SOWING THE SEEDS OF THE NEXT GENERATION

DEAR PRAYER WARRIORS AND PARTNERS OF JAMA MINISTRIES

On behalf of all of us at JAMA, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your faithful partnership over the past thirty-two years. Your prayers, generosity, and faith in this ministry have helped shape the lives of countless youth, families, and leaders across generations. We simply could not do this Kingdom work without you.

Even as Dr. Kim battled cancer in recent years, he pressed forward with unshakable obedience to God’s calling. His passing in March ushered in a season of grief and deep reflection. For those who served alongside him, he was not just a visionary leader– he was a spiritual father, mentor, and friend. We miss him dearly.

But as we remember Dr. Kim, we are reminded of a greater truth: this vision never belonged to one man. At Dr. Kim’s memorial, a close friend of JAMA reminded me, saying it best, “If the vision is from God, it will be fulfilled, even when the man is gone, because it was never about the man.” This vision had always originated from God.

It was with this spirit that Dr. Kim modeled his

wholehearted obedience. When God said, “Go,” he moved. The vision God entrusted to him— awakening America through the church and raising up next-generation servant leaders—is now entrusted to us. We intend to carry it forward with the same faith and urgency.

As we look back on 32 years of God’s faithfulness, we are filled with gratitude for how God has already used JAMA to awaken many. We’ve seen God move through ministries such as our Global Leadership Development Institute (GLDI), Youth Leadership Conference (YLC), College Prep: Radiant (CP:R), and prayer conferences. Since arriving at Garden Valley eight years ago, countless churches have used our facilities as a retreat center.

Dr. Kim and his generation laid a strong foundation through decades of prayer, vision, and obedience. Now, we step into the next chapter, the launch of GLDI College, to raise up Daniels and Esthers for spiritual awakening and cultural renewal. It will take all of us standing in faith to bring it to life.

We want to invite you to be part of this next step. Would you prayerfully consider

We continue to see GLDI as the flagship program of JAMA. This year, we’ve redesigned it from a 40-day intensive to a three-week leadership formation experience that speaks more directly to the current generation. We are blessed to have some of the best instructors in the nation joining us this summer, including Dr. Peter Cha (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School), Dr. Joanne Jung (Talbot School of Theology), and Dr. Jeffery Ventrella (Attorney & Professor of Law). What excites me even more is that several of our own GLDI alumni— like Pastor Mike Yeh and Pastor Hope Lee—are returning to teach. This is the fruit of decades of investment.

In July, we will continue to expand our Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) and College Prep: Radiant (CPR). These next-generation programs are staffed almost entirely by GLDI alumni. Our youth are challenged to take their leadership and witness seriously. CPR, in particular, has become a powerful launching pad for rising college freshmen to grow spiritually, relationally, and academically.

Year after year, we hear testimonies of how one week in Garden Valley has changed the trajectory of their lives.

It’s been about 7 months since my husband went to be with Jesus and I wrote that letter. I still miss him so much, but each day it gets better. God is good. I am still living in Lindale by the grace of God, and very thankful to be able to visit his grave, which is very close to the JAMA campus, with fresh flowers almost every day.

I’m doing all that I can, as “JAMA Mama,” to ensure that the vision God gave my husband for this movement and this precious land carries forward and to pray for, encourage, and lift up our wonderful staff in their efforts. I am so grateful to them and to be a part of something so much larger than my own life.

Every morning, I take about a two-mile walk around the campus, filled with awe and thanksgiving of the land the Lord gave JAMA. The campus is breathtaking. During those walks, I pray that the campus would be ground zero for revival and awakening in this country. I do sense already that the Lord is moving in our nation. And it is amazing to witness all that God has been doing here already since my husband’s passing–more and more people are stepping up and taking ownership of JAMA. The campus is buzzing with energy and activity. The dandelion seeds of my late husband seem to be spreading, reminding me of John 12:24: “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Pray for us.

The Lord always told my husband, “You are not going to do it, I’m going to do it.” We know that the Lord always keeps his promise and that the best days are yet to come. To God be all the glory and honor!

HONORING THE LEGACY OF DR. JOHN C. KIM

Director of GLDI Oceania, JAMA Board Member, GLDI 2008, Assistant Professor at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand

Interviewed and written byJackie Parker (GLDI

2023)

Reminiscing on My Relationship with Dr. Kim:

At just 21 years old, I arrived in the United States from New Zealand, completely unprepared for the profound impact the JAMA New Awakening Conferences would have on my life.

I remember standing in awe as I witnessed Dr. Kim’s powerful leadership and the burning vision behind JAMA. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced. In contrast to New Zealand, where the Korean Christian community was relatively small and quiet, here was a vibrant, multigenerational movement of Korean-Americans fervently interceding—not for their own homeland—but for America. That struck me deeply. My father, Pastor David Jihun Kim, who attended with me, was equally moved. WewerebothcaptivatedbyDr.Kim’s unwaveringdevotionandbolddesireto spiritually“own”Americaashismissionfield. Hispassionwasn’tcasual—itwascontagious, andpulsating.

So much so that my father turned to Dr. Kim and declared, “We need to take full ownership of New Zealand, just like you’ve taken ownership of America, and become the John Kim of New Zealand.” From that moment, we were spiritually bonded with Dr Kim through our embrace of the spirit and calling of JAMA. When I later joined the Global Leadership Development Institute (GLDI) in 2008, that call to ownership was fortified in me.

