My name is Jaime “The Storefront Guy”. I am the founder of Storefront Mastery, a creative agency that guides local organizations and the businesses they nurture in the creation of legendary downtown experiences. Originally from South America, I now proudly serve downtowns and main streets from Montclair NJ.
Storefront Mastery started in 2017 with the idea of celebrating local businesses who made their streets more beautiful.
Their contribution to the quality of public space was visible, and yet there was little documentation of their role in building up strong and sustainable local economies.
Knowledge in architecture, design, economic development and small business expertise evolved that idea to become a storefront placemaking and design service.

During the pandemic, we pivoted to building up the capacity of local organizations to coach small businesses, by focusing on the quality of their contributions to the downtown experience.
We are now a creative agency that brings solid knowledge of architecture, economics, Placemaking, product, service and experience design into a package that deeply transforms downtowns.

Idea Factory
Structure: A workshop that provides tools and tactics for creating legendary downtown experiences. Deliverables include a set of recommendations covering strategic, branding, experience design and public space interventions to boost cohesion and attractiveness.
How it helps: by looking at both the district as a whole and its components, we are able to solve larger issues by tending to their different components. We look for opportunities to intervene both at district level and in carefully chosen points within the district, improving the efficacy of each intervention.

Storefront Accelerator
Structure: A complement of the Idea Factory, it consists on a set of recommendations based on our proprietary toolkit to reimagine the publicfacing aspect of the business, create a legendary experience or redefine the offer.
The process is design-based but may include elements of activation and building of a strong and loyal customer base.
How it helps: by guiding buisiness owners to renew their relationship with the business and use their own skills and installed capacity to accurately translate the vision into the store design or a new product.
