I have a passion for creative visions, their realization, and being inspired by multiple cultures.

Over the years, I have learned that it matters who surrounds you, that you need a certain amount of trust and the ability to delegate responsibility to other people.

As a client-facing project Architect, I am used to working with teams of Architects to bring solid architectural concepts with basic design schemes and ideas and driving projects through all documentation phases, coordination and implementation on site. As a team leader, I love to motivate people to use their enthusiasm for work, but as an MEP site manager, I have also learned that you need a hierarchy and rules that have to be followed. Big ego and arrogance often lead to arguments and poor performance. So I have learnt the importance of being communicative, assertive, humble, open-minded and willing to learn new things. As a person who is used to working in cooperative environments, I like with teams were everyone can bring some something valuable to the table.

I graduated with a Master´s degree in architecture and urbanism with a master plan of the town broad centre of Strakonice in the spring of 2015. After that, I went through almost all disciplines in architecture. In a team, we created several masterplans for Brno and Prague. I have also participated in designing residential buildings, hotels, private villas, office buildings, culture centres, sports centres, retail buildings, etc.

The main focus in recent years has been on office fit-outs and competitions, where I promoted to the position of project client-facing architect. Part of the job is to create the main conceptual ideas, developing them with the designing team to detail and holding them through all project phases, coordinating multidisciplinary professions and implementation on site. During the designing process, we check proposals with the client budget and make necessary corrections, including our work schedules and allocated budget.

Most recently, I have been continuously working on my skills in parametric design in BIM, using Python, IfcOpenshell, Grasshopper and Dynamo for Revit, by taking a postgraduate course from the Zigurat Institute of Technology in Barcelona for 12 weeks and by taking workshops organized by Nordfy and held by one of the most disrupted architectural practices in our world (Alexander Jacobson - BIG, Cosimo Scotuzi -MVRDV, Arturo Tedeschi,...).

Amazed by the new fast pacing digital era, I am looking at improving my workflows through these tools and mostly open-source interoperative cloud platforms such as Speckle. But also note that I am still new in this realm, and to feel comfortable, I need a little more time

The central staircase situated in the center of the office connects all 3 floors and serves as the main meeting area surrounded by a cosy kitchen, relax zones, meeting points and hot desks.

The spaceplan is organized like a city following the characteristics of urbanistic concepts like central square, main axes, side areas, parks, riverside. This system results in clear orientation and understandable wayfinding.

Background summary:

I worked from the first kick off of ideas, all documentation, to the coordination of implementation on site as the design architect with the studio´s Managing director, working as PM and the principal “business” architect of YUAR.

For the studio, it was one of the first great opportunities to do large-scale fit-outs for good money. We created and further developed the concept of a town perception. For instance, that means the corridor isn´t just a space for walking but also for interacting with other people. Then we started to create opportunities to be so. We also made town squares and connected them with a large staircase. We built a strong hierarchy of space identification, etc.

We have been awarded by a Czech renovated architect for our architectural approach, and based on that success, we also got the opportunity to work for other exciting clients.

The conference centre for Siemens is conceived to hold major conferences, company events or smaller meetings. It has a fully operational kitchen with storage for caterings, a welcoming waiting area and access to an outdoor atrium. It houses a big conference room for up to 200 people which is easily dividable into 5 smaller meeting rooms. All meeting rooms are fully equipped with the latest technology in videoconference and booking systems.

The design concept of the conference centre is the concept of a ‘space in a space’ or a ‘box in a box’. The ‘meeting box’ stands in the middle of the room like a giant corpus that secures the privacy of information exchanged inside. The outside box is entirely surrounded by large windows to let the nature communicate with the cosy materials chosen for the interior. A larger window also creates the link between both boxes, delimited though by the dramatic contrast of in- and outside colour tones.

From the client, handled a previous design of space organisation that I call “cut salami”. :) Based on space quality and its strengths, we changed its organisation entirely and created a light and spacy foyer with a built-in conference room.

A clear division between private and public space is achieved through the contrast of colours, the darker centre part as a public zone, and the light open space scattered around the service zones.

Located in Holešovice, the design shows raw steel to reflect the area’s history of craftsmanship, as well as featuring a huge centrepiece serving as reception and bar resembling the cranes of the marina. As a visionary building it features large floor-to-ceiling windows. The orientation of the main axes of corridors and open space is set to draw attention to 2 main points of attractions, Hradčany and Vyšehrad.

POVODÍ VLTAVY - OFFICE BUILDING

location: Strakonice, South Bohemia, Czech Republic, EU

The new administrative building with the supported services is located on the edge of an industrial zone, wedged between an overloaded state road and a dog shelter, adjacent in close proximity to the Otava river behind the anti-flood embankment.

The regular office building represents part of the catchment area of the Vltava river. From that point of view, the architecture is considered with dignified character but still be perceived as a part of its suburban landscape and supporting the local microclimate if its function allows it.

Conditional conservative arrangements of workplaces and the whole layout are set to react and communicate with their immediate surroundings.

The renovation of the town square was suggested decades ago with many unsuccessful discussions, because of the many complications. Even after an architectural competition, the final solution wasn´t found. The first price was not awarded, only the second and third places.

In the end, our design, awarded third place, was addressed by the investor and is completing to the realization.

Proposed University buildings fill empty “places” in the urbanism of the campus of Charles University in Prague. The program of building was rich, and we fought as much as we could to get as much as possible “interconnecting” space for people.

Although many opinions are visible on the proposal and there was no success, I consider this international competition as rich experience of organizing a team of architects and designing processes in a large-scale context.

WORKS AS MEP SITE MANAGER

2 DISTRICT HOSPITALS in SOMANAY & WHETA, GHANA (English speaking country)

I worked as Freelance MEP Site Manager for a Czech company Maxprogres s.r.o. Our job was to deliver mechanical and electrical systems to newly built District hospitals in Somanya and Wheta.

AS an M&E Site Manager, I had to Coordinating installation works on site, Checking the quality of implementation according to British, Austria and Ghana standards, Communicating with other participants like construction site managers, supervisors, etc., regularly participating in site meetings, finalize daily reports, sending reports to the leading Project manager, coordinating drawings and implementation with project designers.
