AllinternationalstudentsplanningtostudyinNovaScotiamust applyforastudypermitthroughImmigration,Refugeesand CitizenshipCanada(IRCC).Asof2024,anewrequirementhasbeen introduced:theProvincialAttestationLetter(PAL).
Whatyouneedtoknow:
AfterreceivinganofferofadmissionfromaDesignatedLearning Institution(DLI),yourschoolwillrequestaPALonyourbehalf. You’llneedboththePALandyouracceptancelettertoapplyfor astudypermit.
Bepreparedtoshowproofoffunds(fortuitionandliving expenses)andensureyourpassportisvalid.
Theapplicationprocessmaytakeseveralweeks applyasearly aspossible.
Onceapproved,yourstudypermitwillbeissuedwhenyouarriveat aCanadianportofentry.Besuretocarryallnecessarydocuments inyourcarry-onbagwhentraveling,includingyourLetterof IntroductionfromIRCC,yourPAL,andyourschool’sacceptance letter.