Dr. Kim made it unmistakably clear: I was not just called to study or to serve—I was called to take spiritual responsibility for my nation, and for my generation. He challenged me to take hold of my field—communication studies—not merely as a career, but as a kingdom platform. It was there at GLDI that I was discipled into a deeper kind of faith, one that prays boldly and lives with conviction. At GLDI, I felt truly safe to be vulnerable, to grow, and to rise as a leader who could carry Christ’s heart for my generation, and ultimately, for New Zealand.

How JAMA Impacted My Life:

Leadership, at its core, is about cultivating a heart of ownership. Whether it’s in your professional sphere, your workplace, your personal life, your church, or your community—trueleadershipbeginswhenyou stopasking,“Whyisn’tthisbetter?”andstartasking,“WhatcanIdo to make it better?” That shift began to take root in me. I found myself developing a deep love and sense of responsibility for the institutions and communities I was part of. My church, my university, even the seemingly ordinary spaces in my life—they all began to matter more. That heart of ownership started to permeate everything I did.

After GLDI, Dr. Kim and I kept in touch through the occasional longdistance phone call. I was continually inspired by his unwavering passion, the clarity of his purpose, and the way he led with love— consistently encouraging me over the years in pursuing my own calling.

Fast forward a few years—I pursued and completed my Ph.D. and was granted tenure at my university. On the surface, it appeared I had reached what many aspired to: a position of influence, one through which I could shape the next generation. But internally, I found myself grappling with unexpected disillusionment. I thought I would walk into the classroom and change lives. But the reality was different— immense pressure to publish, produce research, and meet institutional benchmarks often seemed far removed from what I had expected. I began to feel stuck, wondering if I had missed the mark, questioning whether I was truly making a difference.

During a season of internal struggle, I confided in Dr Kim. I shared with him the weight of feeling caught in a disconnect—torn between a deep yearning to be an influence within my university and among my students, and the reality of serving in spaces that often felt mundane or invisible. His response has remained with me ever since. With his characteristic grace and conviction, he reminded me that my calling was no accident. God had placed me in this role—strategically—for the sake of the next generation. He urged me never to underestimate the significance of serving as a Christ-follower within the secular realm of higher education, a field both crucial and rich with purpose. Even when thefruitsofourlabourseemhidden, heremindedme,God’s goodworkcontinuestounfoldthroughus. “You must not give up,” he said, encouraging me to keep faithfully stewarding all that has been entrusted to me.

Those occasional phone calls with Dr. Kim were always profoundly grounding. Even though I was thousands of miles away in New Zealand, far from JAMA or GLDI, those conversations tethered me back to the vision and values that had first inspired me. They helped me to cherish not just Dr. Kim and my time at GLDI, but also the calling that God had placed over my life.

Taking Ownership of Dr. Kim’s Legacy:

When I met with Dr. Kim in his hospital bed in February 2025, a few weeks before he went home to Jesus, I shared these exact words with him, words that had been burning in my heart:

Dr.Kim, Godhasplacedadeepburdenuponmyheart—tocarry forward the vision and heart that He has entrusted to you.IseeallthatGodhasdonethroughyourlife, allthat Hehaspouredintoyouandthroughyou, andmydesire istoseethatlegacypassedonfaithfullytothenext generation.

Iwillremainfullycommitted,surrendered,andobedient to this call.

A scripture Dr. Kim often quoted has become an anchoring promise for me.

“Theleastofyouwillbecomeathousand,the smallestamightynation.IamtheLORD;initstime Iwilldothisswiftly.” — Isaiah 60:22

Vision can fade, and dreams may dim. But what has and will continue to sustain and strengthen me is this enduring promise: that in God’s perfect timing, Hewouldraiseupa JesusAwakeningMovementforAllNations—andHewould doitswiftly.

I am profoundly grateful—to Dr. Kim, to Mrs. Kim, and to the JAMA family. Being entrusted with the honor of serving on the JAMA Board is not something I take lightly. It is a privilege, a holy burden, and a beautiful promise. And with God’s help, I will carry it with the same faith, humility, and boldness that Dr Kim modeled so faithfully.

A FAITHFUL, FRUITFUL, AND FULL LIFE

REMEMBERING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MY FATHER: HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND SERVANT OF CHRIST PAUL E. KIM, ESQ. JAMA Joint Executive Team (JET) Member and JAMA Board Secretary

My dad was a pioneer, blazing trails in academia and government, as well as at the pulpit, whom God used to grow state economies, build organizations, and plant churches. A visionary, dad had this prophetic sense that Korean-American Christians would play a role in the spiritual renewal of this country and he challenged them to live their lives for Christ (and not for some secular American dream)--and, at the same time, called them, both young and old, to ask God to send revival to this great nation.

In that way, dad was very patriotic. He loved this country. He loved that missionaries from America journeyed to Korea to risk their lives to bring the gospel, and that young men from this country risked their lives so that Korea could be free from communism. Though his ultimate citizenship was in heaven, my dad also came to the realization that if we are indeed children of God and co-heirs with Jesus who created and sustains and rules over all things–including this nation–then we ought to pray for America and its spiritual revival. That sense of spiritual ownership–and the call for Korean-Americans to pray for America’s awakening–compelled my father to share his vision with about 1,000 churches across

this land, some of which he visited as part of 3 crosscountry prayer tours, the first one of which I had the privilege to be a part of with my mom, and the last one of which saw him, 5 years after beating spinal cancer, spending months and months on the road with Pastors Sam (GLDI ‘07) and Elijah (GLDI ‘10) Han, as well as Jefferson Lee–these young men were like Aaron and Hur to my father during all those months on the road.

