Drain water from shrimps and put them in a bowl. Add marinade and stir. Arrange shrimps on bruschetta and top with coarsely chopped cashew nuts. Garnish with fresh thyme.

Cut potatoes into bite-size chunks and toss with sea salt and oil.

Bake the potatoes in oven at 200° C until golden and crisp.

Divide the potatoes into four portions.

Mix ketchup with vinegar and spread over each portion. Add 1 tbsp. mayonnaise on top. Garnish with fresh parsley or pea shoots.

Mix mango vinegar, plain vinegar, spices, sugar and pepper in a small pot and bring it to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Cut cauliflower and romanesco into bite-sizes and onions into small slices.

Mix vegetables with pickle and pour the entire mix into a jar.

Let it cool and wait at least two hours before serving.

Can be stored in fridge for up to three weeks.

Kenya Book Box’s mission is to establish small school libraries for children in Kibera – a very large slum with extreme poverty. This is made possible with the help of donations and by involvement from the local schools.

The books donated by Kenya Book Box are in Swahili and English, primarily

by African authors, to reflect a reality the children can relate to. For each library, the aim is to collect approximately 400 books that vary in difficulty.

BODY EXFOLIATION

Exfoliation helps revitalise our skin and remove dead skin cells. It’s particularly great to do before a vacation, as it will result in a more even and longer lasting tan.

ADD MOISTURE

Salt water, sand and sun can be rough on our skin. And despite humid weather, a nourishing and moisturising lotion is vital even during summer.

Nothing says summer like a natural, sun-kissed glow.

If you want to avoid too much sun, you can get a little help from some self-tanning drops or add a bit of sparkle with a luxurious shimmer oil.

STAY SAFE IN THE SUN

Take care of yourself when the sun is out.

Sun lotion is the best protection against the sun’s ultraviolet rays, so remember to apply it often and generously.

Designing a collection All year around, new products are brought to life and added to the existing universe of House Doctor. But before the products become available in the shops, an extensive process goes into creating these unique items.

The first step of the creative process is inspiration: “When designing a new collection, finding inspiration for materials, structures and colours is key.

Something as simple as a subtle detail can inspire the birth of a completely new item,” says Senior Designer, Bettina Jonsson.

Like people, a brand has its own, unique DNA – a set of significant characteristics that are distinctive no matter what product is on the drawing board.

“House Doctor’s DNA is fundamental when creating a new collection.

When working in design, we know exactly what materials and colours will work.

And for the spring summer 2020 collection, art and the handmade has been our main focus. From the overall concept to the details, it is visible in the colours, lines, patterns and structures of the products,” says Bettina.

When the design team is done gathering inspiration, the actual design process begins: “We start by drawing the styles that will make up the collection. Pretty much everything is drawn from scratch, which helps ensure a common thread throughout the collection,�
