WELFARE.

British racing aims to set a world standard in equine welfare within racing through organisations such as the Horse Welfare Board, an independently chaired panel who have been formed to unite the industry and drive continuous improvement.

Retraining Of Racehorses (RoR) gives a second career to racehorses, allowing them to enjoy a fulfilled life when they retire.

The British landscape offers a wide variety of open spaces and pastures for young stock, racehorses, breeding stock and retired horses. Training yards and breeding farms are based in rural areas and are often equipped with large paddocks and the best equine rehabilitation facilities. Nearby equine veterinary practices are also common to cater for any needs.

Retraining Of Racehorses (RoR) cares for the welfare of retired racehorses and makes sure they have a good life after their careers on the racecourse.

Over the last 20 years, British racing has invested £47 million in veterinary research and education to maintain the highest welfare standards.