My dad not only loved this country, he loved the next generation. Just picturing that scene of my dad in his 70s traveling cross-country with those guys in their 20s, or dad working with a staff half his age, him teaching or preaching at colleges, pouring out his summers at GLDI, or him effortlessly mingling with the youth students at CPR or YLC, and countless other scenes like this where dad was so often with the younger generations where he never looked out of place and always felt so happy to be in their presence and hear their stories. He was just so devoted to the advance of the Gospel, and that made him particularly passionate about the next generation because to him, they were the future conduits, they were the future leaders, they were the hope for the furtherance of His Kingdom. Psalm 71: verse 18 could not better describe

my dad’s zeal for them: “So eventooldageandgrayhairs, OGod,donotforsakeme, untilI proclaimyourmighttoanother generation, yourpowertoall those to come.”

In that regard, it just makes me so happy and so proud and so grateful that I got to share my dad, that he got to be a spiritual father and grandfather to so many, that they got to experience a tiny glimpse of the undeserving gift I’ve had for all my life–that my dad was my dad.

The one question that I got so many times, but was never annoyed at (and actually loved receiving), was the question–”what’s it like to have Dr. Kim as your dad?” And I would always say without missing a beat, “he’s the best. And as good as he is in public, he’s even better in private.”

He took us to the movies and, after watching The Karate Kid, I naturally became Daniel-San, while Dad, for obvious reasons, was Mr. Miyagi. He let me tag along on trips, including several to Korea, never making me feel like I was in the way—always asking if I was okay or if there was something I wanted to do. On those trips, I loved sharing a bed with him, because his body was always so warm.

Even later in life, whenever he visited, he’d warm up my car in the mornings and drive me to the metro station. We shared countless long talks during pivotal moments in my life, and his advice was always the best. No matter how busy he was, Dad was always there when it mattered.

Growing up, my dad would play soccer with me in the backyard, and take my sister and I to play tennis on late summer evenings in Alaska and he’d always get us frozen yogurt afterwards, and he took us to the movies and I remember after we came back from watching the Karate Kid, I pretended to be Daniel-San and dad, of course, was, for obvious reasons, Mr. Miyagi. He’d take us to the mall, especially when he had to get an anniversary or Christmas or mother’s day gift for mom and he desperately needed our input, and we’d go crazy and jump up and down during USC football games, and all those times when I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel his hand on my chest as he was praying over me. And I loved sleeping in the same bed with him on those guy trips because his body was always so warm. And just all the long talks we had during pivotal moments in my life, and him giving me the best advice at every turn. As busy as dad was, he was always there for me when it mattered.

More than his love for this country, and the next generation, my dad loved his family.

I’ll miss that hearty laugh and doing ministry alongside him. I’ll miss grabbing InN-Out for him whenever I flew into Dallas. I’ll miss watching how much he adored and respected Mom, and how he gushed over his five grandchildren. I’ll miss his long hugs, and how he ended every single call and every single goodbye with, “I love you.”

But I know this: because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, my dad is more alive than ever. Where he is, there is no pain, no suffering, no battered body, no cancer. I’m not sure about the baldness—but I’m pretty sure he’s still rocking that mustache.

Dad, you were my best friend, and I will miss you so much. But I know what you’d say to me right now: “Paul, thisisnot goodbye—thisisseeyoulater.”

There’s really only one painful memory that stands out: the long walk we took together back to the car after watching USC lose the 2006 national championship to Vince Young and Texas.

So Dad, I love you. And I’ll see you later.

I’ll miss our halftime and post-game phone calls after every USC football game, when we’d either vent and commiserate or hype each other up. I’ll miss his long, heartfelt birthday texts to the family—texts that I know took him over an hour to write with his one-finger typing. I’ll miss

There’s just so many things I’m going to miss about my dad–his hearty laugh and his sense of humor (especially when we made fun of him). I know the JAMA Board members and staff can attest to this, when during Board meetings, I would joke around with him and tell him to keep his remarks or presentations short, he’d say “yai, jashika,” and laugh, and then not keep it short. I will miss his warm smile, his big hugs, the way he adored my mom and his grandkids, his special heart for In-N-Out burgers and Panda Express, his love for sweets, Cinnabuns, salads, salmon, and Sprite, and how we ended every call I had with him, and every time I parted ways, with “I love you.”

In addition to showing me what it means to be a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, the Lord enabled my dad to show me first-hand:

• That ministry and service needs to come from private devotion (that his unrelenting work for the Lord was fueled by his constant walk with Him)

• That the term “full-time ministry” is not left to the seminarians and pastors, but is for all vocations, as we bring the Gospel to every area of our lives

• and he’d always tell me, “Paul,attheendoftheday, ministryisneveraboutprograms,ororganizations, orevents,ortasks,it’salwaysaboutpeople;it’s alwaysaboutourrelationshipswithpeople”

• That being a leader can be incredibly lonely–when you take risks for God, when you stick your neck out in obedience to Him, that can be a very lowly place, but dad had such a deep and abiding trust in his God that NOT knowing how something was going to turn out on the back-end was never a part of the calculus—it was always the obedience on the front-end that mattered to him,

• and, most importantly, he showed me what it means to be a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Because he loved the Lord more than his family, which made him the best family man,

his humor and how goodnatured he was when Mom, Sharon, or I teased him about his quirks.

