The Brief : Design a temporary pop-up space located in Shoreditch, London that responds to the needs of an “under-represented” community. The Interval Space provides the opportunity to link abandoned urban spaces with aspiring start-up enterprises and communities.

My Response: This intervention exists to create a new environment for struggling artists and performers to come and use the stage as an opportunity for greatness. The Culture Collective, is a space that ‘amplifies’ the voices that go unheard within society and works in collaboration with local music studios.

My Response: My project explores the theatricality of spaces; theatre is subcategory of drama and drama surrounds us. This ‘Bibliotheatre’ serves as a social enterprise, hosting the diverse energies of the Shoreditch Community, bridging them together through the enduring power of theatrical intimacy.

The task was to design a visitor centre that would bring communities together.

My Response: My project explores the hardship and journey that the Mass Trespassers took, in their search for freedom. It incorporates the mental, physical and psychological effects of the trespass on the partakers. These ideas are integrated in the design through: Interactions. Education. Informal Borders and Multiple Access Routes.

The Brief : Design a small-scale addition to the Pilkington Library Roof space area. ; It must have a direct independent access to one of the walkways around the library and, it may also connect to the library floors underneath.

My Response: The Break’n’Bake Intervention will take the rectilinear nature of the library and transform it into a liberal curvilinear environment. The Process of Baking allows the students to de-stress and also reward themselves with a sweet treat.

The Brief : Vertical one-floor extension to the Keith Green Building in the Loughborough Campus, which integrates all three LU-Arc Undergraduate programs.

The Response: The design features a mezzanine level, and facade remodel which provides solar shading and encourages wildlife growth.

The extension is a double-height studio space, that encourages both individual and group progression through the concept of reconnection.

The Brief : The design of a Pavilion using an element that is repeated. The elements that are multiplied to make forms/surfaces can be identical (Mass-produced) or similar with small modifications for each unit (mass-customized).

The Response: An ‘S’ shaped pavilion contradictory to the traditional typology; a visually permeable structure with two spaces which establish visual but not physical contact, reflecting on life during the lock down.
