Creating a healthier and more fulfilling future

Health is Vital The key to maintaining robust health later in life is the small choices we make every day. According to the CDC, most chronic diseases can be prevented by: • eating a balanced diet • engaging in at least 150 minutes of aerobic activity per week • avoiding tobacco • limiting alcohol use • getting regular health screenings

Exercise can help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, dementia, weight gain, osteoarthritis, and some cancers. It may also provide natural pain relief and reduce the need for prescription opioids.

The Center for Health & Wellbeing will help clients create a plan for a healthier future, provide the support they need to succeed, and motivate them to add more life to their years.

Center for Health & Wellbeing The proposed Center for Health & Wellbeing will increase the capacity of Wellstar West Georgia’s Outpatient Rehabilitation, provide space for new services including aquatic therapy, and create a clinically staffed fitness center to meet the needs of the active aging population.

Personalized renewal plans and individual attention, combined with an accepting environment and medical grade equipment, will empower clients to make positive lifestyle changes and create a future of better health.

The Center for Health & Wellbeing is planned to be on Medical Center Parkway in LaGrange

Aquatic Therapy The Hydroworx 2000 Therapy Pool features an elevating treadmill to provide easy access for all types of patients, resistance jets for training and deep tissue massage, customizable water temperature and support bars, and underwater cameras for enhanced diagnostics. A second larger pool will host group sessions.

Aquatic therapy will allow patients to start rehab earlier after an injury or surgery and provide those who cannot tolerate land-based therapy with new options.

These pools will accommodate a wide range of patients, pediatric to geriatric, and highly impaired to elite athletes.

Medical Fitness Center The Medical Fitness Center will provide opportunities for beneficial physical activity and wellness education for rehabilitation patients, the elderly and medically fragile, and others in our region with an interest in enhanced wellness.

The trained staff of the Center will provide each client with a personalized fitness evaluation and plan to improve long-term health. The Center for Health & Wellbeing will include medical grade training equipment, a large studio for exercise classes, health education space with a teaching kitchen, an indoor/outdoor walking track with railings, and accessible locker rooms.

Your Impact The Center for Health & Wellbeing will bring the healing power of physical activity into the lives of individuals in our region who may have given up on maintaining their health or who think they can never be active again.
