Childhood Reimagined
Exhibition Dates: September 16 – October 14, 2024
Janet Rady Fine Art is pleased to announce "Childhood Reimagined," an evocative online exhibition exploring the nuances of childhood through the eyes of contemporary artists. The virtual viewing room will be live from September 16 to October 14, 2024 on our artsy channel and website.
This exclusive online exhibition features a carefully curated selection of works that delve into the memories, joys, and complexities of childhood. Showcasing pieces by emerging and established artists, "Childhood Reimagined" invites viewers to immerse themselves in the diverse perspectives and emotions associated with this formative stage of life.
Featured artists include Jules Disso, whose vibrant acrylic works like Magni (2024) and Ma'a Mboh-Mboh (2024) capture the warmth and familial connections of early years. Jeffery Baidoo’s textured fabric compositions, including Hopeful 2 (2024) and Emotional Look (2024), convey the innocence and wonder of youth. Yasser Claud-Ennin’s poignant pieces, such as In a World of Our Own (2023) and Round and Round We Go (2022), offer tender reflections on the simplicity and beauty of childhood moments.
Additional highlights include Theophilus Tetteh’s The Other Side of the Story You Were Not Told (2023), Joshua Donkor’s Kwami Generational Memories (2023), and Moses Mous’s Repè et Muna (Father and Son) (2022), which explore themes of intergenerational bonds and memory. Meanwhile, Malekeh Nayiny's evocative digital prints, Togetherness (2022) and Our Teddy Takes Care of Us (2022), explore the whimsical and fleeting nature of childhood through vibrant visual symbolism. Shadi Abousada's Conversation (2022) and Amy Dury's Retelling (2024) and Starry Eyes (2024) evoke the narratives of childhood through vivid visual storytelling.
Complementing these visual narratives, we draw inspiration from the words of poet William Blake, who captures the joy and purity of youth in his poem, Laughing Song:
"When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy, And the dimpling stream runs laughing by; When the air does laugh with our merry wit, And the green hill laughs with the noise of it."
This exhibition serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of childhood on our lives, shaping who we become and how we see the world.
Janet Rady Fine Art invites you to visit our online viewing room from September 16 to October 14. Explore the rich tapestry of childhood memories and discover how these artists reimagine this universal theme
