Establishing a Scholarship ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS An endowed scholarship provides a permanent and personal way for you to make a difference in the life of a University of Jamestown student. Most of our students need financial aid to achieve their dreams of attaining a University education. You can help them turn their dreams into reality by establishing an endowed scholarship fund. Scholarships are a lifeline for our students, conveying a message that transcends the financial benefits they provide. To many students the support of their educational goals is a validation of their self-worth and a source of encouragement. Our students prove they deserve the faith and support provided by scholarship donors. Your gift will be greatly appreciated by the University of Jamestown and by the student recipient of your generosity. There are three steps to establishing a named scholarship: • Name the scholarship. • Outline the conditions that will govern awarding the scholarship proceeds. ˏˏ Examples: student may have a suggested major, have a minimum grade point average, or come from a specific geographic area. • Contribute a minimum of $10,000 to the University of Jamestown’s endowment fund in the form of cash, securities, an operating trust fund, or even a pledge. The University of Jamestown Board of Trustees will invest your scholarship money in a diverse investment portfolio and will distribute earnings to qualified students according to the terms of your scholarship.
The Jimmie Generation Scholarship Program—Pass It On! The Jimmie Generation Scholarship Program is an opportunity for alumni and friends to pass on your pride in the University of Jamestown by supporting a student-scholar, student-artist, or student-athlete. These annual cash scholarships will enable more students to receive the quality private liberal arts education that the University of Jamestown offers—and they are an affordable way for you to have an immediate, positive impact upon the life of a current Jimmie. • Jimmie Generation Scholarships may be established at levels ranging from $500 - and above • A Jimmie Generation Scholarship includes a 4-year pledge in support of a student-scholar, student-athlete, or student-artist.
