I am thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the following works, spaces, and design ideas. Not only have I worked to design and create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and practical; but I also believe that these spaces embrace the essence of their owners and the design intent.
I believe that every space should reflect the personality and needs of the occupant, and have considered that throughout the design process, from ideation to concept and implementation. Thank you in advance for taking the time to look through my portfolio.
The details are not the details. They make the designs.
Hi there! My name is Jared, and I am a highly motivated and creative interior designer passionate about creating beautiful and functional spaces. From a young age, I have always been drawn to the world of design and architecture. I love the idea of taking a blank canvas and transforming it into something that can evoke emotions and inspire others.
While I might have limited experience, I have a keen eye for detail and an easy going attitude that allows me to create stunning and functional spaces. I have worked on numerous projects throughout my academic career, including designing a small apartment, multiple homes and designing and rebranding several commercial spaces. More importantly, I have a strong desire to learn and grow as a designer. I am always seeking new inspiration and ideas to help me push my creative boundaries and develop my skills further.
Beyond my professional career, I am a self proclaimed “foodie”, reader, photography buff, traveller and enjoy spending what other free time I have with friends and family. I often find inspiration in classical design elements and architecture with a slight flair towards the dramatic.

Branding is a key part of the interior design projects (at least for me). Shown here are several examples of the branding portion of projects that have been completed in the past.
Each project starts out with the name of the brand and several design ideas and the requirements for the logo. After reviewing all necessary components and brainstorming, several mockups are completed and presented to the clients for review.
Key branding elements include logo’s, color palette selection, brand mockups (product, social media posts, website layout, etc.).
Atlas Design Studio was a company that was created to fulfil a portion of the professional practice II course of Yorkville University’s Interior design program.
In this course, students needed to research and critique several other design firms and their branding aspects, and then had to design and create their own branding that they would use throughout the rest of the semester.
Branding for this company focuses on the use of soft neutrals to pay homage to the classical design style that brought our modern visions to life. With a focus on softer colors in branding, the designers are able to strategically use color when needed to highlight certain elements or key features in designs.
BRING YOUR WORLD TO LIFE

The branding for Barbacoa is based on the idea of a high class steakhouse meets a relaxed family restaurant. Located in Spruce Grove, AB, Barbacoa mixes class and elegance with the casualness and simplicity of family based dining.
Deep reds offset by lighter tones allow the branding to stand out in all formats, while the hand-drawn bull logo draws reference to the restaurants main passion - barbeque.
Branding for the Pullman Hotel & Spa was done in conjunction with the remodeling and redesign of the existing boutique hotel. Previously known as the Sterling Inn and Spa, the Pullman Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the beautiful city of Niagara Falls, CA.
Redesigned on the idea of an old-world train journey, the branding for this project centered on the use of dark, moody gem tones that are offset with touches of lighter, pale golds.
Branding for this project enhances the opulent design and feelings of luxury upon checking into the hotel.
SEMI CUSTOM HOME
EMERGENCY FIRE SHELTER
NEW YORK TRIPLEX
PENTHOUSE, RENTAL & IN-LAW SUITES
SEMI CUSTOM HOME
SIZE: 2200 SQFT
TYPE: RESIDENTIAL
PALETTE: NEUTRAL
The objective of this project was to create an interior design that emphasizes simplicity, clean lines, and functionality, while providing a sense of peace and tranquility.
The Carl residence aims to embrace the concept & idea of modern minimalism by transforming a residential space into a clutter-free and serene environment that embodies the principles and ethos of modern minimalism with a slight hint of color.
Featuring bright, open rooms across 2200 sqft, this space features four large bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The kitchen features an oversized pantry with plenty of storage, a large eat-at island, and a custom coffee bar.
The Carl residence was a semicustom 2-storey project completed with the aid and guidance of a mentor from a previous design program. These construction documents encouraged a hands-on experience, along with providing first-hand knowledge which has helped to impart the lesson taught in the program.
FIRE-RESISTANT SHELTER
SIZE: 1120 SQFT
TYPE: SHELTER
PALETTE: NATURAL
Focusing on the constant forest fires that affect Northern Alberta, the Ember residence is designed to be a moveable residence that reacts to natural disasters and provides safety, protection, and shelter from these disasters.
Constructed out of several shipping containers, the residence features an outer shell which rises up to create the second level of this home and quickly lowers to act as a fire-shield in the event of an emergency.
Drawing inspiration from native flora and fauna, the Embers Residences is meant to expand and collapse quickly in the event of a natural disaster or relocation. Several different layouts can be accommodated within the Embers Residence, with the current design showcasing a one-bed unit with an adjacent loft.
Researched and designed as part of Yorkville University’s Moving Spaces design studio, the Embers residence showcases unique features such as a raising second level, off-grid utilities, and an easy-move-system where the whole unit is able to be moved on a flatbed.
NEW YORK TRI-PLEX

The New York Tri-plex project, designed in tandem with 2 other interior designers, focused on the creation of 3 unique spaces (primary penthouse, accessible in-law suite, and rental suite) within an existing 4,500 sq.ft. floorplate. Within this project, I focused on the design, layout, and presentation of the additional rental suite, which centered on creating a short term rental that embodied the spirit and lifestyle of New York city.

CASUAL STEAKHOUSE

The Barbacoa Project was undertaken in partnership with Chris Kourouniotis of CKDESIGN INC. in Edmonton, AB. Located in Spruce Grove, AB Barbacoa was a complete rebranding and redesign and development which included developing the logo, branding, color scheme, layouts, and selection of materials and fixtures.
The owners of Barbacoa were looking to do a complete re-branding and redesign of the current space that the restaurant utilizes and were extremely happy with the way that the design turned out.
Choosing to center the design on the company philosophy of “authentic and comforting atmosphere where people can gather for a casual steakhouse experience” the design uses several large family-style tables where everyone is welcome and included.
