During my time at CSM I learned from industry experts from Google, leading engineering firms, architectural firms and designers. My thesis project involved over a year of work creating an architectural project to ‘Bridge the Town & Gown Divide in Cambridge, UK.” The project was exhibited in the Letherby Gallery for London Design Festival 2022.

Civic Design UCL: The Bartlett School of Architecture & Planning

2021

Lead by Dr Palo Sendra, the Civic Design Course involved an intensive learning programme over the course of several months which culminated in the design of a live project for the Alton Estate, Wandsworth. Engagement with local residents and community leaders informed a thorough co-design process.

Inside LVMH

2021

In order to progress my understanding of the luxury fashion industry have studied the Inside LVMH course with a pass mark of 90%. Understanding the values and branding for Luxury Brands helps me to design spaces that best reflect the stories behind their creation and ethos.

BA:Hons Architecture The University of Kent

2018

My Bachelors in architecture culminated in my final year project “One World Pier” which created an innovative pier typology in the historic Chatham Dockyards. The university requested that the project be exhibited on site in the Chatham Dockyards Museum.

The King of Hearts Bridging the Town & Gown Divide in Cambridge, UK. MArch Thesis London Design Festival Cambridge, United Kingdom 2021-2022 2

The Cambridge Town & Gown Divide manifests itself as many socio-economic factors including a British record in life expectancy disparity (76-87 years).

My thesis project created urban strategies and architectural interventions to reduce this divide, ending in the North East Cambridge Civic & Cultural Centre (page 2).

Architectural storytelling was used to emphasise the impacts of the divide. The collegiate fairytale that Cambridge is famous for veils an extremely disparate city, represented in Act of the ‘King of Hearts’ architectural fairytale, pictured above. Below, the relationship between Cambridge College owned land and life expectancy is shown.

At urban scale, the North East Cambridge Masterplan stitches together the two most polarising Cambridge areas: King’s Hedges and the North Cambridge Science Park (shown above).

The North East Cambridge Civic & Cultural Centre is one of the focal interventions in this masterplan.

The North East Cambridge Civic & Cultural Centre is the final intervention in the masterplan and its design is inspired by archaeological dig sites and the studio worked in at Saint Martins. Classrooms, meeting rooms and spaces for study float above various library zones that aim to engage different groups of people in their personal pursuits and exchange of knowledge.

The four pavilions modelled below represent a portion of the conceptual form finding conducted during the design of the cultural centre. Parametric design and experiments into structural density informed the final design and programme of the centre.

In the Court of AI

A cautionary tale of artificial intelligence in the Smart City.

MArch Year 1 London, United Kingdom 2021

Following on from an extensive research project regarding artificial intelligence in contemporary ‘smart cities’ this project creates an architectural, cautionary tale about the current shortcomings of artificial intelligence and the danger it poses to city dwellers. The project also included interviews with industry experts in the field.