My father passed peacefully on a Monday morning, March 10, surrounded by me, my sister, and my mom. The Wednesday the week before was the last day my dad was able to open his eyes and move his arms. On that day, three GLDI alumni visited him, Pastor John Kim (GLDI 2014), Julie Park (GLDI 2016), and Joseph Hur (GLDI 2014), who brought his guitar. And gathering around my dad’s bed, they sang some praise songs. During one of those songs, which proclaimed “the Goodness of God,” and was a favorite song of my dad’s, my dad somehow was able to muster whatever remaining strength he had in his cancer-ridden body and raise his arms in worship and praise to His Savior for His goodness. I don’t think he was really able to move again after that. My dad truly loved the Lord.

Several months ago, I had a dream with my dad in it–and this was the first dream I had with him after he had passed away. I don’t remember him saying anything in the dream – which may come as a surprise! – I just remember I was sitting on the family room floor and he was sitting there on a couch – with his tan, smooth skin, bald hair and rockin’ mustache, just looking at me with these warm, smiling eyes and this large, peaceful grin–it was as if he was reminding and reassuring me that he’s more alive than ever with his beloved Jesus, resting from all his labors, and with no more cancer, and no more pain, but that he loves me and not to be so sad because I will get to see him again. “Paul, this is not ‘goodbye’, this is ‘see you later’.”

Dad, you were my best friend and I miss you so much, but I love you and I will see you later.

So Dad, I love you. And I’ll see you later.

MINISTRY PARTNER HIGHLIGHT: JOSEPH HUR

Joe Hur, a 2014 GLDI alum, has been a vital part of the JAMA community for years, shaping the soundtracks of events that inspire and equip the next generation. Now living in Austin, Texas, Joe serves as the Worship Director at ACTS Fellowship Church, is pursuing seminary studies at Southwestern, and works as the Marketing Manager at Anecdote. Yet it all started with his own journey at GLDI.

How JAMA Shaped Him

“When I went to GLDI in 2014, I was in the middle of a faith crisis,” Joe recalls. “It was at GLDI where I truly encountered the Lord. For the first time, I recognized that I was a sinner, and I was able to begin a personal relationship with Him.”

Joe points to GLDI as the spark of his ministry calling: “Before GLDI, I didn’t fully understand God’s direction for my life. It was there that He began to reveal to me my calling to ministry. GLDI planted the seed that would grow into a lifelong pursuit of serving Him.”

Since then, Joe has led worship for JAMA events annually, including GLDI itself, conferences, Camp Refreshes, and Homecoming. His music has become

a defining element of the JAMA culture, drawing students and alumni alike into moments of heartfelt encounter with God.

Carrying Dr. Kim’s Vision Forward

Joe’s connection to JAMA is deeply personal, especially in the wake of Dr. Kim’s passing. “During this past GLDI, I was watching a clip of Dr. Kim leading this huge gathering at the Rose Bowl to pray for this nation and the next generation. I remember seeing Cathy’s tears, and I was in tears too. His passion for our generation is something I want to carry forward.”

He reflects on a pivotal moment with fellow alum GLDI 2014 John Kim at Dr. Kim’s deathbed: “We looked at each other and realized it was our turn now. As someone who has been a recipient of Dr. Kim’s obedience and vision, I want to pour into this next generation and honor his legacy.”

For Joe, JAMA is more than a program; it’s a mission. Through worship, mentorship, and faithful leadership, he embodies the Spirit of JAMA and inspires others to embrace their calling, just as he once did.

You are invited to BEYOND THE HORIZON BANQUET

– HONORING DR. JOHN KIM & FORGING AHEAD WITH PRAYER AND PURPOSE

March 7, 2026 | JAMA Global Campus

We live in a moment that demands bold, Spiritfilled leadership. Across our nation, young people face a landscape marked by cultural confusion, moral compromise, and the growing influence of forces opposed to God’s truth. Now, more than ever, we need leaders who are not only competent but also rooted in a biblical worldview, equipped to discern the times and act with wisdom and courage (1 Chronicles 12:32).

The Beyond the Horizon Banquet on March 7, 2026, at the JAMA Global Campus is our gathering to honor the life and legacy of Dr. John C. Kim. It is also a gathering of those who share his vision and hope: a community committed to equipping the next generation to stand boldly in faith, to engage culture with wisdom, and to work for the soul of our nation.

HONORING A LIFE OF IMPACT

Through powerful testimonies, meaningful fellowship, and united prayer, we will honor the lasting impact Dr. Kim had on countless lives while casting a clear vision for the future—a future where JAMA continues to equip, guide, and transform leaders for Christ.

This banquet is more than a moment of reflection; it is a call to recommit ourselves to the vision of JAMA. Guests will be reminded of the enduring principles Dr. Kim championed—Ownership, Integrity, and Kingdom-minded leadership—and see how these values continue to shape and inspire the next generation of leaders.

LOOKING AHEAD: THE VISION FOR COLLEGE AND BEYOND

In addition to honoring Dr. Kim’s remarkable legacy, the banquet will cast a bold vision for the future. Leaders and partners will share updates on the ongoing development of JAMA’s college initiative—a strategic response to the spiritual and cultural needs of our day.

This college is more than an academic endeavor; it is a place where the next generation will be trained to engage culture, influence society, and impact the world for Christ. Students will be formed in character, grounded in Scripture, and equipped with the integrity, conviction, and vision needed to lead boldly in life, faith, and the marketplace. Through this initiative, JAMA Global is expanding its reach to prepare leaders who can navigate the complexities of our time while advancing the Kingdom of God.

