Summer Field Trip Fun at Armenta Learning Academy We have so many great activities planned for this summer. Feel free to join us for one or all of our field trips! A great way for your kids to be enriched, engaged and stay cool. Field trips are subject to interest and attendance. Tidal Pools: Life and Discovery High and Low Tide, Lunar Pull and Micro Habitats Tidal Pool Discovery and

Dana Point Marine Center

Tidal pools hold a wide variety of unique sea life. We will be exploring the habitats of these animals first hand. The rocks are sharp so be sure to bring old shoes. Remember to bring sun block and supplies for a picnic.

Marine Mammals: Their Habits and Habitats Seals, Sea Lions, Porpoises and Whales Pacific Marine Mammal Center $15.00 per Participant It’s time to take the donations we have collected and go see the animals we are helping. We will take a tour of the center and see where they take care of sick seals and sea lions. After the tour we’ll have a picnic lunch on the grounds.

Beach Day Cleanup and Field Trip A Day at the Beach with ALA $25.00 per Participant Come spend the day at Capistrano Beach cleaning up and having fun. We will spend the day working and playing with swimming, a castle building contest, run relays and have a picnic style lunch together. Bring your sun block, towel, swimming gear, hat and lunch.

Life in the Ocean: Above and Below Macro Habitats, Ocean Population, Sea Life and Pollution Impact Aquarium of the Pacific $30.00 per Participant We will spend the day at the aquarium and take a class about sharks. We will also tour the aquarium and see the diversity of life to be found in our oceans. Lunches will be provided for $8.50 per student.

Au sm Reading Comprehension Classes Ages 5-9 These classes are geared toward children from grade K to 3rd. The program will give your child the founda on and support they need to successfully begin or improve on their journey with reading. They will also be taught reading comprehension tools. This will build words, sentences, vocabulary and comprehension. We have programs for Au s c and Special Needs children, specifically language-delayed and non -verbal learners. Art Class In this fun arts and cra s class we will be doing many hands on cra s. We will be showing the students different ways to make unique art pieces, for example we will be doing: canvas pain ng, origami and design, watercolor pain ng, clay crea ons, charcoal pain ng, sketch and collage art, art por olios, and drawing art. The students will have a chance to get in touch with their ar s c side, get hands on, and create many new things! Gardening Class This gardening class will show your kids how to pot their own succulents, start their own garden of flowers or vegetables using recycled bo les and other recycled materials, paint rocks and shells to add to the garden, learn all about how plants and vegetables grow and survive, create magic bean stocks, make mini greenhouses, and fairy gardens! Nature Class In this nature class we will be teaching the students all about nature, and the different habitats there are. We will be doing a schoolyard habitat, nature art, making rainbows, grow micro greens, make homemade bird feeders and birds nests, create sprout houses to teach the kids about germina on, and more!

Jewelry Making Class In this jewelry making class we will be teaching the students how to make their own cracked marble necklaces, beaded wrapped bracelets, wrapped rings, earrings, anklets, keychains, shoe decora ons and more! This gives the students a chance to be very crea ve, and wear and enjoy their very own masterpieces!

SAT/ACT Testing

It’s that me of year again, SAT/ ACT tests are coming up for high school students! Many start preparing during their sophomore year. Armenta Learning Academy can help your student get a great head start preparing for both with experienced teachers and tutors available from 8:30am to 8:30pm, 7 days a week! ARMENTA ANGELS PACIFIC MARINE MAMMAL CENTER

We are proud to con nue to serve Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) as the recipient of our Armenta Angels Community Outreach Program for the last 10 years. PMMC is a non-profit organiza on dedicated to the rescue, rehabilita on and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County Coastline and to the increasing public awareness of the marine environment through educa on and research.
