Ronaldo Valdez, actor-comedian and father to singercomedian Janno Gibbs, is another veteran actor who remains visible in many TV series and films today. His career took off when he played across Susan Roces in Kaming Taga-Ilog. Balancing comedic timing with dramatic prowess, Ronaldo won Best Supporting Actor from FAMAS and Urian, among others. He has numerous films under his belt, including The Mistress with Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. His most recent projects include the teleseryes Ikaw Lamang and Ina, Kapatid, Anak and the 2014 film Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak with the Padilla clan.

Gloria Sevilla is the “Queen of Visayan Movies” and “The Swan of Visayan Cinema”, thanks to all her contributions to Visayan-made movies in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Her film Badlis sa Kinabuhi, which won her an Best Actress award plus a nomination at the Asian Film Festival, was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival. Her daughter, Nadia Veloso, inherited her acting skills, and in 1973, this mother-daughter tandem made history as they won the FAMAS Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress for Gimingaw Ako. Her son, Matt Ranillo III, is also a noted actor in his own right. Gloria keeps herself busy producing and acting. She portrayed a gangster grandmom in 2013 MMFF entry Boy Golden: Shoot-toKill and was the grandmother of child boxers in 2104 Cinemalaya entry Children’s Show. Today, she is most known as Manang Fe, the trusty nanny of Ser Chief in November Be Careful With My Heart, whose love story has2014 had everyone melting and hoping for a similar end.

Mang Anastacio, loving partner of Manang Fe in Be Careful With My Heart, was actually one of the most popular “bida-kontrabida” actors of his time. Carlos “Rusty” Salazar acted alongside Amalia Fuentes and Juancho Gutierrez in Sampaguita Pictures’ Madaling Araw. He also worked with Gloria Romero in Alaalang Banal.

Miss World Philippines Valerie Weigmann on her ‘asawa’ Paolo Ballesteros: ‘He’s amazing’

fter winning the crown in the Miss World Philippines pageant last October 12, Valerie Weigmann said she is excited to prepare for the Miss World pageant to be held in London on December 14. The Fil-German host-actress said she never imagined winning in a beauty pageant even after joining Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition back in 2008. “Actually no, I never imagined this (laughs). People would come up tome after PBB and tell me, ‘Val, ikaw perfect ka as a beauty queen.

Wala ka bang balak?’ Ako naman nung time na yun sinabi ko na wait muna kasi I had to learn Tagalog pa. Kaya nag-stop din ako. At saka I wanted to get to know the Philippines even more. I wanted to travel first and explore more. As a model, I also wanted to build my portfolio and other stuff. I told them to give me time to get even better and to find out who I really am at that time. Kasi bata pa ako nun eh. I needed the time to explore more I guess,” she shared during her visit to the Sun Cellular flagship store in Robinson’s Galleria mall in Ortigas city last October 21.

The 24-year-old beauty queen said she has managed to maintain friendships with her former PBB housemates even after they had finished their stint on the popular Kapamilya reality show. “Rona Libby is still a very close friend of mine and also Nikki Uysiuseng and Priscilla Navidad also,” she said.

When asked about her former “ka-love team” inside the house, Val said they are also still friends. “Si Ejay Falcon we are on good terms naman but of course he’s also busy in what he’s doing now, being an artista he has a lot of shoots, a lot of rakets. So ako naman, siyempre I’m very busy na with the other projects, we would see each other sometimes in some events but not as often anymore as before,” she shared. When asked if she was willing to work with him in a project in the future, Val answered matter-of-factly, “Why not? I’m still open for anything that comes up. Let’s just see what happens. I’m open for anything actually, whether it comes to hosting or acting I enjoy everything that I’m getting. Every opportunity that I see, let’s just see what will come up to me I guess. I’m still open naman for hosting and acting,” she added.

Val has also been vocal of how her Eat Bulaga co-host Paolo Ballesteros encouraged her to join Miss World. “Yes he was part of it. It wasn’t only him but he was also one of the first who also talked to me about beauty pageants in general and that he loves also Miss World. Especially after Megan Young’s win, we saw also how amazing it is how much you can raise awareness of your personal beliefs and advocacies. Sabi niya, ‘Val, since into charity ka naman, it’s such a nice platform to raise awareness for your beliefs which I know you’re also very passionate about.’ So I was thinking of that and I talked to some of the people from Eat Bulaga And pumayag din sila. They said, ‘Kung yan ang gusto mo, go lang. We’re also very proud of you, that you want to use your voice to raise awareness for those who cannot speak up for themselves.’ The whole experience with the show ang saya-saya. Kasi it was also one of the hardest segments to be in kasi of course you’re exposed to a lot of people and a lot of sun but I didn’t mind. I enjoyed every minute of it since it also helped me to be the person who I am now. I got more confident, I got stronger, I got street-wise. I learned a lot during the whole experience,” she explained.

Even though she is now busy with her duties as Miss World Philippines 2014, Val said she and Paolo regularly communicate. “We’re still in touch. We’re still texting. Paolo would give me advice, like even during the screening of Miss World he would give me advice like, ‘Val, sa makeup mo iwasan mo yung mga sparkly sparkly eyeshadows kasi nakaka-mature,’ mga ganun. Even beauty tricks and makeup transformation and I totally trust him. He’s amazing. He’s really good with makeup and the way he wants me also to be to always look good in pictures,” she admitted.

When asked about why he refers to her as his “asawa” on national television, Valerie did not seem bothered by the sign of affection and explained. “Kasi siyempre dahil sa segment naming na Ang Joke Ko sa show ‘di ba? It’s one of the best segments before. And during that time I was about to start as one of the hosts so it’s a great memory that we started together. We really got close during that time,” she said.

“Alam mo naglaro ito ng mag start pa lang ako sa banda eh sa Journey. Na expose ako sa international scene ng ganunganun lang thru youtube at dahil sa kaibigan ko so naisip ko bakit hindi magkaroon ng ganito contest para magkaroon tayo ng mga bago at de kalibre na Asian musicians, singers at magkaroon ng exposure internationally yung husay nila talagang ma expose world wide na. Alam ko nandoon na tayo sa level na iyon pero andami pa natin dito na kailangan ng tulong at ito ang kailangan natin expose ngayon para malaman na natin kung sila na nga ang next big thing."

Dapat in English ang mga kanta na ipo-post ng hopefuls na gusto mag audition dahil target talaga ng grupo ni Arnel ang international market para sa mga madi discover nila.

Dito sa Pilipinas magaganap ang lahat ng competition ng Asian Music Camp at ngayon pa lang nililinaw na ni Arnel na hindi siya magiging bias lalo na kung Pinoy ang contestants.

“Yung tao naman ang boboto sa kanila. Kailangan tao ang mag decide kung sino ang markado na music at appearance sa stage. Magmula umpisa hanggang huli may mga judges tayo sa first 50, sa 20, hanggang sa top ten yan kahit saan man galling ang mga finalist ililipad natin yan ditto sa Pilipinas.”

Malaking announcement din ni Arnel na gagawin ng pelikula sa Hollywood ang life story niya na binubuo na ngayon ang istorya.

“Noong una ayoko sana pero kasama na ito ng pag start ng Music camp natin ang nangyari kasi sa akin is an extra ordinary story so kailangan kasama siya para ma inspire ang lahat ng aspiring musicians out there na hindi nabigyan ng chance na ituloy lang ang dreams nila. I will do some parts pero baka mag workshop muna ako. Alam ko kukuha sila ng Hollywood actor na magpe play na ako at dapat mag aral siya ng Tagalog. Nasa casting stage na siya ngayon. Naka ilang meeting na rin ako sa writers para sa story and may mga naka schedule pa kaming talks kasi gusto nila naka detalye talaga mula ng magka isip ako, they’re trying to talk with director Robert Zemeckis at ang working title namin is 'Don't Stop Believing.'"

Nagkausap sa telepono si Marvin at Kapamilya Executive na si Linggit Tan sa posibilidad ng pagbabalik ni Marvin.

Sa plano ni Marvin sa pagpasok pa ng 2015 siya magkaka assignment sa ABS-CBN at agad na nagulat na kailangan na siya mag report sa taping ng isang bagong serye.

"Nakakatuwa po na nakabalik ako kung saan ako nagsimula ang ABS-CBN po ang nagbigay sa akin ng malalaking break sa career ko at utang ko sa kanila kung nasaan man ako ngayon" Ang Flor De Liza ang magsisilbing comeback show ni Marvin sa dos at nakapag shooting na sila ng ilang mabibigat na eksena.

