General Information: THE ROOM BLOCK IS READY! Dates available in the room block are Thursday, December 15 – Thursday, December 22nd, 2022. Guests may book up to three days before or after these dates upon request, for the same nightly rate, and subject to availability.

These dates appear to result in some of the best flight prices considering the time of year. Guests may prefer to plan to return home on or before December 23rd as flights/rates appear to increase significantly after this date (due to the Christmas holiday).

The wedding ceremony will take place on Tuesday December 20th at 4:00pm in the garden, followed by a cocktail hour from 5:006:00 and reception on the lobby terrace from 6:00-9:00.

Room rates are all-inclusive, hotel-only and include $44.00 for a shared airport transfer. Rates are PER PERSON. Initial Deposit: Due at time of booking - $50.00 per person or $100.00 per room.

Second Deposit: Due Monday, September 5th, 2022 - 1 night per room Final Payment: Due Monday, October 3rd, 2022 – Total Balance Due Payment can be made by credit card over the phone with me, or I can email a payment link to you. Resort: Sandos Playacar Beach Resort - Riviera Maya, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico In order to keep costs more affordable, we chose a 4-star resort. This resort will meet our needs in that it has a nice wedding ceremony location and beautiful grounds. It also has a great fitness center, many pools and restaurants and free nightly shows. It is located on one of the best sandy beach areas in Playa del Carman and is close to many fun excursion locations.

Most guests will be staying in the ‘Select Superior’ Adults-Only section as it is closest to the beach and the adults-only amenities. We were unfortunately not able to book “beach view” rooms in the room block as they were not available (but I plan to spend more time ON the beach than looking at it from my room anyway!) Beach view rooms may be available for upgrade/additional cost upon arrival. Please let me know if you would like to have this option if available and I will note it on your reservation.

Please be aware that the rooms in the ‘Family’ and ‘Hacienda’ sections are more updated (in 2012) although they are farther away from the beach and the adults-only section. Anyone booking in the Family section will not have access to the adults-only section, but there are plenty of other restaurants, pools and bars to enjoy. *You are not obligated in any way to book your stay through me or the room block, however the more guests that book into our room block, the more discounts, refunds and wedding perks will be afforded to the group, as well as earning some special honeymoon amenities and gifts for the bride and groom. Room block rates are generally cheaper than booking directly through the hotel. Although I have a small travel advisor business, and I have access to certain things that the public does not, please be assured I am not interested in making money for myself off of this group. I will be reinvesting everything I can back into our guests, the wedding ceremony, and the bride and groom in order to make it more affordable for those who are able to join us. Trip Insurance: Trip insurance is a very individual and need-specific addition to international travel. Some may want or need it, and others may be covered fully in other ways and opt-out. You are by no means in any way obligated to purchase trip insurance, however if you choose to book with the group, but choose to opt out,

I will ask that you sign an opt-out waiver which declares that you understand what international travel insurance is for, that it was offered to you, and that you chose to decline for your own personal reasons.

Please begin checking your health insurance policy, credit card and insurance policies to see if they provide any kind of international insurance coverage and list those things that are covered to help in deciding which coverage you might need.

Flight interruption, cancellation, flight delay, baggage loss, etc. may not be so critical to some, but please consider that most health insurance companies do not provide health coverage for international destinations and international health care/emergency evacuation, etc. can be extremely expensive depending on the service needed. Often health insurance is the most critical aspect to consider in purchasing travel insurance when traveling abroad.

Travel insurance can be purchased through the airline when booking your flight if the terms offer enough coverage to suit your needs (you will need to read the coverage documents very carefully), or I can provide immediate quotes for trip insurance from several travel protection companies directly after you book the flight. This can be done easily over the phone, and I can email the quote directly to you for your review. I work specifically with ‘CHUBB’, ‘Allianz’, and ‘Travel Protection Plus’ through Apple Leisure Group, however there are many other insurance companies to choose from.

