Can airlines and online businesses be compared?

Airlines and online businesses have much more in common than what you imagine. Since my blog post more than four and half years ago, the curiosity to compare airlines and online businesses has always been there.

Two days before the new year, the article invited all readers to join in for a new year journey, like an airplane trip. The success of the article was tremendous. Probably the connection with an airline journey to each and everyone’s own life and challenges ahead made the difference.

More than four years later, the explanation, or at least my view of the similarities between airlines and online businesses, will be revealed in this article.

Business model Airlines, like all other industries, have their business models. In the case of airlines, there are different ways to distinguish the different models. There are plenty of different business models. However, you can always divide the airline industry into three categories: 1/4

1. Regional flights 2. National flights 3. International flights Comparing to an online business, you do the same type of business model listing.

1. Local business 2. National business 3. Global business A local business could be, for example, a plumber searching for new customers locally. It could also be a web-based platform to help customers troubleshoot before calling a service technician. The website can also be a platform for service booking, as well as sales of plumber parts.

An example of national business could be service for tax and legal advice, based on the laws and rules in the particular country.

Global businesses make offers and services that you can use in any country. Amazon is a good example. When they started in 1994, it was a typical national company focusing on one single product: books. Today it’s a global company present on all continents, offering a wide range of products in multiple niches.

To start an online business is something that anybody can do today. The amount of investment capital is no longer a hurdle. Of course, the amount of money you’re willing to put into your business will also determine how your business will look like.

Flight classes When buying an airplane ticket, you will have the option to choose among different classes.

They are all called by different names, but for the sake of this article, let’s label them as economy class, business class, and first class.

You know very well that there are certain differences between the three classes. Depending on what you’re willing to pay, you will be offered various services, food, beverage, and comfort.

No matter which class you’re choosing, they will all take you from point A to point B at the same time.

An online business works with the same setup strategy. The more you’re willing to pay, the more benefits you will get in return. It could be that you will get much more added to your necessary platform to successfully manage your online business.

Things like systems to build your website, training, coaching, automation, and a myriad of other things, make all the difference. It’s precisely the same thinking behind the strategy as the different flight classes. The more you pay, the more you get. But you will all make the same journey, some more comfortable and with more service than others.

Regular flight vs. charter Sometimes, people who would like to start their own online business don’t know where to begin. On top of that, they do not have any products to sell. Curious, but airlines and online businesses have this in common as well.

Most of us have some time in life made a charter journey. You get a kind of all-included package; the flight, hotel, food, etc. It’s an excellent alternative if you don’t know how to put together the journey.

In an online business, we have our own “charter” alternative, called affiliate marketing. You get everything you need to start your business right away; product, system, platform, training, coaching. In the same way, you probably make new friends when on a charter tour; you will get access to a fantastic like-minded community when going for the affiliate marketing alternative.

Airlines and Online Businesses Always Need New Passengers

One of the main reasons airlines offer different flight classes is to cover the potential market as broadly as possible. Some prefer to pay for the extra comfort, while others can accept anything as long as they come on board and make the journey.

What you will be experiencing today is something unique. It’s a first class journey in the online business world, but only paying for economy class.

We call it for our All-In-Package, and as you can imagine, these seats will literally be flying.

So, hurry up to not lose the train, sorry, the flight.