Si Direk Wenn Deramas ang director ng Flor De Liza na isang original story at walang kinalaman sa pelikulang ginawa noon nina Janice de Belen at Julie Vega.

WHEN DOES MARVIN AGUSTIN PLAN TO GET MARRIED?

Actor Marvin Agustin talked about his children and plans on getting married on Tapatan ni Tunying.

A doting father to his 9-year-old twin boys, Marvin said that they are the only ones who can make him move an important meeting or appointment to another schedule.

He also said that since he was part of the Philippine Archery team, the twins have taken a liking to the sport and he takes them to his archery trainings. “Nakikita nila yung disiplina ko, nakikita nila yung pagmamahal ko sa sport,” he said.

He further added that he will encourage them if ever they wanted to enter show business. However, he said that it is every parents dream to see their children to finish their studies so he wants the twins to focus on that.

As a chef, Marvin referred to his children as his no. 1 customers.

With his return to his mother network, he shared that he was quite happy with the project he was offered. What made Flordeliza his dream project was to be able to work once again with Jolina Magdangal. “Feeling ko niloloko ako nung mga kasama ko,” he related when he was told during a meeting that his former ka-love team is also making a comeback. “How can you say no to a great project?” he added.

Although busy with his new TV show, Marvin said that his priority still is his restaurant businesses. The actor currently owns 50 restaurants and he admitted he has had his share of ups and downs in the business. “Full-time ko tong ginagawa. May pananagutan ako sa business partners ko, mga empleyadong sinama namin sa negosyo.”

Marvin also shared he had an early interest in sales since his mother was a business woman herself. “Kahit rice cooker namin kaya niya ibenta,” he laughingly remembered.

Marvin recalled too that he worked as a waited, video shop attendant, even a mascot, just to help his family make ends meet. He emphasized though that he is forever grateful to show business as this is where he got his capital for his first business venture.

Currently single and available, Marvin described the woman he would want to be with in the future. “Magaling ako mag-alaga. Masarap din yun inaalagaan ka. Of course definitely (someone) who would love my kids like I love my kids, yun yung no.1 na gusto kong meron.”

When asked when he is getting married, he replied, “Wala ako sa number. If that moment na dumating sa sarili ko, na tingin ko I could give everything already, (then that’s it), it’s just right now hati-hati. Ang dami ko pang gusting gawin sa maraming parte ng buhay ko.”

COCO MARTIN’S WISH FOR HIS BIRTHDAY IS ANOTHER TELESERYE

ATAPOS na ang teleseryeng Ikaw Lamang ni Coco Martin nung Biyernes (Oct. 24) pero mukhang hindi matutuloy ang plano niyang pagbabakasyon na birthday gift sana niya sa sarili dahil diretso naman siya sa shooting ng Feng Shui 2 na entry ng Star Cinema sa Metro Manila Film Festival sa December.

Sa Ikaw Lamang, partner ni Coco sina KC Concepcion at Kim Chiu. Sa Feng Shui 2 naman, first time niyang makakatrabaho sa pelikula si Kris Aquino at Direk Chito Rono.

“Honestly, gusto ko sanang pumunta sa Boracay, Batanes, Sagada saka sa Palawan.

Pero kailangang magtrabaho, eh,”pahayag niya sa amin.

Pamilya lang daw if ever ang isasama niya sa bakasyon. No special someone.

“Wala pa ngayon, eh. Raket muna ang hinahanap ko, eh. Kasi, darating naman po ‘yun, eh. Kasi sabi ko nga, nanggaling na ako sa mahabang-mahabang relasyon at ilang beses na relasyon. Kumbaga, ayokong sayangin ang pagkakataong ito at kung anong blessing na mayroon ako ngayon,” katwiran pa niya.

Sa Nov. 1 ang birthday ni Coco at first time niyang magkakaroon ng malaking selebrasyon dahil magsi-celebrate din siya ng 10th year anniversary sa showbiz.

“Ang tagal ko na rin pala sa showbiz. Haha-ha! Ang tanda ko na rin pala,” natatawa niyang pahayag. “Biruin nyo, tumagal ako ng 10 taon,” hirit pa niya.

Hindi talaga nagpa-party si Coco tuwing birthday niya, pero dahil nga anniversary niya sa showbiz kaya pumayag na rin siya.

“Sa totoo lang, ayoko sanang magcelebrate, kasi hindi ako sanay, eh.

Kung magkaroon man, family lang. Ang may gusto talaga, ‘yung manager ko, si Mother Bibs (Biboy Arboleda), sabi niya, ‘kahit paano, mag-celebrate ka naman, magpasalamat ka man lang, i-enjoy mo ‘yung 10 years mo kahit papano, ‘yung lahat ng pinaghirapan mo.’”

Pagkatapos ng Ikaw Lamang, wish ulit ni Coco na makagawa ng panibagong soap opera sa ABS-CBN.

ANGELINE QUINTO SAYS SHE CANNOT SEE HERSELF GETTING MARRIED ANYTIME SOON

ngeline Quinto remarked that Erik Santos is making her truly happy at the moment. “Happy naman ako kung ano ang meron ako ngayon. Alam naman ng lahat na isa si Erik sa nagpapasaya sa akin,” she said during an interview at the blogger’s conference of Beauty in A Bottle.

When asked if Erik is already courting her, Angeline answered, “Sakto lang… hindi pa po. Sasabihin ko naman po kung kami na. Napapasaya [niya ako], alam naman din po ni Erik ‘yun. Nagtha-thank you din naman siya sa akin kasi alam niyang nandito ako sa kanya so bigayan lang din kasi mabuting tao din naman si Erik so ganon din ‘yung pinapakita niya.”

With her close friend Yeng Constantino getting married next year, Angeline said that she doesn’t see herself settling down anytime soon like the “Hawak Kamay” singer. “Alam mo sa totoo lang napaguusapan namin ni Yeng ‘to kasi si Yeng isa sa mga closest friends ko yan.

Nagulat ako talaga nong malaman kong ikakasal na siya next year pero siya na mismo nagsabi sa akin na happy po siya sa fiancé niya tapos tinatanong niya din ako minsan kung kailan ko balak magpakasal sabi ko, ‘Wala pa talaga sa isip ko yan, sorry kung hindi ako makasabay sa ’yo.’”

She added that her family is main priority for now. “Kasi alam naman din ni Yeng na ang dami ko pang kailangan gawin po talaga. Unang-una wala din namang inaaasahan ‘yung family ko, ako

ZANJOE MARUDO DENIES BEING UNFAITHFUL TO BEA ALONZO: ‘NEVER NAMAN AKO GUMAWA NG KALOKOHAN’

fter signing a new three-year contract with Star Cinema, Zanjoe Marudo said he is currently busy taping episodes for his new TV series Dream Dad. The Kapamilya actor is also excited about his first big screen project in 2015 with Angelica Panganiban titled Size Matters. “Ang tagal ko na siyang katrabaho, almost seven years. Sa Banana Split magkasama kami halos anim na taon na eh. Nakatrabaho ko din siya sa One More Try na drama naman. Tapos ngayon mukhang comedy na naamna ng gagawin namin so nakaka-excite kasi kumportable na kami sa isa’t isa. Alam na namin yung bawat bitaw or bato ng bawat isa, yung timing, so nakaka-excite na gagawin naman namin siya sa isang pelikula, hindi lang sa Banana Split,” he said during his contract-signing last November 12 at the Star Cinema office in Quezon City.

As for his relationship with Bea Alonzo, Zanjoe said there is simply no truth to all the malicious rumors that they are already on the verge of breaking up. “Hindi ko alam eh, kasi busy ako (laughs). May ganung issue pala. Wala naman, hindi totoo yun, walang ganung nangyari sa relasyon namin.

Masaya kami and chismis lang yun. Siguro may mga tao na gusto na maghiwalay kami kaya gumagawa ng mga ganung issue,” he explained. The 32-year-old actor said having disagreements in a relationship is normal for couples which is why he and Bea understand each other more. “Kasi naman sa relasyon kahit wala naman kayong pagaawayan or wala naman kayong problema, dahil hindi niyo lang nakikita ang isa’t isa minsan parang ang bilis na uminit ng ulo mo di ba may mga ganun? Kasi na-mi-miss mo.

peaking for the first time since rumors arose that he would be replacing box office star John Lloyd Cruz on upcoming soap Bridges, Xian Lim seemingly had no issue in being a second choice for the role. Even though no airing date has been released yet for the said soap which will also star Jericho Rosales Maja Salvador, rumors that John Lloyd backed out from the show began circulating soon after the project was announced.

