A Continental silver cigarette box commemorating the ‘Raid Rubin’ which was carried out by Ken Waller and Belgian Captain Teddy Franchomme from 20 to 22 December 1934, the lid engraved with a flight path and engraved Teddy M Franchomme with the date 20-28 Decembre 1934, ceder lined, the base stamped ‘Simonet 900 Bruxelles’, 4cm high x 14.5cm wide x 8.5cm deep The Raid Rubin was carried out by Ken Waller and Belgian aviator Captain Teddy Franchomme aboard the twin-engine aircraft Reine Astrid, a Havilland Comet 400 C.V. lent by Bernard Rubin, from Brussels in Belgium to Leopoldville in the Belgian Congo, via Oran and Niamey, from 20 to 22 December 1934, returning by the same route 26 to 28 December.