Ideally, trip insurance must be booked within 7 days of your initial deposit to receive maximum benefits, but it can be added up until just before travel for some companies. Certain insurance companies allow 14-21 days after the initial deposit. We just need your name, age, initial deposit date, travel dates/airline company and insured trip cost to get a quote.

As stated, however, this is individual to each traveler, and everyone will have to make their own decision based on their own personal needs. I can highly recommend it, but cannot obligate anyone to get it.

Flights: As we have guests flying in from multiple locations, please feel free to book your own flights that meet your date/airline/cost and mileage/points/credit voucher needs if you would like OR I can assist in searching for and booking best possible flights for you if you need help. Be sure to consider signing up for potential point programs with the airline if you haven’t already done so. Flights are unfortunately high during our trip week as it is the week before Christmas, but we have been watching and they are still fluctuating.

Unfortunately, medical school doesn’t offer a lot of time off for Abigael (and some of her bridesmaids who are also in medical school), and she is very limited in dates when she can be away. This appeared to be the only way to combine a wedding ceremony and honeymoon for her and Jack in one week. We are so grateful to anyone who is able to join us and understand that for some it will not be possible.

ADDITIONAL TAXES REQUIRED IN MEXICO Cancun/Quintana Roo - VISITAX The state of Quintana Roo has just implemented a new mandatory tax, VISITAX, to be paid by visitors departing Cancun and Cozumel on April 1, 2021 and onward. The tax is approximately $10.00 USD per person (depending on current exchange rate).

Visitors can pay prior to departing for their resort, at the Cancun or Cozumel Airport upon arrival or departure, or at any time prior to their departure back home. However, we highly recommend that you complete the transaction prior to the commencement of your vacation by visiting the secure

VISITAX website, http://visitax.gob.mx/sitio/ (change between Spanish and English on upper right of screen).

Travelers will be asked to answer a few questions: name(s), age(s), passport number(s), departure date, and data for electronic payment. Upon completion of payment, they will receive a receipt in the form of a QR code. Payment for families and groups may be made in a single transaction with individual QR code receipts provided. Kiosks will also be available at the Cancun and Cozumel airports to collect payment and provide a QR code, and assistance will be available. However, lines may get long so please complete the transaction prior to leaving the U.S. Passengers will not be allowed through airport security upon their departure from Cancun/Cozumel without a valid QR code.

Riviera Maya Eco Tax The Municipality of Solidaridad will be charging an Eco Tax of 20.00 Mexico Pesos (approx. $1.10 USD) per room per night. This amount is not included in your vacation price and will be collected at your hotel.

These funds are being used to protect, maintain and conserve the natural beauty of the destination the area and its surroundings. This fee is subject to change at any time without notice by the hotel.

Cancun and Puerto Morelos Environmental Sanitation Tax – Municipality of Benito Juarez The Municipal Government of Benito Juarez will be charging all guests in the area of Cancun and Puerto Morelos an Environmental Sanitation Tax of a minimum 30.00 Mexican pesos (Approx. $1.60 USD) per room per night. This amount is not included in your vacation price and will be collected at your hotel.

These funds are being used to protect, maintain and conserve the extraordinary beauty of the area.

Covid Information: At the time of this writing, international travel is allowed to Mexico. There is currently no pre-departure quarantine, no proof of vaccination status, and no proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test to enter Mexico. Travelers who are connecting through a different country on the way to Mexico should check the testing requirements of the country they are transiting through. Covid requirements can change daily, so I will continue to update you if there are any changes before departure. The United States no longer requires inbound international travelers to test negative for Covid-19 before entering the U.S.

Passport/Visa Information: If you plan to join us, please check the expiration dates on your passport today! If you do not have a passport, you will want to begin the process of acquiring one AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!

There is no visa requirement to enter Mexico – only a current non-expired US Passport and immigration form is required for entry. Travelers are advised to fill out the online Multiple Immigration Form (FMMForma Migratoria Multiple)/Tourist Card for Mexico before arrival. The form must be completed per

person and printed out to be presented with the passport, in order to speed up the immigration process at the airport.