While Maja and Jericho have both expressed sadness over Lloydy’s decision, they both refused to give out a specific reason why the latter opted not to push through with the serye and instead highlighted that he has “valid reasons.”

“Nakakadalawang taping day na ako. I’m really excited to begin wth the soap. “Yes, of course, there’s added pressure knowing that it came from him [John Lloyd]. But I can’t really speak on his behalf. I’m just really thankful and I’m excited and I will give it my all to make everything work,” he assured.

As a message to those that might compare him to the A-List actor, Xian promised, “Makakasiguro sila na pagbubutihan ko and they will see a 100% of Xian.”

In an earlier interview with Jericho, the Red actor was actually the first to confirm that Xian was onboard the show. He even related that Xian even spoke to him about his excitement for the project.

LYCA GAIRANOD ON HER FIRST ALBUM: ‘MAHALAGA SA PAMILYA KO ITO’

fter emerging as The Voice Kids grand champion earlier this year, Lyca Gairanod has been wowing audiences left and right with her small frame and big talent.

The nine-year-old powerhouse admitted her family has always encouraged her to sing. “Nung seven years old ako, bata pa ako nung nalaman nila mama na sumasayaw at kumakanta ako, sinali nila ako sa The Voice.

After being under the tutelage of her coach Sarah Geronimo, Lyca said she has learned a lot of important lessons. “Sana daw po huwag akong kakabahan, enjoy lang daw po at saka huwag daw sisigaw, dahan dahan lang. At dapat galing daw sa puso. Lagi daw magdadasal at nakatutuok sa taas, huwag pababayaan yung taas kasi nandoon ang Panginoon natin. Ngayon minsan nakakalungkot na hindi namin masyado kasama yung mga coach namin,” she admitted.

The young girl from Tanza, Cavite said she has a simple dream for her and her family.

“Sana makapag-aral kaming magkakapatid at saka sana hindi kami magkakahiwalay na

buong pamilya, masaya pag gabi at ayaw ko sa mga kapatid ko na nag-aaway, dahil siguro sa akin kasi hindi ko sila mini-makeup-an (laughs). Gusto ko rin maging masaya,” she added.

Apart from the upcoming one-night only The Voice Kids All-In Concert on December 6 at the PICC Plenary Hall, Lyca said she is also excited for her fans to experience the newly-released The Voice Kids album. “Dun sa concert namin meron kaming sorpresa sa inyo. Ma-e-excite po kayo sa lahat ng gagawin namin. Special guest namin dito si kuya Mitoy Yonting at Klarisse de Guzman.

First time ko magka-album, kasama ko yung top six. Mahalaga sa pamilya ko ito. Yung album namin mahalaga sa kanila at saka nagpapasalamat ako sa gumawa niyan at sa lahat ng fans ko sa The Voice at sa lahat ng bumili ng album namin. Bibili ako ng album ko!” she said.

onfirming recent online reports claiming that Pinoy Fear Factor grand winner Jommy Teotico had been arrested was a San Pedro Laguna police representative who even said that he is currently facing charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. In a report on the Sunday episode of The Buzz, San Pedro Laguna Police Station’s police sub inspector Antonio Gutierrez confirmed that Jommy is detained in their station.

“May nag-report sa officer na merong gumagamit ng marijuana sa may Pacita. Binigay po ‘yung complete address. After that, nagpadala ako ng isang team doon para i-verify ang report. SHARON’S MOTHER, KC’S LOLA PASSES AWAY DUE TO INTERNAL COMPLICATIONS

egastar Sharon Cuneta’s mother and KC Concepcion’s grandmother Elaine Cuneta has passed away on Wednesday, November 5 at 79 years old.

KC first took to her Twitter account to announce the sad news by posting, “Hi. I just lost the love of my life today.

My Mita will forever be the BEST GRANDMA EVER. She will forever be with me. I love you, my Mita.”

She noted “My grandma will forever be my inspiration. She loved life, gave us all beautiful adventures. She knew me more than I knew myself. #SuperLola” Earlier that day, KC even asked for prayers from her Twitter followers because her Mita is “in a make-orbreak situation” by undergoing a certain operation.

According to KC, through a post on her Instagram account, she will miss the “fun times” that she used to have with her Mita.

ven though he was born and raised in the Philippines, Magic 89.9 radio host and TV personality Sam YG (Samir Gogna in real life) admitted he has also had his share of dealing with discrimination while growing up in the Philippines. The talented host said he is already used to people who have pre-conceived notions of “bumbays.” “I’m 100% Pinoy. There’s no question about that.

You’d be surprised kasi kahit my parents are pure Indian they speak Tagalog. That’s the language I’m comfortable with. My friends are practically all Pinoys, dun ako lumaki eh. There’s a word na ‘bastos’ but there’s also a word na ‘pilyo.’ Drawing that fine line between hurting someone or offending someone and that’s where you figure things out. You can be a bit naughty or maloko, lahat naman tayo ganun eh. But as long as you know you’re not hurting anybody, you’re not stepping on anyone’s toes,” he explained.

They would come here and say this is the happiest place on earth, the vibe, the aura of a Pinoy is just different. We’re hospitable. As the nationwide search goes on until 2015, Sam gave tips on how to find your true happiness. “Honestly, I think it’s not just about being happy outside, what I’m looking for is somebody who is happy on the inside. Because it all starts from within. If you’re happy from within, I think it will come naturally to make other people happy and being a source of inspiration, a source of light to others. You can’t fake happiness from within. I do a show practically everyday, making people happy. And it’s hard to do a show na masama ang loob mo, mahirap yun. ‘Pag hindi ka masaya, malalaman ng tao yun. You really can’t fake it,” he said.

Apart from hosting, Sam said he is also into several food businesses. “Since the ber months, there’s been a lot of things going on especially with events. There’s Bugsy’s Restobar, I’m one of the partners there and also there’s one coming up in UP Town Center very soon in Katipunan.

Also Raven Manila at the fort and a shirt business for Boys Night Out called BNO Tees,” he shared.

When it comes to his love life, Sam said he hopes he finds the right woman for him some day. “Siyempre ang sabi nga nila, ‘You can’t deny the Pinay’ (laughs). Sana may mag-invest ng love sa akin. ‘Kim is the most supportive wife ever’

s part of this year’s batch of Cinema One Originals film stars, Jericho Rosales said he is very proud of his role as a gritty title character in the action-romance Red which was based on real events. “May pagka-bad boy yung role pero he’s a good-hearted character.

Mabait si Red kasi story siya ng isang legendary underground Bacolod fixer, yung nag-aayos ng mga problema ng mga politico, mga mayayaman basically. Ang problema niya, na-frame up siya sa sarili niyang kliyente and then ang kailangan niya gawin is ibenta niya lahat ng mga meron siya at umalis siya sa Bacolod para ma-save niya yung love of his life. So it’s an action love story na medyo kumplikado. Ang message niya is may mga bagay na hindi kayang ayusin. Iba siya,” he said during his solo presscon for the movie held last November 6 at Bella Ibarra in Quezon City.

The 35-year-old actor-singer said even though he is now married, there are still no limitations to what he can do onscreen, even love scenes. In Red, Echo has a love scene with co-star Mercedes Cabral. Echo said he does not hide anything from his wife model-host Kim Jones.

“Lahat alam niya. Even before ko tanggapin yung film, alam niya yung aspeto na yun. She’s part of the decisionmaking sa bawat project na gagawin ko. Coming from Legal Wife, alam niya na hindi ako gumagawa ng mga bagay na pang-hanky-panky lang, mga ganun. Kasi bilang artista, we do real-life stories eh, of course nasa sa akin na yung sana kung may love scene sana kasal na sila, Filipino pa rin eh. Yun yung kulturang kinalakihan ko eh. Pero kung ipapakita mo yung totoong buhay yung storya ng isang tao, nagiging hindi siya makatotohanan kung may iiwasan kang mga bagay. Kasi may paraan naman sa paggawa eh,” he explained.

