A pair of Victorian Irish gilt brass armorial carriage appliques, with the arms of Burke and Canning accollee, each decorated with chained mountain cats, with the motto 'UN ROY UN FOY UN LOY', 13.5 x 20.7cm. (2) £200-300 The arms are marshalled in this way to show that UIick John Burke (1802-1874), 14th Earl of Clanricarde, who was created 1st Marquess of Clanricarde in 1825, could display the collar of the Order of St. Patrick he was granted on the 19th October 1831 and that this honour did not apply to the Canning shield of his wife's family. 51. Three Victorian copper and brass graduated haystack measures, the largest stamped ‘DE GRAVE SHORT & CO LTD LONDON 4291’ with a duty mark to the rim, the others ‘GALLON’ and ‘HALF-GALLON’, 38.4cm high (max). (3) £100-150

A graduated set of six Victorian imperial bronze measures, each inscribed ‘THE BOROUGH OF BEWDLEY WORCESTERSHIRE’, four dated ‘1849’, two dated ‘1875’, comprising: Imperial Quart, Imperial Pint, Imperial Half-Pint, Imperial Gill, Imperial Half-Gill and Imperial Quart-Gill, also stamped ‘1021’, the rims with various duty marks, 13.5cm high, 12.5cm diameter (max).
