Riverbanks Zoo The Riverbanks Zoo & Garden in Columbia is home to more than 2,000 magnificent and fascinating animals and one of the nation’s most beautiful and inspiring botanical gardens. The 170-acre site features dynamic natural habitat exhibits, scenic river views, spectacular valley overlooks, and significant historic landmarks. Riverbanks attracts more than 850,000 visitors each year and has a non-profit support society of more than 30,000 memberships. In addition to the zoo, Riverbanks Botanical Garden is 70 acres devoted to woodlands, gardens, historic ruins, plant collections, and a visitor facility. The Walled Garden features hundreds of

unique plantings suitable for home gardens. The Woodlands Walk features the ruins of an antebellum textile mill and a log cabin interpretive center. Daily park hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays (through September). Admission is $11.75 for adults, $9.25 for children 3-12, children 2 and under are free. Regular admission rates include entry to both the Zoo and the Botanical Garden.