When it comes to taking on roles, Echo said his biggest consideration has always been the story and the message it wants to deliver to the audience. “There are two things to consider. Number one is my conviction. Number two is the people na responsible ako. So pag tumanggap ako ng pelikula, ang limitation ko is kung gagawa ako ng bagay na hindi naman angkop sa mensahe. Ang limitation ko is pag gagamitin mo ang isang kissing scene or love scene para lang pumunta ang mga tao sa sinehan, because I’m not that kind of actor, parang ganun. Parang messenger ako eh, I’m a delivery boy so kailangan nandun ka sa sinabi mo, yung story. That’s my only limitation and Kim is the most supportive wife ever sabi niya. Sabi niya, ‘Pag tapos ka na diyan, umuwi ka na, mag-love scene tayo.’ (laughs) Puwede na ako mag-joke ng ganun kasi may asawa na ako,” he joked.

Marriage has actually been a good step for Echo in terms of his career according to him. “Yung ABS-CBN ang ganda pa rin ng mga roles na binibigay nila sa akin.

Hindi yung porke kasal na ako hindi na ako puwede gumawa ng mga ganyan. Ganun pa rin eh. Sumabay yung pagiging kasal ko dun sa growth ko as an actor. Nung naramdaman ko na tapos na ako sa mga ibang bagay. Of course pag mga pang-12 to 17 years old hindi na talaga puwede (laughs) pero puwede pa rin ako gumawa ng rom-com. It’s fun pa rin. Wala naman akong limitations na nangyari. And even the people, yung mga nag-susupport sa akin gusto pa rin nila na makita ako sa ganun,” he shared.

With a lovely wife and a busy career, is Echo thinking of having a baby soon? “When I get asked, ‘When are you going to have a baby?’ I don’t think we can because our relationship right now is our baby, kumbaga yun yung inaalagaan namin ngayon kasi I still have to learn a lot about Kim. She still has to learn a lot about me. We just figured out yung mga cultural differences namin, ganyan ganyan. We just decided na gusto namin magsama kasi pareho kaming sira ulo (laughs). Pareho kami ng direction.

Pero right now there’s this big ball of excitement for what’s about to happen because the foundation is right,” he said.

JERICHO ROSALES DOES BAD BOY ROLE IN “RED”

iyak na magugulat ang fans ni Jericho Rosales sa mapapanood nila sa pelikulang Red na isa sa mga entry sa 10th Cinema One Originals.

Malayung-malayo daw sa character niya bilang Adrian sa huli niyang teleseryeng The Legal Wife ang role niya sa bagong indie film.

“Ibang-iba talaga. Kahit nga ako nagulat din na magagawa ko ‘yon, eh,” nangingiting kuwento ni Echo.

Si Jericho ang bida sa Red and he will be playing a fixer na madalas nagmumura. Being a Christian, hindi ba siya nagdalawang-isip na tanggapin ang pelikula?

“Artist ako, eh. It’s just a role,” katwiran ng aktor.

“Saka matagal ko nang gustong makagawa ng action scenes. Dito sa pelikula namin, natupad yung pangarap ko,” dagdag pa niya.

Wala rin daw isyu sa faith niya ang pag-portray niya ng character ni Red. “Regarding my faith, being a Christian naman, I’m not here to preach but to be an example. Pero as an actor, kailangan ng real stories, eh. Kailangang mag-portray ng character.

“Si Red kasi, medyo parang fictional. Pero sa story, maraming reality like yung nagmamahal siya, gumagawa siya ng madaming mali, tapos yung ending ng story is a typical risk kung ano ang klase ng buhay mo,” paliwanag pa niya.

Aminado si Echo na first time niyang ginawa sa pelikula ang magmura nang magmura.

“Hindi talaga ako sanay. (Laughs) Kilala nyo naman ako, napaka-soft spoken ko, pero kailangang gawin, eh... Nag-usap kami ni Direk Jay (Abello) na dapat gumawa kami ng iba na mahi-hit yung intensity na gusto amin and not that (puro mura). Pero siyempre, may mura-mura pa rin sa eksena. Hindi naman ako ‘yon, eh, si Red ‘yon,” he said.

Ano ba ang ginawa niiyang paghahanda sa medyo off-beat na role niya sa pelikula?

“Hindi naman kailangan ng masyadong paghahanda.

Pag-aaralan mo lang naman yung character niya (Red) tapos kung saan siya nanggagaling. Sa tingin ko, okey naman ang kinalabasan,” pagmamalaki pa ng aktor.

Bilang isang award-winning actor, muli kayang mapapansin ng kritiko at ibang award-giving bodies ang pagganap niya sa bagong indie film tulad ng nangyari sa Alagwa noon kung saan nanalo siyang best actor sa Gawad Urian?

“Pag gumagwa kasi ako ng movie, hindi ko iniisip na dapat galingan ko dio kasi puwede akong magkaaward dito. Hindi ganu’n, eh. Tira lang ako nang tira.

Ginagawa ko lang nang maayos ang trabaho ko.

“Kung mapansin at ma-nominate, siyempre nakakaproud talaga. Pero wala akong conscious effort na dapat galingan ko sa pag-arte para sa award,” very humble niyang pahayag.

REVEALS XIAN LIM IS REPLACING JOHN LLOYD CRUZ ON ‘BRIDGES’

fter refusing to comment about the issue a few weeks back, Bridges star Jericho Rosales finally confirmed that John Lloyd Cruz will not be joining their project.

“Of course, I’m very, very sad but I understand certain things, very important details I can’t mention. Pero, of course, the opportunity. I’m talking about ‘yung oportunidad na makatrabaho si John Lloyd, hindi ba? Maraming tao ang nalungkot,” Jericho told reporters on Tuesday after the press conference of 2014 Cinema One Originals Festivals.

Noting that John Lloyd has “valid reasons,” Jericho stressed that he respects the former’s decision. “I respect the guy so much. It’s just a project. Actors have the right to say yes, the right to say no. It depends kung ano ang sitwasyon at panahon,” he said.

Jericho even pointed out that he had also turned down many projects in the past and that “Some people say na sayang ‘yung project, bakit mo pinakawalan mga ganoon. But I have my reasons and I’m happy now and I’m doing this.”

When rumors about John Lloyd’s withdrawal from the soap began making the rounds, speculations as to who could be his replacement also arose. To end the guessing, Jericho revealed that he heard that it was Xian Lim who was tapped to take on the role.

“Xian kasi approached me and said, ‘You know excited ako na makatrabaho ka it’s an honor’ sinabi niya pang ganoon,” he recalled.

Yet despite finding a replacement actor, the 35-year-old star related that their taping is currently put on hold following the consecutive holidays. “Medyo naka-pause kami ngayon, on hold kami ngayon, kung ‘yun ang gusto niyong malaman. But Xian expressed his excitement and I heard he’s been working hard on the role. So para sa akin as an actor I will give you my support,” he explained.

Jericho will also share the screen with his former The Legal Wife co-star Maja Salvador.

The Red actor said, “Very excited kasi si Maja na naman ang kasama ko alam mo naman kung gaano kakalog at kagaling ‘yon.

lthough reports about Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla headlining the upcoming remake of Pangako Sa’Yo remain unconfirmed, the soap’s original star Jericho Rosales approved of the rumored lead choices.

“I’m excited. Excited ako for everybody.

I’m sure that alam ng ABS na siguro gusto talaga ng fans na may remake especially since ang dami rin talagang fans ni Daniel at Kathryn ‘di ba? So parang perfect combination, parang ganon.

Excited ako to watch it,” Jericho said in an interview at the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival press conference on November 4.

While The Legal Wife actor believes that he is in no position to say who should be part of the cast, he sees Kathniel, with their strong presence, as perfect the team to reprise Yna and Angelo’s roles.

“Pero kung tatanungin niyo ako, they deserve to be Angelo and Yna kasi ang lakas lakas ng love team nila. And Pangako Sa ’Yo ang foundation nu’n is love story eh,” he said.

But the actor-musician was quick to add, “But let’s not forget Madame Claudia and let’s not forget Amor Powers and si Governor Eduardo Buenavista, ‘yung love triangle na ‘yun. Si Kathniel solved na ‘yan eh, ‘yung tatlo which was also noong time na ‘yun, ‘yun ang pinagkakaguluhan ng mga tao.”

As of the moment, no final casting has been made for the soap but a lot of names have already cropped up as potential stars, like Kathniel for Yna and Angelo’s roles and Jodi Sta. Maria as Amor Powers.

Jericho had a few casting suggestions of his own. “A few weeks ago nakita ko si Mylene Dizon sa set namin and magkasama kami, and ‘Bagay sayong maging Amor Powers.’ Siguro si Carmina [Villaroel] as Madame Claudia. Hindi ko pa alam kung sino ‘yung lalaki, si Eduardo, hindi ko masasabi kung sino,” he said. “But it would be nice siguro kung ‘hindi nila masyadong i-pe-peg doon sa original cast and I’m sure ginagawa na nila ‘yan. Iba na tayo ngayon eh, kailangan timely.

