The philosophy of Constantly Live inside My Best (C.L.I.M.B.) was initially adopted as a motto for our program when the firstever recruiting class reported to campus in August of 2017. It was developed to help our players and coaches stay focused on giving their very best no matter what challenges (mountains) we might face as a start up college football program. We encouraged our players to address each mountain in their life by focusing on giving their very best effort, no matter what, in the moment. From that sentiment, the motto 'Strike the Pick' was born as a way to communicate giving your best in order to summit whatever mountain you are facing. As the year developed, the idea of C.L.I.M.B. and 'Strike the Pick' was fully embraced by our program and began to add to the momentum of the IWU Football brand. The idea really took off on our social media platforms because of the ability to use strong imagery that played off the C.L.I.M.B. theme. Now, Constantly Live Inside My Best, is one of our program's three core beliefs that we use to build a purposeful and productive team culture. Our hope Is that these core beliefs are instrumental in building a culture that reflects the Indina Wesleyan University mission both on and off the field.

COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH

JORDAN LANGS Jordan Langs enters his fourth year as the head coach of Indiana Wesleyan University football. Langs lead the Wildcats to a 7-3 inaugural season record, while also landing himself on the AFCA 35 under 35. This prestigious recognition goes to the nation’s best up and coming coaches. “Jordan brings with him a wealth of experience as both a player and coach,” states Indiana Wesleyan Director of Athletics Mark DeMichael. “Jordan separated himself in the way he was able to communicate not only his passion and vision for Indiana Wesleyan football but even more so in his vision for integrating faith in every aspect of the IWU football program so that it truly will be a Christ-centered football program for years to come.”

Langs, 29, spent the 2012-16 seasons on the coaching staff at NCAA Division III Wheaton. He was the defensive coordinator the last three seasons and was the defensive backs coach in 2012 and 2013.

"JORDAN IS A SPECIAL EMPLOYEE OF IWU. HE HAS A DEEP COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN ALL THAT HE DOES, HE S A GIFTED LEADER AND ADMINISTRATOR. HE INSTILLS TRUST IN THOSE THAT HE WORKS WITH AND IS ABLE TO MOTIVATE AND UNIFY AT AN ELITE LEVEL." MARK DeMICHAEL

In five years at Wheaton, the Thunder accumulated a 49-8 record. In three years as the defensive coordinator the Thunder won two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championships and built a combined 33-4 mark. The Thunder lost just one CCIW game with Langs as the defensive coordinator. During those three seasons, the Thunder advanced to the national quarterfinals and twice to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA DIII playoffs and were ranked in the AFCA Coaches’ Poll Top-10. Langs’ defense ranked 12th in the nation in with 262.5 yards per game and have ranked in the top-10 nationally in defensive touchdowns, red zone defense, scoring defense, interceptions, and third down conversion. As a player, Langs was a four-year letter winner for Wheaton from 2008-2011. He started in 32 straight games from the Thunder and amassed 134 career tackles and 8 interceptions. Langs played defensive back and outside linebacker. During his senior campaign, he was evaluated in-person by multiple NFL teams. “I want our program to be a training ground for young men,” said Langs. “If that is going to be the case, our coaching staff must be consistent in establishing that our Christian faith must be the driving force behind being excellent in all phases of our lives. For student-athletes, this means they are pursuing excellence in their walk with Christ, their academic studies, and their football training. And if that is what we want from them as players, then it is our responsibility as coaches to demonstrate that in our own lives. How we live out our Christian faith and by the priority we put on people will be the measuring stick. This includes how we interact with family, coaches, players, students, community members, co-workers and our willingness to put their needs ahead of our own.” Jordan, his wife, Lindsay and their children, Levi (6), Grayson (5), Makayla (3) and Livia (1)
