The North Bridge, South Bridge Competition, is part of CAPPA’s effort to Bridge the Gap. Bridging the Gap at UTA is a two-week design competition aimed at developing both short-term and long-term plans for connecting UTA’s East Campus and West Campus.
The North Bridge Proposal is a smaller bridge that includes landcsape features throughout the improved and reimagined circulation paths for the upcoming year of 2023.
The South Bridge Proposed a broader bridge with similar lanscaping, more leisure areas, event spaces, and a cafe shop that would provide funds for the University of Texas at Arlington.

In order to improve sustainability we used polycarbonate as a sound barrier on both bridges in a form of an awning and rails. In addition, the green spaces have been maximized to improve air quality and biodiversity.

TOPOGRAPHICAL SITE ANALYSIS
Within a given site boundary containing areas from the Meatpacking District, Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen, I present a site analysis of the topography within the confined area. Within the boundary that ranges from the districts, the topography levels range from -9 feet to approximately 70 feet as one moves North. Over the decades, Manhattan island in New York has experienced significant land growth. As the population of the island has increased the area has expanded as well. The island has grown in height and width as developers have constructed more land, piers, buildings, and roads out West towards the Hudson River and towards the East River.

The ideal oasis for an architecture student exists on the hills overlooking a forest landscape. The structure of the Cube House follows the L shape forms. The facades, roofs, and floor plans follow a fibonacci sequence grid.
The skeleton of the Cube House allowed for an organized main entrance The entry point of the refuge is clearly defined by the intersecting L shapes.
