Pre-Summit Y20 A+YS 2023 MIKTA 2023 RAYS 2024
Youth 20 (Y20) is an official consultation forum for youth from all G20 member countries so that they can dialogue with each other. Y20 encourages young people, as future leaders, to raise awareness of global issues, to exchange ideas, argue, negotiate, and reach consensus. Y20 begins on January 17, 2022 with the Y20 White Paper launch and kick off meeting on February 19, 2022.
Followed by Pre Summit 1 on 19 & 20 March 2022, Pre Summit 2 on 23 & 24 April 2022, Pre Summit 3 on 21 & 22 May 2022, and Pre Summit 4 on 18 & 19 June 2022. The final Y20 Summit 2022 will be held on 17 & 24 July 2022. Y20 Pre-summit will be held in Palembang, West Nusa Tenggara, Balikpapan and Manokwari. Meanwhile, the Y20 main event will be held in Jakarta and Bandung. Y20 Summit delegates will discuss four main Priority Areas. First, youth employment. The problem of unemployment among youth has become a problem, coupled with the pandemic conditions that seem to make things even more difficult. For this reason, young people need protection and support for their future work, one of which is by activating social security networks, especially for those who work in informal and non-standard sector jobs.
Promoting social entrepreneurship among youth will also provide opportunities to determine their own future, contribute to job creation, and address societal challenges through innovative and impactful solutions. Second, digital transformation. Young people play a central role in regulating the emergence of digital solutions, even for the most common problems.
However, participation in digital governance is hampered by their lack of digital skills and their ability to integrate and utilize digital technologies into everyday life in meaningful ways. Third, a sustainable and habitable planet. Youth, as planetary hubs today and in the future, have an important role to play in discussions about the state of the planet. Because the state of the planet will affect our well-being. For that, a transformation of the main economy is needed, starting from the food system, energy system, urban system, and production/consumption system. Fourth, diversity and inclusion. Rising inequality is a problem faced by young people, such as disruption of education, reduced job market, and increasing intolerance.
This puts young people, especially those who are marginalized and vulnerable, at risk of exploitation. For this reason, the issue of diversity and inclusion must be discussed to increase youth resilience in the face of future disasters.
