Two is Better Than One Lemur Infants By Jen McCabe, Mammal Keeper
What's better than one lemur infant? Two, of course! On February 19, we welcomed a Coquerel’s Sifaka infant to first time parents, Aemilia and Gulliver. As luck would have it on March 10, a Blue-eyed Black Lemur was born to second time parents, Hendricks and Hemsworth. This is very exciting for us and for lemur conservation, as both lemur species are critically endangered.
Coquerel’s Sifaka Located in African Forest Diet Leaves make up the bulk of their diet. They also eat fruit, flowers and vegetables. Habitat Dry deciduous and semi-evergreen forest. Range North West of Madagascar, in areas north and east of the Betsiboka River. Conservation Status IUCN Redlist Critically Endangered
