MOTIVATION LETTER We all dream but there are only a few who are courageous enough to work up in bringing those dreams into reality and it won’t be wrong if I tell you that I’m among those courageous souls. Watching my NMO progress and attain new heights has always been my utmost priority and if there comes a chance of contributing towards it, I will be the one always stepping forward.

My name is Janita zarrish and I’m a final year MBBS student at Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. I’m presenting my candidature for the post of Secretary General IFMSA-Pakistan for the term 2020-21. I have been working with IFMSA since 2017. I have worked in close relationship with Secretary General IFMSAPakistan 2019-20, headed SRT’19 registrations being international registration head, worked in VPA and VPI national teams and now serving as President IFMSA-Pakistan BUMHS-LC for the past one year. My journey for IFMSAPakistan has expressed as inspirational stories. I’m one of the only two IFMSAPakistan members who secured WFME’s paid internships in ferney-voltaire, France.

I was the only fortunate member who represented IFMSA-Pakistan at International conference on medical education(ICME) along with IFMSAPakistan’s Supco and EB members.

For the past 3 years I have seen the secretary general and her team working tirelessly to streamline all the official networking and membership drives via IFMSA-Pakistan website. I have seen their struggle to reach this point closely and finally decided to step up and take the lead this term to continue the legacy

because I have previously been involved in recreation of multiple databases and already working on website designing for my personal business, have hands-on experience in this field and find myself the best candidate for this post.My sole vision to apply for this post is to offer my expertise to see my NMO growing, because this NMO has given us more than we could ever give it back. I have always tried to exceed my capacity and give back to this organization whenever I had the chance, because in my opinion if you really want to do something there is almost nothing that can stop you from achieving it.

Seeing this NMO raised to new heights is what I have always wanted and with my leadership skills, my team playing qualities, my previous experience and out of the box thinking nature makes me believe I will be a great choice for this post. My dedication is at its peak and my motivation is well planned for taking over this great responsibility and delivering my record best to see this NMO soaring and setting new precedents for the rest of the world.

PLAN OF ACTION HAND OVER NATIONAL CALENDER SERCRETARY GENERAL TEAM.

Handover: Meeting with the previous Secretary General to discuss the shortcomings andstrengths she had during her term. Will be acknowledging them and trying to avoid the same shortcomings and will be focusing on making strengths stronger.

Handover of all the previous data to avoid the unnecessary repetition and maintain the follow ups.

Calendar: I’ll be formulating an yearly calendar with the help of the president and sending it to the National Cabinet and Local councils. It will help all of us to be pre informed about the whole timeline and manage our schedules according to it.

Secretary general Team: I’ll be making a precise and competent secretary general team who will work in coherence with me and will provide its assistance at national and local levels whenever needed. I’ll be regionalising my team. It will come directly in contact with the local president and secretary general to address their confusions related to the new system of memberships.

Training of National Cabinet: Success always comes through team efforts. I will be training my whole national cabinet and allocating them their official accounts on the website to efficiently function it and perform their duties.

Training of all the local presidents, Secretary generals, VPAs and Exchange officers: Keeping in view the goals of sustainability of our databases and the newly launched website this term will be particularly challenging and will ask for a lot of experience. I am fortunate enough to have had a vast experience with managing databases and outsourcing members, therefore I will be able to better train the local presidents, secretary generals, VPAs and Exchange officers regarding the process of being opted for memberships, activities and exchanges through the use of the website. This will be the beginning of a new chapter of the NMO in which every LC would have their own account where they would be able to process their memberships, activities and exchanges with the portals provided to them.

Milestone TWO RECOGNITION OF ALL LOCAL OFFICERS FACILITATION OF MEMBERSHIP DRIVES

Recognition of all Local officers. Local councils are the backbone of the NMO and all their members deserve recognition for their efforts they put forward for the sustainability of the NMO.I’ll be setting trends to give recognition letters to all the local officers at the end of the term.

Membership drives: Me and my team would be facilitating local secretary generals for their local membership drives with the help of VPCB and VPE. We will be advocating what national and international opportunities they can grab through becoming a simple IFMSA member and would be rewarding the LCs to appreciate their work.

WHATSAPP GROUPS UPDATED DATABASES BIMONTHLY REPORTS WARNING LETTERS ASSISTANCE

Creation of Whatsapp group: I will make a whatsapp group of all the local general secretaries to take them all on the board for an easy approach. It will help me, my team and them to maintain sustainable communication with each other.

Updated databases: I will be maintaining the database with complete information about the new memberships, team of officials and alumni.

Preparation of meeting agendas and recording of minutes. Will be communicating with EB and NC to determine the agenda of the meetings to address the shortcomings being faced at all the levels and recording minutes and dispatching them.

Bimonthly reports: I will be seeking bimonthly reports from the National cabinet for their progress during the term and from the local secretary general for memberships. I’ll be sending them continuous reminders so they could efficiently meet the deadlines.

Warning letters: I will be placing inquiry and issuing warning letters in case of any complaints reported. Updated Constitution and bylaws: Helping EB in changing bylaws whenever and wherever needed.

ASSISTING VPI, VPE and Treasurer: I will be assisting VPI in maintaining connectivity with the members and helping VPE and Treasurer in fundraising.
