Types of cylinder sleeves – There are two types of cylinder sleeves. These includes:
Dry cylinder sleeves: Dry cylinder sleeves are used for the basic piston protector. It must be able to withstand with extremely high temperature and it must be able to guard against the impurities. These sleeves are made up of high-grade material such as cast iron and ceramic nickel plating.
Wet cylinder sleeves: Wet cylinder sleeves are used to protect the piston but in a different way than the dry cylinder sleeves. It comes in the direct contact with the engine coolant. The wet cylinder sleeves are fitting along the tiny openings which helps to disperse the heat and the impurities and these liners are called the water jacket liners.
Finned cylinder sleeves: finned cylinder are also used for the same type of heat and impurities. These sleeves are basically used for the air-cooled engine and in the operation works.
