Arbitral awards issued in any other contracting state are now recognisable and enforceable in these countries.

This has brought the total number of contracting states to 166, showcasing that it is truly one of the most successful treaties in private international law. The Convention’s quasi-universal adoption has streamlined the successful collection of arbitral awards globally and has allowed dispute resolution through international arbitration to flourish.
