Introduction

Architecture is possibility. It offers opportunities for scenarios to occur within certain contexts.

Architecture is a combination of function, aesthetics, and visions for habitat.

I attempt to explore the potential of sites by creating spaces that bring about values for the sites and enhance the experience.

Throughout the design processes, I utilize a narrative methodology that construct spaces, focusing on the atmospheres they evoke and the scenarios they facilitate. This approach is also the foundation of the representation of my projects.

I am aware that designs may sometimes only be architects’ aspirations. However, I find the inherent uncertainty in architecture to be its most captivating aspect. As an architect, I believe in the importance of aligning aspirations with a site’s potential, and embracing the inherent unpredictability of the creative journey.

Buildings

Display of Time

The intervention as a platform for the ruin and its relation to time and dissolution. Placed under the fortress and entered only through experiencing it, the monastery becomes a place of contrast. The inner space as an isolated space inside the cliff. The meeting as an exposed space, only separated from the ocean by a curtain, dissolving itself like the ruin.

The Attic

Kindergarten | Gothenburg, Sweden

Attic is sometimes a hidden place in a house, and also could be a secret space for kids to play. A kindergarten could possess a space exclusive for children. In this project an indoor playground with atmosphere of attic is set on the second floor. Kids are free up there, and they can always enjoy themselves no matter what weather it is.

The kindergarten can accommodate 60 kids with age of 3-6 and 30 babies from 0 to 3 years old. It consists two buildings which creates a path in between, in order to remain the main circulation from the main pathway to Plikta playground

The Village

Senior housing | Gothenburg, Sweden

In the village residents are always free, despite their conditions of dementia. They live here and form a community. It has everything needed close by, with a town hall, market hall, an ateljé where events are held, and different outdoor spaces.

The concept is combining a scale of small village with the greenery and city surrounding, to create a community, where the seniors can find everything they need.

The greenery and other outdoor areas are made into everyday living spaces for the people living with dementia.

The 10 units are divided into multiple buildings in 4 groups. In-between spaces hence become streets in the village.

Each group has two connected buildings and an open courtyard.

Double apartments

The row house is designed for residents who want to live together but are in need of assistance. It is one floor, four double apartments that are 69sqm with small backyards facing the village park and each apartment has two bedrooms. One is larger and the other is smaller by the entrance, which can be used as an extra room for the elderly who might need more assistance or a guest room or a working space. Here the couples can live a normal life with a little help from the village staff.

Yoga retreats| Sanya, China

Ongoing project

Located in a resort city on a southern Chinese island, this yoga retreat is surrounded by scenery of mountains and the sea. The interior design aims to create a minimalist Zen space, based on the concept of “The emptiness makes it a room” in the Tao Te Ching.

Material/color palette

From the closed entrance space (reception hall) to the group yoga room and meditation rooms with scenic views, the design intends to create a transition from darkness to brightness through the treatment of materials, colors, and lighting.

Sushi restaurant concept| Malmö, Sweden

Inspired by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s photography Boden Sea, the ambiance of the restaurant is intended to bring an oriental serenity, with white rice lamps above the space, off-white walls in the middle, and a deep blue “ocean” in the lower part and on the floor, highlighted by Swedish artist Jenny Nordberg’s Mirror, with custom-made furniture.
