A scarce WWI US 1917 Trench Knife, with 17.5cm triangular steel blade and faint markings of US 1917 and maker LFC & C on cross-guard, wooden grip studded knuckle-bow, 30.5cm long overall Provenance: Recovered during a clean up of the former US Army positions of the Argonne woods France in 1919. A collection of WWI nurses uniforms worn by Emily Cozens, VAD, Gloucestershire, comprising 4 uniforms, 3 in mid blue cloth and another in darker cloth with white stripe on arms to denote length of service and each with white linen apron and embroidered red cross insigina with additional accessories including 2 pairs of bloomers, under slip, long slip, 1 bra, 3 cami top etc, many pieces inscribed E Cozens 1917 together with a framed British Red Cross Society certificate presented to Emily Cozens having completed Five years service as a Member of the Voluntary Aid Detachment Gloucestershire 38, dated 12th April 1918, 30 x 24cm, with card mount aperture Miss Emily Anna Cozens lived at Beaufort House, Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, she served with the British Red Cross as a nurse from 5 November 1917 to 31 March 1919 (2nd Western General Hospital).