Kailangan may feel ng 2014.”

Apart from the endless curiosity about the show’s cast, reports have it that Jericho turned down an offer to be part of the soap, an issue which he confirmed.

“I’m sure si Kristine (Hermosa) natanong din, natanong din ako for a role but I had to say no because ang decision ko talaga is gusto ko lang manood. Gusto kong manood ng show na hindi ako involved,” Jericho explained.

In parting, the Red star who will be portraying the role of a Bacolod-raised fixer, gave a few tips for Kathniel, should they really be tapped to be part of the phenomenal soap. “Have fun, enjoy lang… Just try to stay professional on the set and always love the people around you and always think about the people you inspire,” he said. “Kami ni Tin ‘yun ang [iniisip namin eh]. Although ang dami naming pinagdaanang hirap noon, sa pag-shoot noon. Kasi malayo, putikan, ang daming challenges, name it andiyan ‘yun lahat.

But you know, nag-e-enjoy kami kasi nakikita naming ‘yung effect ng show namin. So it reached, Malaysia, Africa, China, kung saan-saan umabot. But just have fun, at the end of the day enjoy.”

The 10th Cinema One Originals festival will run from November 9 to 18 at the Fairview Terraces, Glorietta, Trinoma, and Greenhills Dolby Atmos theaters.

In 2005, she was included in the cast of the Philippine primetime drama series Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin along with ABS CBN's brightest stars such as Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, Angelika dela Cruz, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

She was also one of the lead casts of Erik Matti's television series, Rounin, under Chito Rono's direction, via ABS-CBN in 2006. She is part of the regular cast at ABS-CBN's Sunday afternoon show, ASAP. She starred in Kambal sa Uma, an afternoon drama series on ABS-CBN. In 2010, she starred in her very first solo lead role in the afternoon soap opera Alyna. Magdayao recently starred in the OFW-themed series Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo with Jake Cuenca. In 2013 she was added to the Main cast of Juan Dela Cruz. This 2014 she will be paired to Gerald Anderson on the kiddie tv series Nathaniel.

She is the youngest daughter of Enrique and Deanne Magdayao from Bogo, Cebu and is the youngest sister of Sharon Magdayao, popularly known as Vina Morales. She also has two older sisters named Sheila and Sheryl. She studied high school at the Angelicum College in Sto. Domingo, Quezon City.

Megan YOUNG REVEALS PLANS AFTER HER MISS WORLD REIGN

Ito na rin ang last official function ni Megan bilang Miss World kaya aminado siya na very sentimental na siya sa mga panahon na ito.

“Kasi siyempre one year mo lang talaga maisusuot ang blue crown na suot ko ngayon and you know kaisa-isa lang ito so siyempre kapag nakita mo ang bagong Miss World medyo may kurot ng kaunti sa puso dahil you know crown ko iyun eh, pero alam ko naman na marami na ang nakasuot nito before me and they’ve been very successful kumbaga isang chapter lang ito ng buhay ko, it has to come and go but good memories will remain.”

Good news din na sinabi ni Megan na extended ang kanyang duties sa Miss World Organization dahil sa kanyang charisma at attitude. Si Megan ang ika-apat na Miss World title holder na inalok ng ganito.

“Masaya ako na kumbaga na extend iyung work ko with them and I know na internationally matutulungan nila ako kung ano ang mga bagay na gusto ko gawin sa buhay ko. Gusto ko ipagpatuloy ang acting ko gusto ko na makapag work shop pa ako kasi alam ko naman na kailangan ko pa. It’s a never ending learning process and of course gusto ko pa rin ituloy ang hostings ko.”

Ngayon pa lang, nagpa flashback na si Megan ng kanyang di makakalimutan na experience bilang unang pinay na nanalo ng titile. “Pinaka mami-miss ko sa Miss World siguro iyung travelling, ito iyung isa sa paborito ko kasi ang dami ko napupuntahan ang dami ko nakikilala.

Parang feeling ko bawat bansa na napupuntahan ko may kakilala may kaibigan na ako. So every time na pupunta ako doon wala ng problema may kakilala na ako. Pinaka natutunan ko bilang Miss World is just be pleasant.

Magpakabait palagi minsan kahit na medyo itinutulak ka na sobra na iyung tao, hindi na maganda ang ginagawa kailangan pleasant ka pa rin.”

Ayon kay Nadine, grateful siya sa ABS-CBN sa pagbuhos ng mga projects. Matapos ang paganap ni Nadine sa Maalaala Mo Kaya, nagulat si Nadine nang agad makatanggap ng role para sa Hawak Kamay.

Kinabahan diumano si Nadine noong una niyang sabak sa Hawak Kamay kasi iyakan agad ang mga eksena, ngunit mabilis naman siyang naka-adjust kasi “sobrang happy ang set.” Masaya rin siyang makatrabaho sa Hawak Kamay ang Kapamilya big stars Piolo Pascual at Iza Calzado.

Dahil na rin sa pagpalipat-lipat niya sa mga estasyon, inakusahan si Nadine na “walang utang na loob.” Ayon kay Nadine, sanay na siya sa ganong akusasyon.

Depensa naman niya, “Tapos na ang contract ko with TV5 so nag-try po ako with ABS-CBN.” Dagdag pa ni Nadine, “Freelance pa naman po ako kaya walang issue.”

Usap-usapan rin nang pumutok ang balita na isang taon na palang kasal si Nadine sa businessman na si Richard Chua.

Bakit nga ba tinago ni Nadine at Richard ang kanilang kasal? Sagot ni Nadine, “Para may privacy naman.” Kwento ni Nadine, maging ang videographer at photographer ng kasal nila ay kinausap nila na hindi nila pwedeng ilabas ang mga kuha sa kasal. Pati raw pamilya ni Nadine ay hindi kumpleto

nang sila ay ikasal.

Ginanap ang kasal sa farm ng pamilya ni Richard sa Zambales noong October 30, 2013. Galing na rin sa Bali, Indonesia si Nadine at Richard para sa kanilang anniversary celebration. Naging relaxed naman daw ang kanilang bakasyon at sinusubukan na nila magkaroon ng baby.

EJAY FALCON REACTS ON ISSUE HE WAS EVICTED OUT OF RENTED CONDO

fter sa isyu sa kanila ni Yam Concepcion, sinagot naman ni Ejay Falcon ang bagong isyu na diumano’y pinalalayas na siya sa condominium unit na nirerentahan niya. In a phone call, Ejay explains na hindi niya alam kun saan nanggagalin ang ganu’ng isyu. Nagtataka rin daw siya kung bakit paborito siyan intrigahin.

“Unang-una po, hindi ako nakatira sa condo. Yun dating tinitirhan ko sa Project 8 (Quezon City), hindi naman yon condo.

Apartment ‘yon, P12,000 ang renta ko do’n at kayang-kaya ko naman pong bayaran ‘yon kasi may mga trabaho naman ako,” he explained.

Matagal din daw siyang tumira sa Quezon City, pero ngayon ay nasa Taytay, Rizal na siya.

“Six months na akong wala sa apartment.

Do’n na ako sa Taytay umuuwi. Hindi pa kumpleto yung gamit ko do’n, pero okey na rin. Ang mahalaga bahay ko na mismo yung inuuwian ko,” dagdag pa niya.

Ayon pa kay Ejay, baka raw iniisip ng iba na yung pag-alis niya sa dating apartment sa Quezon City at paglipat sa Taytay an dahilan kung bakit naiisyung pinalayas siya sa inuupahang bahay.

Matatandaang matagal nang naiintriga ang dalawa, lalo pa at nagsama sila halos dalawang taon na ang nakakalipas sa teleseryeng Walang Hanggan at naging bukas naman ang aktor sa paghanga kay Julia. ALEX GONZAGA SAYS HER HEART IS NOW ‘MENDED’

lex Gonzaga said it feels bittersweet as her afternoon soap Pure Love is about to end. “’Yun nga eh malungkot pero at the same time every day ‘yung ratings po namin tumataas, every day marami pang lalo pang naho-hook so hindi talaga kami iniwanan ng aming mga viewers from day one at nadagdagan pa sila so sobrang saya na ang sakit kasi hindi na kami every day magkikita, iiwanan namin ‘yung character namin. Ako kasi gusto ko si Dianne (her character), natutuwa ako sa personality niya na-love ko na ‘yung character ni Dianne so ang hirap talaga para iwanan,” she stated.