A NIGHT OF PRAYER

Finally, the banquet will lift our nation in prayer. Attendees will unite in intercession for America, standing together in faith as Dr. Kim modeled throughout his ministry.

The Beyond the Horizon Banquet is a celebration of legacy, vision, and faithful leadership, a time to reflect on the past, embrace the present, and step boldly into the future with the spirit of JAMA.

GOD’S PERFECT TIMING: A NEW CHAPTER IN TEXAS

DR. BRIAN MIN

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER (CSO), JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

FUTURE GLDI COLLEGE PRESIDENT

It’s hard to believe that 100 days have already passed since the Min family began a new chapter in the heartland of East Texas. After completing a 24-year Air Force career in Dayton, Ohio, I am now “re-tiring” (as Dr. Kim would say) in Lindale (AKA. Garden Valley), Texas.

From the moment Joanne and I arrived, we jumped right in, participating in the Intercessory Prayer Conference, GLDI, CP:R, YLC, and serving in several back-to-back retreats. What a blessed summer it was, witnessing so many young lives renewed and transformed in Christ. And to make it even sweeter, Joanne and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary right here on campus—a special milestone surrounded by God’s goodness.

God’s Perfect Timing and Humor

Looking back, I can’t help but smile at how God weaves His plans. Four years ago, as I dropped off our eldest son, Grant, for CP:R, I joked with Joanne, “Icouldlivehereandtakecareofthisplace.”

Today, we are residents of Mission Grove, the warm and welcoming village at JAMA Global Campus. Indeed, God has a sense of humor—and a greater

plan than we can imagine. It is both a privilege and an honor to now be officially part of the JAMA family. I say with joy that every member of my family has been “JAMAtized”! Each of our sons has gone through JAMA’s leadership training—Grant (CP:R Class of 2021 & GLDI Class of 2025), Nathan (CP:R Class of 2023), Daniel (CP:R Class of 2025), and Ryan (YLC Class of 2025). As parents, Joanne and I are eager to see how God will continue shaping them into Christian leaders who live boldly for Christ.

A Bold Vision: Establishing a Christian College

Since September, my focus has turned to the exciting task of strategic planning for JAMA’s next great endeavor: the establishment of a Christian college on this campus. This is the very mission for which I was invited to join as a full-time staff member. I want to share that what we envision will not be just another typical Christian college. God is calling us to something non-traditional, even radical, in its DNA. We believe higher education should return to its Godordained purpose: equipping students to discern the times and lead with wisdom, just as the descendants of Issachar did in 1 Chronicles 12:32.

The vision is bold: to raise up men and women of God who will become transformative leaders—leading families, churches, communities, states, nations, and ultimately the world—back to God. Here, students will be trained not merely to earn degrees, but to discover their God-given potential and live as Kingdom-minded influencers in every sphere of society.

During our 24 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, our family experienced a total of thirteen moves. The final one brought us to a place we never expected, the JAMA Global Campus in Lindale, Texas. Within the campus lies a small neighborhood called Mission Grove, where eight families reside. We are now blessed to be one of them.

run smoothly. Even more, their hearts are full of love and prayer for the next generation and for our nation. Truly, these faithful neighbors are the hidden treasures of JAMA.

A New Beginnings

We arrived at JAMA on June 1st, just in time for the Intercessory Prayer Conference. Before even unpacking, we joined four days of powerful prayer and from early morning until late evening, we joined a feast of prayer and the Word. Together with remarkable pastors and leaders, we cried out in heartfelt prayer for the nation and the next generation. Our faith was renewed, and our sense of calling became crystal clear.

Experiencing JAMA Programs Firsthand

Following the Intercessory Prayer Conference, various programs, including YLC, CPR, and GLDI, began in full swing. We witnessed spiritual transformation in our own children through these programs and were also privileged to serve as staff members.

During this time, we heard pastors, professors, and mentors deliver clear, powerful messages. The very truths we long to pass on to our children. These lectures and mentoring went far beyond simply imparting knowledge. They offered deep guidance,

helping young people build a solid foundation of faith and values in every area of life.

Topics included:

• Living faithfully on a secular college campus

• Building God-centered relationships

• Healing of the heart and true forgiveness

• The importance of honoring one’s parents

• Understanding and discerning culture through a biblical lens

• Seeking and discerning God’s will

• Developing humility and obedience

• Managing time and finances wisely

• Effective study strategies and habits, etc.

These truths and teachings, which every parent longs to pass on, began to take root in their lives. We were filled with gratitude as we saw these lessons come alive.

Looking Back

Our first three months at JAMA flew by, yet they were filled with renewal, growth, and a deeper walk with God. We can only confess that every step was guided by His hand.

The JAMA campus is far more than a place for programs. It is a training ground where God’s vision is cultivated and ambassadors for Christ are raised to help restore a nation drifting from Him. Here, we have seen how deeply God longs to raise the next generation. With grateful hearts, we step forward in faith to join this mission: passing on faith from one generation to the next.

What a blessing it is to walk together in fulfilling God’s vision.

Hello friends,

A JOURNEY BACK TO JAMA: REFLECTIONS FROM JAY MORGAN

Many of you may or may not know me. My name is Jay Morgan, and I an alumnus of GLDI class of 2010. Today, I serve as the Executive Director of Ministries at JAMA Global.

Like many alumni, after graduating, I cherished my time at GLDI but never imagined that one day my path would cross back so closely with JAMA. GLDI left a lasting imprint on my life, shaping both my faith and my perspective on leadership.

