This week, all classes have been writing about Health Week. The quality of the writing has been excellent so I’ve chosen some particularly successful pieces to share with you.
Well done Savannah in Reflective Class. Miss Wilczek is super proud of the progress you have made this year.
A special shout out goes to Hazal In Resilient Class for her delicious description of a strawberry and Laura in Kind Class for her Health Week recount.
This is a fantastic, and very informative, non-chronological report by Theo in Respectful Class. I’ve been looking forward to the Women’s World Cup but didn’t know much about the tournament this summer so this report provided me with all the information I needed.
I love this diary of Health Week that Sophie, from Successful Class, has written. I Particularly like her sentence, ‘I had my sportiest trainers on, ready to win.
Another shout out should go to Eliza and Sarah in Capable Class for their Sports Day reports and Eliza in Successful Class for her Health Week diary.
Well done everyone and keep writing!
On Thursday, our intrepid Reading Stars from Year 5 had an amazing trip to Selhurst Park the home of the mighty Crystal Palace Football Club. The children enjoyed weeks of reading sessions in school with the Palace for Life Foundation team which culminated in an access all areas tour of the stadium.
Kagan takes place everyday in all year groups in James Dixon. Kagan structures are interactive strategies that promote whole class involvement by children working collaboratively in pairs or teams.
“I like Rally Coach because it helps me feel more confident in my learning. I also enjoy helping to coach my partner if they need any help.”

There have been several incidents of dangerous driving recently especially on the bend outside the school. Please ensure you are driving slowly and carefully when picking up and dropping off children. Please do not mount kerbs to park as it is dangerous for our children who are walking to and from school. Please drive as if every child on the street were your own.