During the finale presscon of Pure Love, her co-star Arjo Atayde confessed that he still has a crush on the actress. When asked about her reaction to Arjo’s confession, Alex commented, “I’m always flattered kay Arjo kasi si Arjo is very nice talaga pero napapansin ko kasi sa lahat ng tao, with the crew, to the bosses, same lang kasi ang trato niya so Arjo is a person who is really genuine and really sweet so gusto mo talaga siyang maging kaibigan pero siyempre kung sa ’yo sasabihin ‘yun na kahit sino naman will always be flattered,” she said.

Did Arjo formally court her? “Hindi ko kasi alam kung nanliligaw pero habang ginagawa namin [ang Pure Love] parang hindi naman. Ewan ko ‘yung pinapakita niya sa aking pagkakaibigan, hindi ko alam kung may meaning pero feeling ko kasi nga mabait siyang tao, mabuti siyang tao,” she said.

The actress relayed that compared to before when her heart is “closed” for love, she shared that her heart is now “mended.”

Matatandaang Marso ng taong ito nang ianunsyo ni Yeng sa programang ASAP ang kanyang engagement sa karelasyon. “February 14 next year, garden wedding siya sa Tagaytay… Since pareho po kaming Christian, wala po kaming Cathedral unlike mga Catholic may mga Cathedral na ang gandaganda kunan, so sa garden na rin po yung ceremony.”

Parehong musikero sina yeng at Victor kaya naman maraming nagsasabing tila magiging isang rock concert ang tema ng ikakasal dahil sa pareho nilang hilig sa musika. Ngunit sinabi na ni Yeng na kabaligtaran ang kung ano ang inaasahan ng lahat. “Pareho kaming musician, pareho kaming rakista so everyone is expecting na magiging rakista yung theme ng wedding naming pero actually there is this side of him and me na hindi alam ng mga tao, ng mga families namin, na very introvert talaga kami. Tapos ako mahilig din ako sa cute stuff so hindi actually siya maingay, sobrang chill. Alam mo parang dinner date, mukha siyang ganun, may cello, may piano, ganun lang yung mga musicians. Hindi siya electric guitars or whatever, basta a lot of cute stuff.”

Pagdating naman sa mga kukuning abay sa kanilang kasal, “Alam niyo po kahit sa showbiz ako nagtatrabaho, ang circle ko po ay non-showbiz. So karamihan po sa mga ninong, ninang mga entorurage, mga non showbiz po talaga, mga friends form church, from way back high school.” Pero siniguro naman ni Yeng na ang mga kaibigan niya mula sa show business ay imbitado.

Isa din sa mga kinagiliwan itanong sa kanya ng ilang press people ay kung ano ang magiging kulay ng kanyang buhok sa kanyang kasal. “Hindi ko mapredict eh pero right now pink pa yung nasa mood ko so pink muna siguro pero sa oras na yun hindi ko alam kung ano.”

Ngunit siniguro niyang hindi itim ang magiging kulay ng kanyang buhok sa kanyang kasal. “No, I just want to be myself. Kung ano pang feel ko at that time yun po ang gagawin ko.”

Hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman ng lahat ang paniniwala ni Yeng pagdating sa pakikipagtalik. Kahit kailan naman sa mga panayam ni Yeng, pinapanindigan niya na dapat mauna muna ikasal ang magkarelasyon bago gawin ito. “Hindi ko sasabihin na perpekto kami pero ang pinakagusto ko talaga yun. Ang hirap din sabihin, pero yung physical intimacy sana magagawa lamang kapag kinasal na. I believe po na mas maho-honor namin ang parents namin, si God, in that way. It is not easy but it is worth it.”

Ngunit aminado naman si Yeng na hindi nawawala ang temptasyon, kaya naman ang kanilang paraan para labanan ito, “Discipline lang din talaga. Of course ano talaga, sobrang proud ako sa fiance ko. Nakikita ko sa kanya na even sa sinasabi ng mga tao na ang mga lalaki mahina but I see him really, really strong and yung conviction niya yun yung isa sa mga minahal ko sa kanya so ayun kaya hindi din ganun ka-excruciating for me.”

Ngunit kahit ganito ang paninindigan ni Yeng at ng kanyang fiancé sa kanilang relasyon, naiintindihan naman ni Yeng na sadyang may nangyayari sa ilan bago o hindi pa man ikinakasal. “Hindi naman namin sinasabi na hindi kami nagstru-struggle with it. That for sure kapag mahal mo ang isang tao, naiintindihan ko yun eh, gusto mo lang talagang maging intimate physically with someone na mahal mo pero ito yun eh, may impulse ka pero binigyan ka rin ng Panginoon ng utak to decide. So kapag napupunta na kami dun siyempre kami decide na lang kami na mahal natin si God, mahal natin families natin, mahal natin parents natin and we love each other.

We want to build yung relationship namin sa trust and if now matu-trust niya ako, with this, I know mas magfuflourish yung relationship namin within the marriage na.”

obe Paras is the second son of two-time PBA Most Valuable Player Benjie Paras.

Kobe played for La Salle Greenhills before deciding to pursue his career in the United States. He represented the Philippines as part of the Batang Gilas U-18 team that placed fifth in the FIBA Asia Championship last August. Earlier in October, he announced that he is UCLA-bound for high school.

Kobe plays for the LA Purple Ghosts, an elite team of teens coached by his Cathedral High coach William Middlebrooks.

High school season will start in January in the US. For now, Kobe is set to play at the Staples Center in the next few days for the LA Purple Ghosts .

His ultimate dream is to play for the NBA and Filipinos all over the world are rooting for him. Good Luck, Kobe!

n The Buzz, Cristine Reyes revealed more details about her pregnancy.

Earlier today, November 16, the actress announced her pregnancy after her production number on ASAP. Cristine said she kept mum about her pregnancy during the first trimester because she wasn’t sure that she and the baby were “a hundred percent safe.” The doctor, according to Cristine, advised bed rest because she was bleeding. Cristine also said that’s the reason why she could not work that time.

The first person who learned about her pregnancy was Ali Kahtibi, her boyfriend and the father of her baby. Cristine recounted how she and Ali did a pregnancy test twice in a day. They did it in the morning and were saddened because they tested negative. In the evening, when they repeated the test, they were beside themselves with joy because the result was finally positive. They then shared the good news to their family and friends.

Luckily for them, both their family and friends respected their decision to keep things under wraps and kept their secret well. Cristine said they were very happy with the result because the pregnancy, contrary to speculations, “was planned.”

Host Boy Abunda also disproved talks that Cristine and Ali had only been two months together before Cristine got pregnant. Boy said, I met him (Ali) as early as 2012.” Cristine, as of now, is craving ginataang bilo-bilo.

“Yung may langka,” Cristine added. In the first few months, she said, she craved turon and pizza. Ali’s family has been very supprotive of Cristine. “Yung family niya, lahat ng food binibigay sa akin .” The actress shared that Ali’s mom is taking good care of her.

Asked whether she had given a thought to what her plans are after her pregnancy, Cristine said, “babalik at babalik po ako (sa pag-aartista.) Cristine is confident that her ABS-CBN and Viva family will give her projects after her pregnancy. For former sexy star, pregnancy is a blessing and not something that she has to worry about. After all, Cristine is “happy and contented” with what she’s achieved in her career and personal life.

Cristine also confirmed she has “ipon.”

And to further prove that this girl doesn’t rush headlong into anything, Cristine revealed that she and Ali are attending marriage counseling. “Hindi naman po lagi marriage kaagad, dapat kailangan may knowledge ka sa papasukin mo.”

Tecson Lim para sa binuo nilang Haiyan Disaster Governance Initiative (HDGI).

Nag-perform ang iba’t ibang sikat na band for free at mga OPM singers like Myrus, Kitchie Nadal, Gracenote, Jeth Adriano at iba pa.

Mas lalong pinainit ang gabi ng free concert sa pagdating ng mag-inang Karla Estrada at Daniel Padilla na parehong recipient ng Handumanan Award.

Nagtilian ang audience nang tinawag na si Daniel at binigyan ng certificate sa stage nina Carlo Maceda at ni Tacloban, Leyte First District Congressman Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

Sina Karla at Daniel ay itinuring na bayani ng HDGI dahil sa pagsasagawa nila ng libreng concert sa Tacloban ilang buwan na ang nakakaraan para pasayahin ang kanilang mga kababayan doon.

