Located in Harlem, New York , the Langston Hughes Literary Center is inspired by contrasting energies of “Harlem Night Song” and “Lenox Avenue: Midnight.” Drawing from the communal vibrancy of Harlem’s nightlife in “Harlem Night Song,” the design intentionally creates large, open gathering spaces that foster interaction and unity. In contrast, the introspective tone of “Lenox Avenue Midnight” informs quieter, more intimate spaces for reflection. Prominent walls act as thresholds, clearly separating circulation from the programmatic elements, guiding visitors through processional staircases that emphasize the transition between public and reflective areas. This deliberate division mirrors the poems’ balance balance between movement and stillness, community and contemplation.

Located on the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan, this partner project explores the concept of designing a small home where the experience of navigating and inhabiting the space takes precedence over a traditional programmatic layout. The design embraces a unique and dynamic spatial organization, centering around an open floor plan anchored by a defining feature: the piano room. Exterior wooden elements play a pivotal role, serving as both functional circulation paths and a cohesive architectural statement. These elements unify the house’s levels and zones while introducing a sense of rhythm and flow, creating a living environment that embodies movement, harmony, and a deep connection to its spatial context.

Located in Cairns, Australia , this project draws inspiration from the natural formations of ravines to transform an unusable landscape into a sustainable living environment for a family within a lush, forested suburban setting. Utilizing the existing rock and vibrant greenery native to the area, the biophilic design seamlessly integrates with the surroundings, fostering a lifestyle deeply connected to nature. The house embraces the curvature and organic forms of the ravine, reflecting the distinct character of the tropical environment. By repurposing displaced rock and incorporating sustainable building techniques, the project maximizes functional space while minimizing environmental impact. This approach ensures the preservation of the site’s natural beauty, allowing the design to harmonize with and celebrate its unique location.

Located in Coconut Grove, Florida , this project envisions an apartment complex for 60 young adults transitioning from foster care, designed to support Casa Valentina’s mission. The design harmonizes with the neighborhood’s character while maintaining a scale that respects its residential context. It prioritizes stability, independence, and social connection through thoughtfully integrated communal and learning spaces. Sustainable and adaptable, the project provides a realistic framework for Casa Valentina to implement, ensuring a supportive and empowering living environment that fosters personal growth and long-term success for its residents. By creating a space that blends security, opportunity, and community, the design aims to serve as a foundation for a brighter and more independent future.

Located in Yamaguchi, Japan , this project focused on an in-depth exploration of Junya Ishigami’s architectural approach, emphasizing hands-on model-making rather than traditional design. Through a meticulous process, we selected one of Ishigami’s renowned works, delving deeply into its conceptual underpinnings, spatial composition, and materiality. By constructing a detailed 3D digital model, we gained a comprehensive understanding of its structure and design principles, which guided us in replicating a precise physical model. This exercise honed my skills in translating complex architectural ideas into tangible forms, emphasizing the importance of precision, craftsmanship, and the interplay of materials to capture Ishigami’s poetic vision.

This thesis project explores the intersection of high performance automotive engineering and architecture, using aerodynamics, material innovation, and sensory engagement to shape an unprecedented built environment. Inspired by Pagani’s design philosophy, the project redefines architecture as an expression of speed and precision, integrating fluid dynamics and carbon fiber technology. Set in Dubai, United Arab Emirates , a city of luxury and innovation, the project captures the essence of motion, merging performance engineering with spatial experience. It challenges conventional typologies, proposing an architecture that does not just house performance—but becomes performance.

Statement: To pioneer architecture that transcends traditional form, creating immersive, dynamic spaces that redefine human interaction with the built environment.
