TradeMark’s Creed: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” - Abraham Lincoln We at the TradeMark group like to think that we have a lot of life in our years. And where there is a lot of life, there is a lot of experience. Experience that helps us when we are working for you. Because a great campaign relies on more than just a random assortment of witty quotes and pretty images. A great campaign has substance, and substance sticks around. Here at TradeMark we create the campaigns that your grandchildren will still be talking about when they’re your age. Just like President Lincoln never backed down from a challenge, neither will we. Whether it is a question that needs to be answered after the close of business or a problem that needs to be solved on the spot, The TradeMark Group is there to assist with any and every issue that goes into a high profile campaign. Let us be the cog that brings your machine to life.

Grant T. Shumaker Once in a blue moon a child is born who is so special, so important, that it changes the world forever. Grant T. Shumaker was most likely not that child. However; Grant has set out to leave his mark on the world and has taken his first step toward memorability here at TradeMark. Born and raised in Midlothian, Virginia Grant found his love of advertising after working on an abstinence campaign for the local Sexual Education clinic. Grant currently attends Penn State University as a Senior majoring in advertising with a double minor in Psychology and English. He especially enjoys the creative aspects of advertising and intends to become a copy writer after he graduates. The Summer after his junior year Grant completed an internship with BCF in Virginia Beach where he worked on campaigns for Operation Smile, Virginia Beach Tourism, Visit Fredericksburgh, and the Virginia Brewers Coalition. Grant also participated in the 2012 AAF Competition with the Penn State Nittany Group which placed 1st in the first round of competition in New York. Outside of his studies Grant also enjoys drawing, writing short stories, running, and listening to a variety of music. His favorite band is Muse and he has seen them in concert three times already and has a fourth concert planned.

Creative Strategy Analysis

8

After looking at the Multi-Attribute Model Analysis for the Lincoln brand as well its competitors, we have found that Lincoln was perceived to have the worst performance, style, interior design, and fuel economy. This is contrary to what Lincoln actually offers. Due to this discrepancy we have decided the best way to approach this campaign was to reestablish the Lincoln brand in our target group’s mind. While a majority of the target group is familiar or at least aware of Lincoln, they do not know much about Lincoln’s current lineup or the features they offer. Through the campaign we will aim to change the perception of the brand as outdated. We will do this by focusing on and promoting the luxury and comfort features that each Lincoln automobile possesses, as well as the steps Lincoln is taking to improve the style and design of their lineup. From the spacious, heated seats to the THX II sound system quality, people will become aware of what the Lincoln brand is able to offer.

Creative Executions Taking into consideration both the outdated perception of Lincoln’s brand as well as the high tech features that this lineup of Lincoln automobiles have to offer, the theme/slogan of this campaign will be “Drive Emancipated”. Drawing from the most famous Lincoln in American history, 16th President Abraham Lincoln, who started a new era of freedom with his Emancipation Proclamation, our campaign will promote the idea of breaking free from the traditions and perceptions of old. We believe that this idea of emancipation, as well as the appearance of Lincoln’s famous top hat continuously being left behind for newer styles, will catch the attention of our target audience and entice them to find out more about Lincoln’s current lineup of automobiles which features some very new and beneficial technologies.
