ANIMAL HIGHLIGHTS

Two is Better Than One Lemur Infants

By Jen McCabe, Mammal Keeper

What's better than one lemur infant? Two, of course! On February 19, we welcomed a Coquerel’s Sifaka infant to first time parents, Aemilia and Gulliver. As luck would have it on March 10, a Blue-eyed Black Lemur was born to second time parents, Hendricks and Hemsworth. This is very exciting for us and for lemur conservation, as both lemur species are critically endangered.

Every birth is important as it supports the sustainability of these species for future generations. Keeper staff is elated to welcome our two newest additions and are excited for our members to see them.
