply about memorizing like in many other subjects, it mostly requireds problem-solving skills and understanding why the code worked the way it did. I was really frustrated and stressed, but I still somehow made it to the 4th semester.

About 1 month ago I told a close friend of mine about my problems and that’s when he introduced me to ChatGPT, and that’s also when things started to change.

What actually happened?

It happened when I was about to do the assignment for my C programming course. This course was very different from all the courses I did so far, this course focused on coding and computers on very deep and fundamental level as well as it was very fast paced and I was unable to keep up with the information at all.

Then came the very first assignment for this course and I wasn’t even able to understand about what to do or how to do it, in this assignment. I was really-really stressed about this subject as the professor was kind of strict with grading and I wasn’t getting particularly good scores on the test.

When I was almost about to lose hope, I finally tried the very famous technology called Chatgpt, that I have heard a lot of people talk about whether on internet or real life, and it changed the way I learned forever.

How ChatGPT Changed My Online Learning Experience

Before using ChatGPT, I typically went to do google searches, looking through various websites, class notes and some other ways to get some information that I wanted to know about, but that kind of process was really time consuming and I spent more of my time for finding the information than actually learning anything.

Although it wasn’t that these methods weren’t helpful, but I usually had to figure things mostly on my own as I didn’t always the answer to the problem I was look for.

ChatGPT changed this experience completely by making learning more interactive and fun for me. Instead of searching for information aimlessly at different places, I was able to have actual discussion with it, as if I were asking an expert who was just there to answer to me and my particular problems. I could ask why a particular thing behaved in a certain way along with examples, or I was able to compare different approaches to solving the same problem to understand why one was better than the other.

Most fun I ever had while learning With its help, I was able to understand what I actually needed to do in the assignment, so I got to work and started the assignment. During the assignment I got stuck on multiple C programming concepts parts, like what a pointer is and how it worked, what’s an array of pointers, how to allocate memory, how to free memory, how to get user input, how to use pointers in structs and a lot more stuff.

And believe me, there isn’t anything more fun than learning and getting answers to your every question and doubts instantly without having to look to for it aimlessly through a mountain of information on search engines, like google.

With its help I got a perfect score on my assignment and from that point forward everything changed for my C course. I went from barely passing in the quiz to getting near perfect scores in the exam and quizess.

Changed my entire way of learning I have seen many people/students use ChatGpt as an answer generator but I believed it was a completely wrong way of using it, at least for a student as myself.

Instead of generating answers I used to make my foundation in various subjects stronger by asking it to prepare quizes, exam materials, projects and other various things that can help me learn more.

Due to this I have seen a lot of improvement in all of my courses and have become more efficient learner. So I believe it definitely did changed the way I learn things forever.
