Foreword.

Welcome to the First Stage Complete Dispersal Sale of the long established Coorievale and Jireh Jersey Herd. Coorievale was founded some 60 years ago by the late Alex MacKenzie.

In the early years many Cows, Heifers and Bulls were imported by the MacKenzie Family from the famous Merriland Stud in New Zealand. These incredibly deep pedigrees certainly formed a wonderful foundation for todays herd with the first 74 lots all being bred down from these imports.

Our vendors Chris and Pam founded their Jireh herd and has always part of Coorievale. Among these are the very successful maternal lines from the USA – BW Avery Suzanne and Duncan Belle.

Down through the years our vendors have enjoyed tremendous success in the Show ring both local and at Melbourne Royal and IDW and On Farm Competitions, again local and National, winning the coveted Great Southern and indeed the Australian Supreme Champion 4 year old!

As you study this catalogue you will find amazing depth of pedigree, you will also note tremendous calving interval, take a look, it’s most impressive.

We have included several recent pictures of cows selling, these are so representative of the entire herd. Yes, Coorievale-Jireh is simply so uniform – wonderful udders combined with true dairyness.

Selling will be 35 Cows classified EX to EX 93 and many more to come!

The current rolling herd average is 6,010 litres 224 kgs protein 3.7% 293 kgs fat 4.9%.

The most recent herd test cc an incredible 62.

Throughout the six decades both Chris and his father served both on State and Federal levels on Breed Society Boards and have contributed so much to the better of the Jersey Breed.

On behalf of the Dairy Cow Industry I thank the MacKenzie Family for their many years of dedication to the Jersey Breed and am confident so much more will be heard of this wonderful offering in their new homes.