For over a decade, I served in pastoral ministry in the Seattle area. But in 2021, the Lord stirred in my heart a calling to move to Texas. Initially, we settled in Austin with hopes of planting a church. But God had other plans. Austin became a season of humbling. It was a time where I was stripped of ministry, reputation and the comfort of familiar relationships. What I didn’t realize then was that God was preparing me for something greater. As the Scripture says, “Godopposestheproudbut givegracetothehumble” (James 4:6).

During those years, I stayed loosely connected to JAMA in an advisory role. Eventually, Dr. Kim asked if I would consider joining the staff. Prayerfully, my wife and I felt this is where He was calling us. Dr. Kim had a unique gift

of seeing more in people than they saw in themselves. He once told me he saw me as “more than a pastor.” He recognized skills that could influence beyond the pulpit. He refused to let me settle for comfort or mediocrity. Instead, he challenged me to become the best version of myself. Not for my glory, but for the glory of God and the sake of others.

Joining JAMA has been life-altering. I’ve experienced firsthand the hand of God over this ministry. I’ve also felt the weight of responsibility. “Fromeveryonewhohasbeen givenmuch, muchwillbedemanded;andfrom theonewhohasbeenentrustedwithmuch, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48). I’ve seen prayers answered, lives transformed and leaders raised up. However, it comes with the sobering reality that God’s blessings come with great responsibility. My prayer is to remain faithful to what God has entrusted.

While in this position, I have had the unique perspective to discern the difference between the Spirit of God and the spirit of this age. Dr. Kim often reminded us of the sons of Issachar, leader who understood the times and knew what they ought to do (1 Chronicles 12:32).

We can recognize that we live in a time shaped by enormous challenges which include:

• The oncoming AI revolution and its ethical implications

• The growing mental health crisis

• The confusion around gender, family, and identity

• The disillusionment with institutions and leadership

In the midst of these cultural currents, our work at JAMA must rise to the challenge of the cultural moment. We must raise up leadership with a solid biblical worldview. We must have a strong understanding of the ImagoDei. We must train leaders to develop strong spiritual habits. We must continually cultivate communities marked by vulnerability and accountability.

I believe JAMA has a unique role to play in shaping the next generation of Christian leaders. Through GLDI, conferences and upcoming initiatives, my prayer is that JAMA may become a leading voice and a resource for the body of Christ in a rapidly changing world.

Thank you for allowing me to share my journey and hopes with you. I am a product of JAMA and your support. We are in this together.

Blessings,

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

MAY 8, 2025 @ JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

MAY 8, 2025 @JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May in the United States. On this day, people of all faiths are invited to pray for the nation, its leaders, communities, and future.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May in the United States for Christians to come together and intercede for our nation.

JAMA hosts the National Day of Prayer East Texas Gathering to unite believers in one voice of intercession for our nation. This year, Pastor Jay Morgan shared a powerful message of hope, followed by prayers from 14 local pastors and ministry leaders. We are grateful to partner with local churches and ministries— including East Texas Pastors Fellowship, Calvary Commission, Mercy Ships, Reformation House of Prayer, Sky Ranch, and YWAM Tyler—to make this gathering possible.

JAMA Global Campus hosts the National Day of Prayer for East Texas every year for all the area churches as part of our commitment to support and serve local churches. This year, JAMA’s own Pastor Jay Morgan delivered a message drawn from this year’s theme “Pour Out to God of Hope and Be Filled,” based on Romans 15:1,3 which states: “NowmaytheGodofhopefillyouwithall joyandpeaceinbelieving, sothatyouwillaboundinhopebythe poweroftheHolySpirit.” Representatives from 14 local churches and ministries led the gathering through specific prayer topics, including praying for America and its leaders, churches, schools, the family, and the next generation. Local partnering churches and ministries included The East Texas Pastors Fellowship, Calvary Commission, Mercy Ships, Reformation House of Prayer, Sky Ranch, and YWAM Tyler.

ABOUT NDP

Historical Summary:

1775 – The first Continental Congress called for a National Day of Prayer

1863 – Abraham Lincoln called for such a day.

National participation:

There was an evident hunger to pray for our nation among the crowd of around 220 people. The gathering was truly intergenerational, as young adults joined with seasoned believers to lift their voices together in intercession for our country. Our goal is that this event would not simply be a once-a-year observance, but a catalyst for prayer all the time and everywhere.

1952 – Congress established NDP as an annual event by a joint resolution, signed into law by President Truman.

The National Day of Prayer gathering at JAMA is an overflow of what is already happening weekly on our campus. Every Thursday morning, East Texas ministry partners gather at our campus to intercede for America. The annual National Day of Prayer event is one way this culture of prayer is being multiplied, bringing together churches and ministries in visible unity for the sake of God’s kingdom.

1988 – The law was amended and signed by President Reagan, designating the NDP as the first Thursday in May.

Every year, local, state, and federal observances were held from sunrise in Maine to sunset in Hawaii, uniting Americans from all socioeconomic, political and ethnic backgrounds in prayer for our nation. It is estimated that over two million people attended more than 30,000 observances – organized by approximately 40,000 volunteers.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER CONFERENCE (IPC)

JUNE 3-6, 2025 @JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

Raising the Cry for Revival

For twenty-five years, the Intercessory Prayer Conference has been regarded as the heartbeat of JAMA’s ministry. Since its beginning in 2000, this annual gathering has united prayer warriors who intercede for families, churches, communities, and the nation. It has always been more than a conference—it is a spiritual convocation, a call to stand in the gap, and a place where hearts are stirred toward revival.

