The Arts & Music Scene nTelos Wireless Pavilion: Philip Beaurline

Music Notes Bluegrass or jazz, rock or country, alternative or gospel, metal or classic — no matter what genre of music you prefer, Charlottesville has an abundance of live music to enjoy all year long.

The Downtown Mall comes alive with music, from street performers to professionals on stage. At the nTelos Wireless Pavilion at the east end of the mall, Fridays After Five kicks off in mid-April with a wide variety of free live music from local to regional acts. At The Jefferson this spring, catch Excision, the Eli Young Band or the Carolina Chocolate Drops. The Downtown Mall is also host to The Southern Cafe and Music Hall, where Pierre Bensusan and Moon Taxi will take the stage. The Paramount Theater, a landmark on the Downtown Mall since 1931, also frequently hosts popular musical performances. Be sure to catch big acts like the Women of Ireland at UVA’s John Paul Jones Arena. Check out the full local lineup at CharlottesvilleWelcomeBook.com.