Para sa grupo nina Carlo at Atty. Tecson, kapuri-puri ang ginawa ng mag-ina at dapat lamang na ito ay i-recognize.

“Ang ginawa ni Daniel ay magandang halimbawa para sa mga kabataang katulad niya na hindi ipinagdadamot ang talento para makatulong sa kapwa,” papuri ni Carlo sa binata.

oseph Marco is grateful to be part of the soap Pure Love. “I couldn’t ask for more. I’m really thankful na napunta sa akin ang role ni Dave at nakasama ako sa cast. I’m just really, really lucky and happy na nakasama ako dito,” he said.

Right after Pure Love, the actor will be headlining the sexy soap and the Filipino adaptation of the Mexican telenovela Passion de Amor. Joseph stated that he is ready for the sexy scenes that the show would require for him to do. “I think I’m always ready naman. Feeling ko lang kasi there’s right timing for everything and ‘yun nga since itong Passion de Amor it’s a sexy soap, I think it’s going to be a good showcase for me na ipakita ang ire-require ng show and ‘yun by November 10, last

“Well I’m really lucky and happy na ‘yun nga ako ‘yung makakatrabaho niya unang-una na makakatrabaho niya when it comes to drama at ako ‘yung makaka-love team niya so I’m excited for her and I am looking forward para sa mga scenes namin and yeah I’m excited for her.”

With various projects coming in, Joseph said that all his hard work and determination has truly paid off. “Well I’m just really glad na at this point na napapansin na din ako kasi most of ‘yung mga famous ngayon I’m sure dumaan din sila doon sa mga time na walang pumapansin sa kanila or ‘yung attention sa kanila sobrang less and I think acting and show business is all about patience and I am just so really glad na you know na naging patient ako na nag-work hard ako kahit walang project na dumating you know. How different was his performance?

n his interview on Tapatan ni Tunying, DLSU Green Archer Jeron Teng admitted he was not interested in playing basketball when he was younger. However, his older brother Jeric would ask him to play and join him in school try-outs. His brother would even help him when they were teammates back in high school.

He and Jeric competed against each other during the UAAP basketball season last year. When asked why they attended different schools, he revealed that they consulted a Chinese soothsayer who said Jeron was more suitable to study at DLSU and while Jeric was better off at UST. But Jeron admits that his brother is the better basketball player between them.

Jeron also shared his opinion about the increasing number of foreign basketball imports in colleges. While they should keep the ones they already have, he thought that they should stop recruiting new imports because, “For me nawawalan ng opportunity yung mga big guys. Kasi usually yung mga kinukuhang import, sentro laro eh. So paano naman yung mga galing high school na sentro? Isipin mo, siyempre galing high school medyo ano ka pa, kung baga hindi pa matured masyado.

Hindi pa hinog. May tatapat na import na papasok. Malamang kukunin yung import dahil mas malaki di ba? So feeling ko nawawalan ng chance yung mga big guys.

Currently, Jeron is getting a double degree in business management and behavioral science. He said that he dreams of having a restaurant business someday as he also likes to eat.

Talking about his rumoured girlfriend Jane Oineza, Jeron clarified that they are just friends and that he has no girlfriend right now. However, he admitted talking to her several times a day for hours. When asked how long they usually talk, Jeron answered, “Depende. Minsan umaabot ng three, four. Kahit minsan may insomnia eh. May insomnia, hindi makatulog so paminsan lang. Pero ayun…”

Myrtle Sarrosa on posing for FHM: ‘I want to transition into something sexier’

yrtle Sarrosa is the cover girl for the November issue of FHM. In an interview with Push.com. ph, the Pinoy Big Brother alum said that she was ecstatic about this new opportunity that came her way. “I’m really excited kasi this is something new for me especially parang coming from PBB, coming from drama rin, coming from cosplay and hosting Hero TV, this is something I’ve never done.”

Before posing for the men’s magazine, she asked for advice first from her family and friends. “I have to ask kung anong masasabi ng family ko, ng manager ko, ng friends ko, pero sabi nila I should do it kasi these kinds of offers kasi when they ask you to cover for FHM it's like you're sexy na, you can be a model so parang napaisip ako what if one day pag matanda na ako, pag lola na ako I will show my grandchildren pictures and tell them na ‘Alam mo ba nong bata pa ako I was on the cover of FHM.’ It would be fun and it would be nice.”

She added, “Sabi pa ng mom ko her words were like ‘Grabe hindi ka pa nagkaka-boyfriend magco-cover ka na ng FHM.’ Tapos sabi ko ‘Oo nga mom eh’ pero after talking to her na-realize niya na parang maganda rin pala, parang it’s something new for me, parang she supports me rin, sila ng dad ko.”

Myrtle further relayed that she decided to do it because she wanted to reinvent herself. “I guess I want to change from usual na because I’ve been used to ‘yung mga cute cosplays, ‘yung mga colorful dresses but ngayon I want to transition into something sexier, something more different something na mas aabangan ng tao.”

The 19-year old star admitted that she had hesitations at first posing for the magazine because people might judge her. But after meeting with the staff of FHM, she was convinced that it was going to be a fun experience.

“Natatakot ako noonthere is always that stereotype and people will always box you into something pero ‘yung sa akin naman kasi… I couldn’t sleep nong in-offer sa akin but when I’ve met up na with the staff ng FHM, when they offered me their themes and concepts and the people na makakatrabaho ko, the photographer, the make-up artist parang bigla kong na-realize na parang masaya naman siya basically like cosplaying pero sexier and it's different side na mas aabangan ng mga tao kaya ko siya tinanggap.”

fter a nasty blind item recently claimed that he had already fathered a 16-year-old out of wedlock was posted in a local showbiz blog, John Lloyd Cruz says he is not surprised anymore by the accusation and considers it just one of the many occupational hazards of being a celebrity. “Hindi naman nakakainis kasi medyo common na yan sa amin. Sabi ko nga sa mommy ko, ‘Mommy ah, I didn’t know you had it in you! (laughs),” he shares during the launch of Jack ‘n Jill Magic’s new commercials and products at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas last October 29.

The 31-year-old celebrity ambassador for the brand also says that even if people did the math, it would be impossible for him to have fathered the teenager. “Kasi medyo may edad na (yung bata), nung kinuwenta ko parang lumalabas 15 years old ako nun. Malabo rin mangyari (laughs),” he admits. Lloydy says that even if he and the teenager were to meet face-to-face, he would have a clear conscience in saying he is not the parent. “Mahirap naman yun kasi hindi naman tayo nagmamalinis pero bilang lalake, dapat ata malalaman mo kung meron. Hindi lang lukso ng dugo pero parang ginagawa mo yun eh, kung ginawa mo ang isang bagay na yun, dapat alam mo. Hindi mo puwede sabihin na hindi mo alam kung sayo yun o hindi di ba? Yun lang yung sa akin,” he adds.

As he gets ready to leave the country for a vacation overseas, Lloydy says he has not even had time to discuss the issue with girlfriend Angelica Panganiban and his family. “Hindi namin napag-usapan. Ay oo nga ano, napaisip tuloy ako. Hindi namin talaga napag-usapan,” he admits. To show that he still sympathizes with the teenager searching for his biological father, Lloydy says there are better channels to go through that can prove legitimacy. “Sa kahit na ano sigurong kaso na ganyan, mapa-akin man o mapa sa ibang tao, especially kapag public figure, siguro daanin natin sa tamang proseso. Kunwari parang kung hindi niyo ma-reach yung sinasabi niyong tatay niyo, may mga proper courses of action eh. Siguro puwede mo puntahan yung employer niya.

Even though he admits he is not even ready to walk down the aisle anytime soon, The celebrity ambassador says taking on the responsibility of becoming a father is an even bigger role for him and will be planned accordingly when he starts his own family. “I’ll become a father pag ready na. After finishing the Star Cinema movie The Trial, John Lloyd Cruz said that he has more free time now to spend with family especially since his contract with ABS-CBN is ending soon. The 31-year-old actor said he will take the time to consider what his career options are before renewing with the Kapamilya network. “Like I said, hindi ako bumabata so talagang every decision that I make, expect it to be harder, mas may bigat, not bigat na parang hirap ka sa kalooban mo pero parang mas maingat lang. Kailangan mong maging mas maingat kasi you’re talking about the next two or three years of your life. So parang hindi yun madaling desisyunan ‘di ba?” he admitted during the press launch of Jack ‘n Jill Magic’s new products last October 29 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Ortigas.