The conference has consistently provided a sacred space for prayers from all over the country, deepening their understanding of prayer, confronting pressing societal issues, and offering encouragement among like-minded intercessors. Each year, participants leave with renewed passion, equipped not only with biblical teaching but also with practical strategies for cultivating prayer in their personal lives, homes, churches, and communities.

A Growing Movement Across the Nation

The 2025 gathering bore witness to God’s faithfulness and the growing hunger for prayer across the United States. This year, we welcomed over 200 participants from 32 churches and 10 states, representing diverse denominations yet united in a single mission: to seek the Lord in prayer and intercession.

Across four days, attendees engaged with 16 anointed speakers who led 24 sessions of teaching, prayer, and worship. Together, these voices created a symphony of intercession—lifting up prayers for revival, unity across generations, healing, and the future of the Church in America.

Highlights from the Conference

Each day carried a unique focus: Opening Day set the tone with a call to embrace God’s passion for America. Wednesday emphasized intimacy with God through intercession, fasting, and raising the next generation. Thursday highlighted power and purity in prayer, closing with a united plea for revival. Friday ended with urgency and hope, pointing to generational restoration and strategic action for lasting revival.

A special prayer was lifted after a video of a young woman shared her heartfelt plea for intercession regarding education. She testified that during her time at Harvard graduate school, she realized that higher education was failing to equip future teachers to serve and inspire the next generation truly. Instead, she observed it had become an indoctrination center, promoting the propaganda of the progressive left rather than cultivating wisdom and character. Many attendees were shocked to hear such testimony and felt an urgent need for prayer and awareness.

Looking Ahead with Hope

The 2025 Intercessory Prayer Conference reaffirmed JAMA’s vision: to build a movement of prayer that will transform families, revive churches, and bring healing to the nation. As participants return to their communities, the call is clear—carry the flame of intercession into everyday life.

We believe that God is raising up intercessors across generations and regions who will not cease to pray until His Spirit brings revival. The seeds planted at this year’s gathering are only the beginning.

May the cry of our hearts remain steadfast:

GLDI 3-WEEK INTENSIVE

GLDI 3-WEEK INTENSIVE

JUNE 16-JULY 4, 2025

@ JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

RAISING SPIRIT-FILLED, COMPETENT LEADERS FOR THE KINGDOM

We continue to see GLDI (Global Leadership Development Institute) as the flagship program of JAMA. This year, the program was redesigned from its original 40-day intensive into a dynamic three-week leadership formation experience— speaking more directly to the needs and challenges of today’s generation.

JUNE 16-JULY 4, 2025

@JAMA GLOBAL CAMPUS

The Global Leadership Development Institute (GLDI) remains the flagship program of JAMA, equipping students to become Spiritfilled, competent leaders who will enter the marketplace as ambassadors for the Kingdom. This year, GLDI was redesigned from its original 40-day intensive into a dynamic three-week leadership formation experience, addressing the needs and challenges of today’s generation.

We were blessed to welcome some of the finest instructors in the nation, including Dr. Peter Cha (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School), Dr. Joanne Jung (Talbot School of Theology), and Dr. Jeffery Ventrella (Attorney & Professor of Law).

What excites us even more is seeing our own alumni return to invest in the next generation. Pastors like Mike Yeh and Hope Lee—who themselves were once GLDI students—stood at the front of the classroom as teachers. This is the fruit of decades of prayer and faithful investment: leaders raising up leaders.

Entering GLDI without Dr. Kim, whose vision shaped the JAMA culture, was bittersweet. While his presence was deeply missed, his legacy lived on in the program’s structure, teaching quality, and Spirit-led culture. Thirteen motivated students embraced the opportunity to grow in character, wisdom, and Kingdom-minded leadership.

This year’s students were especially eager and open to learn, and their passion filled the program with life. Since Dr. Kim’s passing, our staff have still been walking through grief. Yet as many alumni joined our staff in serving these students, we experienced tremendous joy and were reminded why this work matters so deeply. We give thanks to God for the many ways He meets our tender needs and brings healing into our lives.

Spirit of JAMA and Personal Transformation

Students were immersed in the Spirit of JAMA through sessions led by JAMA staff, providing opportunities for personal repentance, reflection, and transformation. Pastor Mike Yeh (GLDI ‘07) shared his testimony of transformation, giving students a real-life example of God’s work in a leader’s life. Dr. Bruce and Toni Hebel led an all-day session on practicing forgiveness, helping students

NEXT GLDI - JUNE 14-JULY 4, 2026

practically experience relational healing.

Specialized Teaching

Specialized teaching sessions provided students with tools to navigate the world as Kingdom leaders. Dr. Jon Choi (Dallas Baptist University) and Dr. Joanne Jung (Biola) helped students deepen their understanding of a biblical worldview. At the same time, Dr. Peter Cha (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) explored cultural engagement through a Kingdom lens.

Dr. Jeffery Ventrell ( Vice President of Training for Alliance Defending Freedom), spoke on culture, beauty, and the Christian responsibility to live excellently as a faithful witness of Christ. Pastor Bill Holdridge taught on the attributes of Christ, guiding students to understand His character and emulate it in daily life. Other instructors—Steve Shin (pastor and business owner), Aaron Park (founder of Manna CEA), and Sharon Sunoo (mental health specialist)— taught on character in non-church settings, the future of finance, and integrating Christianity with mental health, respectively.

