Situated along the E311 corridor, Muruna forms part of the existing neighborhood of Emirates City, providing a vibrant economic and residential hub for the city of Ajman. The entire site consists of linked towers connected at various heights with skybridges, all of which form a cohesive network.
The primary functions of the project include manufacturing, recreational, and residential facilities, each of which rely on one another. The residential portion provides the manufacturing portion with the necessary workforce, whilst the manufacturing portion provides goods for both the recreational spaces and the residents above. It is in this dependence that Muruna serves as a model for economic resilience within urban development.
The structural system employed encourages a flexible usage of space, allowing each tower’s function to change with time. This adaptability is central to Muruna’s aim of providing the residents of Ajman with a resilient urban hub for decades to come.