Lloydy said his decision to take time to decide is not because he has special conditions he wants to include in his new contract.

“Wala naman. Basically yung planning lang kung ano yung sequencing ng projects at anong klaseng projects yung gagawin ko. So basically ganun lang naman,” he admitted.

The talented actor is set to fly to the US with Angelica Panganiban and family members for a long-awaited vacation. “Unang una kasi may

mga kamag-anak kami dun. Aalis kami very soon and it will be the first time na makaka pag-bakasyon kami ng matagal tagal. The long planned vacation, according to Lloydy, will only be for a few weeks but he promises to be back by December for the holidays. “Every year naman it’s a must to be with your family so dito lang kami. Although there is speculation they are actually going to have a secret wedding there, Lloydy denied any such plans and saidtheir only agenda abroad is to get some R and R. “Hindi naman (laughs). Mas malaking awareness kasi ang nagpamulat kay Maxene sa sakit na cancer dahil ito rin ang pinagdaanan ng kanyang ama na si Francis M at ikinasawi nito limang taon na ang nakakaraan.

“Malapit sa puso ko ang mga advocacy for cancer awareness kasi I lost my own dad to leukemia 5 years ago and to be able to do something like this for other cancer patients I mean, napakasakit na mawalan ka ng loved one dahil sa cancer but there are people lucky enough to survive this desease and sadly my dad wasn’t one of them but he is in a better place right now.”

Sa kanya namang career bilang bagong Kapamilya, masaya si Maxene na nagsimula na siya sa bagong teleserye na una niyang assignment. Nagpasalamat din siya sa network na kanyang pinaggalingan at sa lahat ng trabaho na nagawa niya dito.

“I actually just came from the taping for a new serye kasama ko dito sila Zanjoe Marudo, Beauty Gonzales, Tirso Cruz III, Gloria Diaz, and a lot more. Ang role ko ako iyung malandi na may gusto kay Zanjoe na gagawin ko ang lahat para makuha siya. First show ko ito with kapamilya and I am so grateful to ABS-CBN siyempre no bridges burned sa kabila nagpapasalamat din ako sa kanila sa lahat ng trabaho na ibinigay nila sa akin. I jumped from one relationship to the next kasi I got excited easily and then I jump from one relationship to the next ‘yun pala hindi ko masyado nafo-focus ‘yung sarili ko. I mean hindi ko pa masyadong naaayos ang kailangang iayos sa sarili ko which means I need to love myself first, first and foremost ‘yun ang kailangan kong gawin,” she said.

She added that she wants to focus on her growth at this point in her life. “Right now what I’m doing, I’m loving myself by putting my career first. Sa naging kakaibang tema naman ng kanilang kasal, tinandaan naman ni Amy ang sinabi ni Carlo na mga bagay na gusto niya kung ikakasal sila at ito na nga ang nabuo na konsepto.

"Kasi medyo modern na tayo ngayon, naka motor ako, naka rubber shoes kami lahat. Walang ma-ooff ika nga. Sabi niya huwag maging stiff. Gusto niya maging fun tapos masaya lang. Cool mas relax for everybody, for the family and friends," paliwanag ni Carlo.

At kung may plano pa sila na magkaroon ng isa pang baby, nagkatawanan naman ang mag asawa.

"Hindi na muna siguro kasi masakit na iyung likod ko sa kakahabol sa bunso namin eh. We are very blessed to have three boy," sabi ni Amy.

Matapos ang eight years na paghihintay, kinasal noong November 12 si The Singing Bee host Amy Perez at ang kanyang long-time partner, radio host Carlo Castillo.

Ayon sa ulat sa Aquino and Abunda Tonight, ginanap ang intimate ceremony sa The Mango Farm sa Antipolo, Rizal. Hinatid si Amy ng kanyang anak na si Kyle sa altar habang kinakanta ng kanyang kaibigan na si Agot Isidro ang Air Supply hit na “Come What May.” Si Adi naman, anak na panganay ni Amy, ang naging Best Man. Naka-beige suit si Carlo at naka-lace gown naman si Amy na gawa ng kanyang kabigang designer JC Buendia.

Marami rin ang naantig sa wedding vows nina Amy at Carlo. Kasama sa vows ni Amy ang, “Bakit ba ako ang hinahabol-habol mo ang dami ko namang bagahe?”

Si Carlo naman ay nagpahayag ng wagas na pag-ibig kay Amy. “Mahal kita noon, mahal kita ngayon at mamahalin kita habang buhay.”

GERALD ANDERSON AND MAJA SALVADOR TO WORK TOGETHER IN CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

erald Anderson and his girlfriend Maja Salvador will be teaming up for a project for the first time. The couple will headline the Christmas special of Dreamscape titled Gift of Life.

“Masaya ako kasi siyempre first time din namin magsasama tapos para sa pasko pa ito ‘yung Christmas special ng Dreamscape at

ABS(CBN) para sa Kapamilya natin. Ang episode namin don is Gift of Life,” Gerald said. “Isang napakagandang kwento na nong in-offer sa amin hindi rin namin matanggihan kasi nga ang ganda at regalo din para sa lahat at para makapagbigay din ng isang magandang kwento ngayong pasko,” Maja added.

Gerald admitted that he is ecstatic to be Maja’s leading man for the first time in a show. “It’s something very exciting para sa mga fans siyempre ‘yun nga para sa pasko pa that’s my favorite season pa so ang hirap tanggihan eh, ang ganda ng kwento. I’m excited for the story tapos first time namin magsasama.”

Maja said that she always wanted to work with Gerald. “Kasi dati pa naman kahit naman wala pa kami gusto ko rin siya makatrabaho kasi siyempre naging fan din naman ako ng mga ginawa niyang trabaho especially Budoy kaya nong kinuwento ‘to parang excited ako, parang di ba ano bang pakiramdam ‘pag nagkatrabaho kaming dalawa. Parang nakaka-excite ‘yung pakiramdam na co-actor ko naman siya,” she shared.

On why they decided to do the show despite stating in their previous interviews that they didn’t want to be paired up in a show, Gerald said, “Ilang beses ko ring sinabi yan pero para sa pasko eh, ang ganda po ng kwento. Wala eh ang ganda po ng kwento first time namin magsasama.”

Maja further relayed, “Title pa lang di ba Gift of Life at para bigyan kami ng management ng isang magandang kwento ibig sabihin pinagkakatiwala sa amin. Siyempre masaya at masarap sa pakiramdam na pagkatiwalaan ka ng management at bigyan ka ng isang magandang kwento and it’s for Christmas pa so talagang bakit hindi?”

Are they open to the possibility of working together in a TV series after Gift of Life? “Tignan natin,” Maja said. “Siguro sa mga Kapamilya natin ‘yan eh kung susuportahan kami dito pero siyempre depende pa rin kasi kaya kami pumayag dito sa Christmas serye na ito kasi ang ganda ng kwento,” Gerald stated.

Ang tinutukoy ng aking source ay ang guwapong young actor na kung paniniwalaan ko ang itsinika ng kausap ko eh ilang serye na rin ang nagagawa at me box office hit na rin ay huh? Wala pa ring improvement?

“Kaya nga that time na paulit-ulit ang eksena pero hindi pa rin niya nakukuha ang tamang acting at nakakahiya na rin

NEWS ANCHOR, TAMBAY SA CASINO?

Mahirap na, baka makunan siya ng video o mapiktyuran siya playing slot machine o nasa table siya playing cards or baccarat, tapos, yun ang mabasa niyang news sa kanyang news program, ‘di ba?

Eh, ang tsika, nadamay lang si news anchor sa mister niya sa pagkahilig nito sa casino.

Minsan nga raw, nagkita pa si news anchor at ang ex-boyfriend nitong isang TV host sa sosyal na casino at nakapagtsikahan pa.

Wala namang masama sa pagka-casino for as long as you don’t make it as a habit or hobby.

And hangga’t alam mo ang limitasyon mo.

Pero as a news anchor or broadcaster, dapat, alerto ka sa paligid mo. Aalagaan mo ang iyong reputasyon.

Kaya I think, dapat na siyang umaksyon sa pamamagitan ng “pag-behave” o pagtigil sa pagka-casino.

In fairness, may ganyan ngang ugali ang TV host. Mahilig sumalo sa problema o pangangailangan ng mga kaibigan, dahil feeling nito, “Eh, talaga raw niloob ng Diyos na magkita sila ng anak ko, kaya nangyari yon.”