Alumni Leadership and Mentorship

GLDI alumni returned to invest personally in the next generation, modeling servant leadership and passing on the fruit of decades of faithful prayer and discipleship. Pastor Hope Lee (GLDI ‘07) led prayer sessions. Alumni also played a key role in fostering community and the culture of JAMA. Allison Park (GLDI ‘17), Rachel Han (GLDI ‘16), and Ryan Chun (GLDI ‘13) served as first-week Family Group leaders,

facilitating meaningful discussions, encouraging vulnerability, and helping students engage with the Spirit of JAMA in a safe and supportive environment. Mentors guided students in small groups, provided accountability, and embodied the humility, courage, and integrity expected of JAMA leaders.

Worship, Community, and Kingdom Projects

Worship was led daily by Joe Hur (GLDI ‘14) and his band, creating moments of heartfelt praise and encounter. Students engaged in daily Bible study, intercessory prayer, and fasting, while small group projects challenged them to design missionally minded businesses and initiatives. At the culminating session, staff members washed students’ feet, modeling servant leadership and challenging students to embrace this posture in all areas of life.

July 4th – A National Reminder

On July 4th, students were reminded that America must declare its dependence on God. This powerful moment underscored the program’s vision of raising leaders who are not only competent but also Spiritled, prepared to make a difference in the marketplace and society.

GLDI 2025 embodied the JAMA mission: raising Spiritfilled, competent leaders who understand the times, remain uncompromised by culture, and step into their calling as ambassadors of the Kingdom.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE & COLLEGE PREP: RADIANT

NEXT YLC & CP:R - JULY 13-17, 2026

Though distinct programs—YLC for high school students and CP:R for incoming college freshmen— the conferences shared general sessions, creating a powerful space where youth and youth leaders were equipped to face today’s cultural challenges with biblical wisdom, courage, and humility. Faith in the Wilderness Faith in the Wilderness from Deuteronomy 8:2–3, reminding students that

RAISING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHRIST-CENTERED LEADERS

God leads His people through wilderness seasons to shape dependence on Him. For many young people today who feel lost in a culture saturated with competing voices, this message was timely and needed for this cultural moment.

Sessions and workshops addressed critical issues such as digital addiction, dating, sexuality, anxiety, shame, time management, and mental health. Parents remarked that YLC opened conversations they had long prayed for, providing their children with a safe, Spirit-filled setting to wrestle honestly with these challenges. One mother testified, back with a clear vision of who she is in Christ.”

National Reach

Students traveled from across the nation to attend, representing states like AZ, CA, TX, NV, NJ, CT, MA, IL, OH, FL, and OK. Some were preparing to attend universities such as the University of Michigan, USC, UC Berkeley, UT Austin, Boston University, Stony Brook University, Purdue University, and the University of Oklahoma. Together, they represented the next generation of leaders being equipped to live faithfully and courageously in their schools, churches, and future workplaces.

Worship and Keynotes

Worship was led by Joe Hur and his band, creating heartfelt and Christ-centered moments of encounter throughout the week. Evenings were filled with powerful worship that parents and leaders described as “the kind of passion usually reserved for the last night of a retreat.” Combined with a week-long “phone detox,” students experienced freedom and fellowship rarely found in everyday life.

Keynote speakers included Pastors John Kim (GLDI ‘14), Chris Chong (GLDI ‘09), and Kevin Bae (GLDI

‘14), as well as Joshua Kim (Las Vegas), Esther Kim (Virginia), and Jay Morgan (GLDI ‘10), who bookended the conference with messages of hope and conviction. Dr. Angela Lee (GLDI ‘07) contributed to CP:R sessions and joined youth workers in addressing mental health with clarity and compassion.

Mentorship and Community

Students were placed into small groups of six to seven, led by mentors-many of them GLDI alumni— who invested personally in each participant. Beyond teaching, mentors modeled servant leadership by serving meals, carrying luggage, and praying for students. One parent shared, “My son didn’t just come back with knowledge—he came home with real relationships and guidance for his next steps.”

The impact went both ways. Many mentors commented on the unique culture of the conference, expressing their desire to return each year. One mentor admitted, “I realized I need to take Christ more seriouslyandplaceHimmorecentrallyinmylife.”

JAMA’s Unique Role

At JAMA, we see ourselves carrying the Spirit of the sons of Issachar—understanding the times and seasons, and preparing students to live like Daniel and Esther: leaders who discern the Spirit of the age yet remain uncompromised by it. One parent summarized the experience well: “As a mom,Iwastouchedbythehumilityofthe JAMAstaff—theylivedwhattheytaught.”

EAST TEXAS AWAKENING PRAYER GATHERING

East Texas Awakening. If there has ever been a need to pray, the need is clear. If there has ever been a time to pray, the time is now. 2 Chronicles 7:14 contains the Lord’s promise of divine intervention in the land “IF” His people will humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways. Do you hear God’s trumpet sounding to awaken this generation?

Do you sense God is moving in our land? Do you believe God’s people should rise and shine at such as time as this? Then come, and invite others, as we seek the Lord together across East Texas that He might hear, forgive, and heal our land. The need is clear, and the time is now.

2025 CAMPUS RENOVATION CONTINUES...

JAMA’S FITNESS ROOM IS COMPLETE!

Past June, we watched GLDI students doing push-ups with dorm beds on their backs because there was no proper space to workout.

By God’s grace and support of a few families, JAMA’s

long-awaited fitness room is now ready!

This gym is more than equipment—it’s a space for strength, joy, and community, where bodies are trained and hearts are refreshed for God’s work.
