During the past three years at St. Ben’s I have been working to develop a rigorous art program for the Elementary students that extends beyond arts and crafts. Each unit is a thematic unit that features connections to other academic areas, themes, and thought provoking pieces of famous art to enrich students’ artistic learning. My main goal is to allow students exploration of these ideas through a fine arts hands on experience. This year one of my goals is to incorporate technology throughout each student’s art experience because many contemporary artist now work with technology on a daily basis.
